Just a quick update in regard to Australian gross national debt, it now stands at 196 billion dollars and Gillard has also lifted the debt ceiling to a 1/4 of a trillion debt ceiling.
Also Dullard forgot to tell you, she popped an extra $2.7 billion on the credit card last week! Hope you don't mind!
#$%&@*# NBN, this thing is going to take us down the same path as America!
Everything before that I haven't mentioned needs more investigation before you can just damn them like that, everything you've said is entirely unfounded and worded for the best scare response. As for the debt? They've promised to get the budget back into surplus by the end of the term. If they fail by so much as $1 they'll be kicked out. There will be more tax in order to do this but that's natural and they are trying to do it in such a way which least harms the people. So again, really?
@opticalprism As a matter of fact, I vote independants, I'm just sick of people like you yelling and screaming demanding a witch hunt against the government when they're doing their best to appease all 22 million people and keep this country from going bankrupt at the same time. If this were a liberal government, would you be shouting the same things? If not then shut up and wait for the next election. If there is any proof to these statements, then educate us without the scaremongering.
@Nyaliva Of course we want a witch hunt, we've been lied to again by Labor!
I can't believe 4 years of Labor has single handedly turned our economy into a back water, from a 22 billion dollar yearly surplus, with 50 billion in the future fund, to 103 billion in debt at the end of last financial year 2011 and counting, not to mention this ludicrous NBN and then taxing the air to pay for it.
I'm sorry, but are all Labor voters completely ignorant of the facts, or void of reality, (Stupid)!
@opticalprism Okay so are you comparing $22 million "budget" surplus to $103 billion "federal" debt? Because someone I barely know yelled at me for incorrectly comparing the two. This increase is likely due to that GFC thing we had which we managed to get through (thanks to Labor) with less than a 3% of GDP increase in government debt, compared to the USA which increased twice as much and is still increasing, ours has leveled off (likely also thanks to Labor).
@Nyaliva You need to stop listening to other people and start researching the facts.
You know a bad government when they start blaming the GFC and natural disasters for wasting billions of tax payers money on failed stimulus schemes like pink bats, school halls, $900 dollar hand outs.
And now this other BS like Carbon tax & NBN.
The other issue is a inflexible work force, unions demanding more & more while business owners go bust. This is unsustainable and the problem which now plagues the UK.
@Nyaliva I digress, the main issue at hand, which for some reason seems to elude most Labor voters, is that you need to live within your means.
Every time a Labor government, state or federal, comes to power they always rack up billions in debt.
Here's one for all you Labor voters, at present the federal Labor government is borrowing $125 million a day to service a $107 billion gross national borrowing, (DEBT).
That's using a credit card to pay off another credit card, unsustainable!
@opticalprism I agree that the NBN is a bit of a strange move at this time, but it's cost is like 3% of the budget.
About that last line. First of all, I said I vote independants, I'm always open to the facts, I'd just rather be told calmly than have it yelled in my face with ambiguous wordplay and no proof. I can't take you seriously until you remove your own sense of self-satisfaction, which brings me to secondly, your last line shows you don't care about the facts, only that you're right.
Third, they've outwardly spoken against heroin injecting rooms and the like, they have no intention of doing that and even if they did, it'd only be for addicts as part of rehabilitation, weening them off and such. Fourth, "union thuggery"...what? What about the unions is "thuggery"? They're there to help workers get a fair go. Labour are bound by them to do the right thing for workers. Liberal has no such requirement, they can let business do whatever.
Really? First off, the carbon tax is on polluting business, not residents. Not even small business, just those who contribute most to CO2 emissions. And there will be a section of government which will police these businesses to ensure they don't scrap jobs to save money, so all they've got is to invest in renewables. Second, the government can't scrap private health, medicare is already mandatory and losing private health will only reduce the revenue it brings in, not increase it.
A carbon tax, taking money out of an energy source that is expected to be depleted in 60 years and putting it into renewable.
Sex changes for people who genuinely need one, not the only expansion of medicare on the agenda, such as 3.2 billion into dental care and increased funding for staffing of mental health.
Unions, because workers getting fair pay doesn't matter.
A minor tax on inheritance to raise state revenue, because the Coalition and Labor parties sold all of that off!
All of that literally sounds good to me, especially the bit about union thuggery. My workplace needs more of that to be honest. Making the junkies shoot up at a safe injecting room instead of my local train station's toilet doesn't sound too bad either. So what you're saying is I should vote Green right? Done and done!
The sooner we get a Carbon Tax the better! Nothing will drive the growth and roll out of renewable technologies and the cleaning up of existing polluting processes like a carbon tax.
MANY if not most of this party's incomplete policy agenda comprise GREAT ideas on-paper .. in-theory .. BUT which won't EVER see the light of day, in practice & on a real-world, gravitas, pragmatic basis. Another thing that worries many voters is that The Greens are a LIGHTNING ROD which attracts every extremist, far-out, left-leaning LOONIE. And even creaky old Communists too .. & there's more than several of them ALREADY in elected-power in this party. This party will die when Bob retires ..
@colindominy If the Greens will "die" when Bob retires why are so angry about them? Just chill out and they'll disappear... right? Hahaha just kidding, we both know the Greens are only beginning to make their presence felt. About time too!
Brown......you will see the viciousness of the Australian public soon....you're the one that is to blame for all the division, discord and chaos in the Liberal/National and Labour Parties.
You are a charming but deviate activist hiding behind a suit!
I promise you, there will be so much hatred towards you, you will regret even being a politician!
The Reds are hiding amongst the Greens hoping everyone's politically color blind
Communism only works at the tribal level.
The Greens won't be happy until we have thrown ourselves back to an age where our standard of living would be more akin to that of a tribe on 'Survivor'.
I'm actually a swinging voter, so don't have strong biases either way, but must say this is ill informed, misrepresentative rubbish. Got get a life and maybe question your biases and hard heartless views on life.
I'm so glad, I spent ages looking for some unfounded scaremongering. I sure am lucky, if this brilliant advert hadn't corrected the errors in my thinking I might have found myself voting for expanded welfare! What a terrible waste! I mean those poor people are already good for nothing, no matter how much help they get from wonderful wealthy tax payers like me they will always be hopeless. Education is useless!
@genista2001 your s retard whos gonna waste there vote on the greens( the greens will screw our ecnomey over so much more then any1 else so will make australia a shit hole)
And you're really calling the Greens nazis? If you're going to throw insults you may as well pick some that make at least a little sense. The nazi's were a far right-wing fascist party, which is almost the exact opposite of what the greens are.
lol union thuggery....

@Nyaliva Do you actually know what the difference between budget surplus and federal debt is?
Obviously not being a naive closed minded Labor green voter!
I can't believe there are so many uneducated Australians out there, blindly putting their very future at risk, at this point in time.
Open your eyes & ears and educate yourself and vote accordingly.

@Nyaliva Please, do not take my word on anything, as I said to you previously, do your own research.
Do not, I repeat, DO NOT listen to others, find the facts and make a informed decision.
Ambiguous, interesting adjective, I think my comments were pretty clear and straight to the point!
Self satisfaction, yes I like to be informed.
Your lack of understanding does frustrate and your naivety disappoints.
For your information the Independents are aligned with Labor and have been for some time!

Scrapping =/= true, and what's wrong with public anyway?
MEANS TESTED welfare. If you lose both your arms don't come crying to us when other parties give you nothing.
The injecting rooms are not legalisation, it's monitoring!
With the greens in Labor seats: DECREASE in union "thuggery"
LESS debt thanks to the stimulus that both parties worked out
