  • I like to see this ship in a Star Trek: Legacy download.

  • Awesome! I do miss the old Star Trek movies a little...

  • Great work! The Abbe is a great design and you've done it justice.

  • well done very well done

  • "Ready photon torpedos, full spread!"

    "Ready sir!"

    "FIRE!"

  • Totally badass I would love to see this in a future Trek tv series set in the prime universe.

  • then they go up and die

  • K. Thanks, "Womens advocacy"..

  • Just imagine if in the 24th Century they gave the Abbe's Quantum Torpedo's!!! Great Vid with a ship that no-one should mess with :D

  • This is really sweet work. It just feels... visually perfect. Mmm. :)

  • When are we going to see her (the ship) in action? I'm still waiting on your next video featuring this FANTASTIC looking ship.

  • Yeah, so.. nice video and all. Good animation, truly. But I'm left wondering, what the hell is it shooting at?

  • @JediBillman The JJPrise!

  • Oooh . . . . torpedogasm!

  • COOL. just like back in my SFC heyday, I made this Miranda-Class missile boat called the USS Avenger that REALLY kicked ass. Haven't forgotten her in fact. lol

  • Impressive!

  • woha they must be shitting their pants with them torpedoes passing over their heads that close..anyway a cool ship with 8 torpedo ramps..

  • @Spionsilver I imagine it would somehow be an awesome feeling. A powerful feeling. Would just make me even more berzerk when charging into the fight.

  • Very impressive, looks on par with or better that the model effects in the original films (in a good way, physical models almost always look superior to CGI when used correctly)

  • ...Why, oh why aren't you hired for your outstanding CGI work?

Seriously, you can make Michael Bay shit his pants with just several seconds of your work. D8

  • That's an incredible video, film quality!

  • ....fuck

  • fantastic made, only if this ship gets hit hard below the torpedobay, the warp and torpedobay will be destroyed, hope it hase good shielding there

  • Nice design, good use of music. My only complaint? Turn the warp engines off when your movie ships are flying at sub-warp.

  • Very nice. Did you render in passes?

  • @matollen Yeah, it ended up being quite a few layers in the end

  • That is one beautiful ship. Completely in line with the concepts of the Star Trek movies and completely logical in design. Also sad, in that it hints that Starfleet reached the point where a pure warship must be built. I'd love to see more.

  • wow great work

  • These ships are supposed to be exploration ships, with a few weapons only to protect against unknown hostile aliens. It's funny how people are drawn to the military view of Star Trek but still pretend it's about peaceful exploration.

The Federation is just the United States in space. Kind of depressing.

  • @FantasticBob7000 Truth is, Star Fleet is a Military organization and the exploration thing has been done to death or at least is not nearly as compelling as it used to be.

  • @DocWolph Who says it's a military org? Not Roddenberry. It's supposed to be a benevolent political org.

You're just driving home my point, Star Trek's changed. Probably since the 2nd movie. GR was kept out of that one.

  • @FantasticBob7000 You mistake Star Fleet for the United Federation of Planets. Star Fleet is the military arm of the UFP, sanctioned as a peacekeeping and defense force, whose resources are also directed into exploration. This has been the premise of Star Fleet since the start, if not always worded thus.

Death cut Mr. Roddenberry out of STAR TREK in 1991. He was involved in all the TMP-era movies and season 1 of ST:TNG.

  • @DocWolph I suspect you get my point but pretend not to so I'll spell it out & then you can argue with yourself. Star Trek is a sci-fi show created by Roddenberry about exploration starships going into the unknown. The amazing ships had some weapons to defend against aliens that might be hostile but they weren't designed to be warships. The new youtube videos are mostly about battles & war & calling them "dreadnoughts" & "cruisers" & such.

Nothing wrong with that just don't call it Star Trek.

  • @FantasticBob7000 I'm afraid you are deluding yourself to the truth of STAR TREK. There is no denying the premise of TOS and TNG, but one could make a show about the British Empire exploring the world, 300 years ago, and it would still be a show about exploration WITH military ships, crew, and protocols. Your argument fails in the face of what it is as opposed to what you think it is. Star Fleet is a military force with military vessels built for fighting. That is STAR TREK.

  • @DocWolph So why don't you try YELLING :)

  • @FantasticBob7000 Was that a brain fart?

