The 200K per job is not out of thin air - it's simple math. The stimulus is supposed to create roughly 4 million jobs, according to President Obama. It costs roughly $800 billion. $800 billion divided by 4 million is roughly $200,000 job.
The entire 800 million is not devoted to the creation of 4 million jobs. One-third of it is tax cuts, One-third of it is relief to the states(which would certainly fire thousands of people because hundreds just in my state alone are already being forced to take leave without pay), and One-third for infrastructure,energy investments, etc. But you already knew that. Thats why conservatives lose so often. You debate like children. All that yelling doesnt change the ass whooping McCain got. Grow up.

Actually, the entire point of the stimulus is to stimulate the economy...not necessarily job creation, though job growth will occur based on the multiplier effect of the influx of cash. Most economists would agree that the multiplier effect of a (sizable) stimulus will have a greater impact on the economy rather than tax cuts! It's a fact. Job creation is a secondary benefit of the stimulus.
To stimulate the economy to do what? Lose jobs? While ultimate economic growth will be measured in rate of GDP, success will be gauged in the number of jobs created/loss and the overall unemployment rate. This is why Obama is so focused on the number of jobs he is creating, and not on trying to make predictions on GDP.
And you're confusing "opinion" with "fact". What you're really saying is that some (not most) economists agree in their opinion. Those economists are called "Keynesians".
Is this *MAGIC MONEY* that you refer to as "influx"? The last time I checked, most money comes from people who EARN it by working at JOBS! You have some good points, some bad. First, people do need to "accept Jesus as Lord and Savior" and all that stuff. However, try not to say that God honors America because of it's "Christianity". No, God honors those who follow Him through is Son. It says in I Peter that Christians are the "chosen nation, a people set apart be God", not America.

I think each pres. has his own war to fight. The upperclass do need bigger tax cuts, believe it or not. These are the ones who provide jobs. If all their money goes to pay taxes, what about employees raises, bonuses, hirings? Even CNN said the rich are getting fewer because they already pay most of the taxes in America.

The stimulus package is nothing. It's only about 1.5 Trillion so far.
The Fed has secretly created another $10 Trillion and given it to banks. The Fed does not answer to Congress nor the President, per Greenspan. It seems to answer to Goldman-Sachs and Citigroup.

what is acorn? it is a REAL grassroots organization that challenges banks to stop redlining poor neighborhoods so they can see new development of housing, schools, health care centers and daycare. they want to stop real estate speculators from declaring neighborhoods closest to the downtown areas so they can push eminent domain with the hopes of gentrifying the neighborhoods. who really hates acorn, big banks,real estate speculators, and the politicians who pocket their donations!

How does Obama's debitilus act aka "stimulus" creates PRIVATE SECTOR JOBS? That's a very simple question. Five million people are out of work. Obama originally said his "stimulus" will create "OR" save 2.5 million jobs. Notice the word OR. So how will Obama's debtilus joke save jobs in the private sector or create them for that matter? The 200K per job is not out of thin air - it's simple math. The stimulus is supposed to create roughly 4 million jobs, according to President Obama. It costs roughly $800 billion. $800 billion divided by 4 million is roughly $200,000 job.

The entire 800 million is not devoted to the creation of 4 million jobs. One-third of it is tax cuts, One-third of it is relief to the states(which would certainly fire thousands of people because hundreds just in my state alone are already being forced to take leave without pay), and One-third for infrastructure,energy investments, etc. But you already knew that. Thats why conservatives lose so often. You debate like children. All that yelling doesnt change the ass whooping McCain got. Grow up.

The entire point of the stimulus is job creation. That's why they call it a "stimulus" package, because it's supposed to stimulate the economy and create jobs.
This isn't about who won or lost the election. _THAT'S_ a childish viewpoint of the very valid concerns that nearly 2/3 of Americans have with this course of action.

Again,i hate to have to say this, but don't be a child. The stimulus package was intended to help halt the downward spiral of the economy by stimulating demand. Obviously demand and consumer confidence will suffer in an environment of high unemployment but that wasn't the only issue. If Obama had allowed those states to fire all those people or even to cut off unemployment and food stamp aid,you'd be here whining about that. He made the hard choice to do what was unpopular. Ya'know like an adult

Actually, the entire point of the stimulus is to stimulate the economy...not necessarily job creation, though job growth will occur based on the multiplier effect of the influx of cash. Most economists would agree that the multiplier effect of a (sizable) stimulus will have a greater impact on the economy rather than tax cuts! It's a fact. Job creation is a secondary benefit of the stimulus.

To stimulate the economy to do what? Lose jobs? While ultimate economic growth will be measured in rate of GDP, success will be gauged in the number of jobs created/loss and the overall unemployment rate. This is why Obama is so focused on the number of jobs he is creating, and not on trying to make predictions on GDP.
And you're confusing "opinion" with "fact". What you're really saying is that some (not most) economists agree in their opinion. Those economists are called "Keynesians".

Tax cuts allow businesses to grow and expand, thereby creating MORE jobs. Raising taxes on businesses penalizes success and destroys insentive.
