  • @songcollector07 YES EXACTLY

  • no shit!!!!

  • But there is a road

    To glory

    Somehow hidden in

    The past

    Behind the gold

    Behind the treasure

    Behind the mask

These lyrics are great. It's all about redemption and another chance. Via Jesus.

  • Masterpiece.Period ...

    Wow~za

  • Damn! But they're STILL great!!

  • truly an underestimated and underappreciated band. So much better then their one "hit"

  • Non so perchè ma mi ricordano la Band. Bella song!

  • TotalHealth , you are exactly right . I have listened to this song since it came out and to really appreciate it you have to close your eyes to get that trance like effect. very cool song by one of the most over looked bands ever.

  • Mate its 'True Blue' from down under!

  • Crazy! had to get my "glasses" to read the back of the cd to read the name of this!! Favorite in 1976 and now I'm 52...Wish music was like this again. Going to expose my grandkids to all this wonderful music and hopefully it will live on.. peace out homey's!!

  • My eyes are closed, and I'm there!

  • Heard this album 1st time in english class,HS in 73, Indiana. Teacher was older classy lady, avant garde who let us listen to albums to get our creative side going. I thank her and my classmate who borrowed his older bro's album.

  • I first heard of the Ozarks at boarding school in the UK in `74. They had a small cult following here in the early seventies and one of the seniors used to play this and other songs out through his courtyard study window in the Summer. Got me completely hooked. Now 35 years on they sound just as good on my ipod!

  • Amazing.

  • Can someone please tell me why we cant have brilliant music like this any more

  • heard this for the first time today.what an amazing song Heard it on xm radio as the sun was setting along an old winding road. coming home from work it was great

  • i like it ,its laid back .

  • What an amazing song. Brings back so many memories and feelings of a period in my life, not all of them great but in reflection all necessary in my life's journey. I remember when I first heard the Ozarks and how their music touched me. Their music always came from the heart weather it was deep and introspective like this song or light and easy like "Country Girl". Awesome band.

  • I had the good fortune to meet and get to know some of the guys back in the 70s after my asian vacation. 3 rd trip there, met them through and in the School of Metaphysics, I am an ol' Zarker (slang for Ozarks) I think the guys music helped me as much as the S.O.M did. Brought my soul near to peace at times it did, and it brings tears to remember back to those days. Good ones at that. Semper Fi. "Doc"

  • Yes! I agree! Close eyes and enter the trance! Most folks don't meditate on music anymore! It is a natual high! Thank-you brothers and sisters!

  • go back in time its great

  • great tunes and one of the best bands to come out of the seventies............HAS anyone heard of a album called the lost cabin sessions

  • @cementhead6 I have heard OF it but never heard it.

  • It is lovely! It reminds me of home and my life long ago.

  • This song reminds me of growing up in SE Kentucky with all the old people that are gone now. I mis them all!

  • Easily one the best OMD tunes every created. Musically brillant...excellent lyrics. I hum this tune all the time....in an almost dream like trance (borrowing from TotalHealth). Brings back so many memories. This kind of music is no more...but thank God we had the intelligence to preserve it.

  • I always think of the sunrises and sunsets and of the wind flowing through the deserts and mountains of my home state of New Mexico when I hear this song. The harmonica sails like the southwest breeze; warm, inviting, soothing. The fiddle, particularly in the opening of the song, makes me feel like I'm standing silently as the sun rises or sets. When the sky turns shades of fiery red or soft oranges and yellows. This is the perfect song to experience God's creation with.

  • Here's to my old roomates,,,,Reg ...Vince...Randy...Dan who use to clime through the window at 3am who left us years ago...Think about you guy's when I hear this song....Happy trails men...

    Stevie P.

  • i think that may be the best song ever

  • the first time I heard this song I was driving an eighteen wheeler through Alabama in a thunderstorm. The pines were swaying in the wind, it was surreal. I still love the song, can never get tired of it.

  • I first heard it when I was writing songs in 1974. They're on our cd...Allus Cats.

  • OMD best EVER!!!

  • love this music!! i listened to this album over and over on my electrophonic stereo in 1975

    good memories!!

  • Love this song... and the Daredevils!

  • ahhhhh - such a soothing song

  • great song

  • This song reminds me of "Doolin' - Dalton" by the Eagles. This is one of my favorite OMD songs.

  • it is a beautiful song for sure ..... d r e a m y!

  • thank-you OZMD back in the day...........

  • The ultimate psychedelic hippy country boy americana.

  • this is the shit

  • wake up people ! the Ozarks are still do'in big tie :)

  • DAMN! That's a GREAT song!

  • DAMN! That's a GREAT song!

  • I FOUND IT! Praise the Lord, or whoever's responsible! This puts me in another realm of the multi-verse!

  • Excellent tune. This and Colorado

song are the best. It seems to me

thatp part of these lyrics came from

and old childrens story I read many

years ago; especially the part about

when the judge checks his supper

its so small. If anyone remembers

this story could you post the name?

  • Turn up. Close eyes. Enter dream-like trance.

  • Oh what a tune! LOVE this song!!!