  • @DocWolph Actually...Star Trek entire premise is about exploration and good will. You'll notice that each class ship from the beginning has designated sciences and diplomatic capabilities. Even the Enterprise has such...all the enterprise classes have that ability. It's only till we saw the borg and the Dominion did you see ships like the Defiant come up with builds strictly for war. But...I will say that you'll see more defensive and offensive capabilies in newer ships.

  • @casualtrainer Now you are trying to transpose the premise of the Star Trek and the premise of Star Fleet. You and the rest of the peaceniks continually ignore the notion, "Mankind grew up". Primarily Star Fleet is characterized by the much venerated "speak softly and carry a big stick" doctrine. War has and IS not the driving intent in the Federation, but faced with extreme existential threats, Star Fleet better be ready. Meanwhile, "Let's see what's out there." -James T. Kirk

  • @DocWolph btw Roddenberry was kept on as adviser for Star Trek II but was marginalized & had no influence after spending too much $ on The Motion Picture with mediocre results. He was never given responsibility for another movie. Nick Meyer transformed Trek into a military show & started the trend that's lasted ever since.

  • @FantasticBob7000 After the monumental failure, on so many levels, besides money made, that STAR WARS Ep1 is, don't you think if anyone could have SW Ep2&3 handed to someone else and taken out of Lucas' hands, they would have? Mr. Roddenberry created STAR TREK but was not the one to helm TMP or further movies. You gripe about Nick Meyer, but if not for him, and many others, STAR TREK would have died out long ago and much of the best TV and movies ever never would have happened.

  • Jóféle... csak így tovább!

  • If it's not already planned or in progress, add this to St:Excalibur!!!

  • Ah yes, from Jackill's Starships of the Galaxy by Eric Christensen. Very nice rendering. I'd love to see more.

  • Is the Abbé class sister or brother to the Miranda class?

  • @SR71ABCD While I wouldn't say exactly that it is, it does have a dedicated photon torpedo launcher like Reliant did. But the unlike the Reliant, the Abbe class destroyer was built to provide massive photon torpedo output, similar to FASA's Andor class missile cruiser.

  • I always liked the Abbe Class. Nice job!

  • Wow, That is one good looking ship, and a great vid to match, nice work!

  • thats the protype of the Nebula Class :D looks good ^^

  • sweet vid man

  • This is really professional looking. Nice.

  • Thats a good lookin ship!

  • I like the ship, but god damn those torpedoes pass so close to the bridge when they fly by. Oops targeting error BOOOOOM. Bridge crew dead.

  • That is a cool looking starship!!! :-)

  • THIS MADE MY DAY !!!!!

  • So did you make this animation or is it from a game or something?

  • that looked very professional. i think you should try to make a battle scene with a couple D-7s and a constitution with her next time.....

  • You überrocked the scene!! :D

  • WTF why dont they make a movie with those old fashion ships anymore DAMNIT!

  • @QBMan That's a good question. Movie era was the golden era of Trek

  • @DarkestExecutor TOS movie era, that is.

  • @QBMan They really had the feeling of old clunky battleships, and the uniforms made it feel much more military. Totally agree.

  • @TheJabberwokk Uniforms does not make a military. Even the United States Public Health Service wears uniforms. While they are a uniformed branch of the government and wear rank...they aren't military.

  • @QBMan Yeah! These are my Favorite Star Trek Ships! Miranda, Soyus, Exelsior, Constellation, Costitution, Akula Class!

  • @Lee78072

Yes, your eye for the ships is similar to mine. I enjoyed later Trek, but the Movies 1-6 had the best ships. Design-wise, the later ones had too much curve and not enough angle.

  • was this rendered in some special software, like 3dsmax, or have you written an own engine for this?

  • that was so cool!

  • Great lighting and modeling!

  • that ships was the first design for my ship the sierra class, but then i was thinking the sierra class as a fast battlecruizer. with 4 warp nacalles, 4 type x phazers, 3 forward bays 2 aft bays, and a stock of quantums, youd think it as a battleship, but power is limited you know:D

  • Amazing, the lighting and the movement of the ship where perfect!

  • Very smooth motion.

  • wonderful display there ^^

  • Brilliant!

  • Iszonyat jó :) de már mondtam :P a textura, a fények, a kamera mozgása, a modell, a torpedók... bármi amit egy hozzá nem értő nevén tud nevezni: űber :)

  • Always Great as ever...

  • That's brilliant! Nice work bro!
