Extremely concise and well thought out and rehearsed! You stick to the topic without adding non-related info. I greatly appreciate this video and hope the rest are as well produced! Thanks
Hi, I play keyboard and don't know anything about string instruments. After watching this video I am sure that I would be able to play mandonlin without anybody's help! :) Could you suggest me any model from amazon?
I'm about to get my first mandolin. I know basic guitar skills, but the necks of most guitars are too thick for my small hands. I've been watching these videos and they are very informative. It looks a lot easier than I thought it was going to be.
What about A-Styles? Do they have the same type of strings and straps? Please help im planning on getting one from Amazon (I know, there are better places, but i dont have the time to go to a store and look at them and none of the local stores carry any, so i'd have to go to another place.) Im planing on getting a Kansa K-MA1B, so are they the same as Brad's here?
That was one way to remember the name of the strings. I came up with a different way that I myself use. Say :GDAE. Doesn't it sound an awful lot like Good Dae (Good Day) ? :D Great Lesson!
the basics seem to be almost identical to a guitar...so i think i have a good running start on this :) cant wait to buy one! wats the cheapest one i should get?
Thanks, Brad! like your voice and your style. I got a present of a custom built mandolin from an Irish trad player who insisted I learn to play. here goes......
I just watched the "experts village" mandolin vid and I can honestly say that this vid is more informative in the first 30 seconds than the entire two minutes of the other vid.
okay, there is 8 strings and all of them are in pairs. does this mean you could deadend (or deaden, not sure which one) the string below the one your playing a note on? i'm trying to explain this as best as i can, haha.
Hi Brad, Picked up a bran new Fender Mandolin at a garage sale this am. I'm trained as a classical pianist playing Rachmaninoff etc. for 50+years. I can already see from having many a teacher you know you stuff many thanks I'm determined to learn this instrument that I can pack around unlike my Steinway!!!! Thanks again for you videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@DUBsekurity
Most of the best mandolin players; including Bill Monroe, had huge hands.
