Ihsahn is the legendary black metal supergroup that used sax. It was used extensively on the album "after" notably on the song "a grave inversed" and "on the shores"
Solefald was another progressive black metal band from Norway which used sax on the "an icelandic Odyssey" double album. I haven't listened too closely to the album, but i know it's used on "sun i call"
A newer dark metal band called kauan which has become VERY post rock on their later releases uses sax on their two new albums
@toooldtoocold Yes I never heard this version either.. but i know there's a 2 disc Bethlehem re-release of Dictius Te Necare that includes music videos, so I am guessing it came from there.
i dont really understand this band. there isnt too much online about them either. i love their screaching dark metal lyrics, but this kinda stuff? i dunno...
@wc181 It looks like so! It made me remember a Norwegian Black Metal supergroup that also used Saxophone in their Black Metal music. Can't remember the name of them now...
Ok, thx man, got something like that from an online translator, but didn't think it was a very logical name, and you know how these online translators are XD
But as far as I can tell, it means that death is preferred to the fleshless poison, which I personally think of as a poison of the soul or mind. Like angst or some kind of mental illness. Just my personal interpretation though.
Their lyrics and song titles are incomprehensible even for native german speakers. But mostly they have a meaning.
I think the correct literal translation is: "Death is soft stool *into* fleshless poison".
My interpretation of this is: Death is the painless segmentation of all living things into rotting material and the soul, which diffuse into a realm, where no life dwells.
ANYBODY GOT ANY SONG ON VIDEO FROM DICITUS TE NACARE? Their greatest album ever and probably the best black metal album next with Burzum - Burzum and Darkthrone - Panzerfaust and Gorgoroth - Pentegram

Could someone who speak german please translate the title?
morgurthion 4 years ago
Literal translation of the title:
"Death is soft stool in fleshless poison"
Best I can do, really... their titles are always really cryptic.

hi freddon.
the german word "weicher stuhl" is a synonym for shit.
compnorz 4 years ago
"Stuhl" - Not "weicher Stuhl"
"weich" is an adjective and means "soft"!
pedta 2 years ago
Or in the Shakespeare books "soft" means "wait".
