As for the debt? They've promised to get the budget back into surplus by the end of the term. If they fail by so much as $1 they'll be kicked out. I can't believe 4 years of Labor has single handedly turned our economy into a back water, from a 22 billion dollar yearly surplus, with 50 billion in the future fund, to 103 billion in debt at the end of last financial year 2011 and counting, not to mention this ludicrous NBN and then taxing the air to pay for it.

@opticalprism Okay so are you comparing $22 million "budget" surplus to $103 billion "federal" debt? Because someone I barely know yelled at me for incorrectly comparing the two.This increase is likely due to that GFC thing we had which we managed to get through (thanks to Labor) with less than a 3% of GDP increase in government debt, compared to the USA which increased twice as much and is still increasing, ours has leveled off (likely also thanks to Labor).

Every time a Labor government, state or federal, comes to power they always rack up billions in debt.

Here's one for all you Labor voters, at present the federal Labor government is borrowing $125 million a day to service a $107 billion gross national borrowing, (DEBT).

That's using a credit card to pay off another credit card, unsustainable!

Third, they've outwardly spoken against heroin injecting rooms and the like, they have no intention of doing that and even if they did, it'd only be for addicts as part of rehabilitation, weening them off and such. Fourth, "union thuggery"...what? What about the unions is "thuggery"? They're there to help workers get a fair go. Labour are bound by them to do the right thing for workers. Liberal has no such requirement, they can let business do whatever.

Really? First off, the carbon tax is on polluting business, not residents. Not even small business, just those who contribute most to CO2 emissions. And there will be a section of government which will police these businesses to ensure they don't scrap jobs to save money, so all they've got is to invest in renewables. Second, the government can't scrap private health, medicare is already mandatory and losing private health will only reduce the revenue it brings in, not increase it.
