  • I like that pedal at 2:27. Barenboim often uses pedal in a personal way.

  • This is awesome.

  • one of my favorite movement to play :)

  • At 9:23 my arms would have to be tied to my chair to prevent me from clapping.

  • I'm playing this for my college audition 2 days from now.....Seeing this, I realize that I'm going to fast and trying to rush it. I'm almost attempting to chunk the entire movement.....I need to loosen up and relax. A little rubato and variation won't kill me. Thank you, Barenboim.

  • I agree gofeekathy thi is best version

  • Love this version!

  • i asked our head of music can you play this? he said i havn't played it in years but ill try.... i heard 4 mistakes. i hate him soo much

  • Holy $@&#%*^+}] how did he play so good?

  • I'm learning this right now I wish I could play like him. I also made piano videos. Just type Eric yap piano

  • Excellent, although not quite how I would perform the piece. Maybe when I am his age I will differently...

  • @jgoodwin545 What?

  • @MrAdriandipsf Maybe when I'm older I'll feel differently about the piece. I'm sure Barenboim has been playing this for many years and has a lot of more life experience than I do.

  • JEBAĆ ACTA !!!!

  • scary good.

  • Daniel rocks

  • Too romantic but probabely it's only because in my opinion is too slow.

  • my favourite part is from 1:50 - 2:25

  • @HausOfDamien It's everyone's favorite part :/

  • Beethoven's music is divine...

  • Kind of feel like emulating this for my performance. Probably my fave recording of this movement.

  • Ist mir zu langsam.. ich würde mir das von Perahia wünschen

  • yes! Some notes not in time! So Baremboim is not the beast! ;)

  • @ygviDJUBH that is because its his own interpretation, his own style, so is Baremboim playing it, and that is what makes him a beast

  • my fav part is 2:25, some notes not in time, but still perfecto!)

  • The part at 1:50 is awesome:)

  • My favorite part was from 0:01 to 9:29

  • Noone understood Beethoven music more than Barenboim! I love it listening to him!

  • @Raphilan I agree. Barenboim is the best Beethoven player

  • una persona nunca pudo tocar esta sonata

  • 7:20 is best part =)

  • Lovely sound that the typical Barenboim makes

  • Lovely sound that the typical Barenboim makes.......

  • thank you for the sound quality

  • love this like if lady gaga marry the night brought you here

  • This is pure bliss.

  • If the world ends that ONE person tat disliked this will be the first to go.

  • @Mintcubes but it isn't also a piece you have to exercise for months; i suppose a quite good 16- or 17-yo piano student could play it aswell, perhaps not exactly as good as barenboim, but without too much mistakes

  • If Lady Gaga worked a little on the piano she could definitely play this song!

  • @6MusicForever A little? A lot, a lot, and a lot....

  • @6MusicForever Correction. This is not a song, okay? No one's singing.

  • @6MusicForever Oh, and I have to agree with MisterYoupinet. It takes quite a long time to master this masterpiece. This is not just an ordinary piece.

  • hahem did i miss something or he forgot a part of the sonata?

  • @lePistolero Do you mean the part at 3:36 were he leaves the grave part out? Some scores have a repeat sign at the start of the allegro part and some don't, which means that you go all the way back to the start. Freddy Kempf did this, you can easily tell because of the length of the videos, this one being 9 and a half minutes and Freddy's being 10 and a half.

  • @NCONiall Yeah i was talking about that part. My teacher told me that there were different score... so it's ok; Thx for your answer

  • 3:25 to 3:31 is so unforgiving....

  • MAKES ME FEEL ALMOST THERE!!!

  • y r old guys always so good at piano -.-

  • @100010042 because they've had a lot of time to practice! :P

  • I'd recommend everyone watch Freddy Kempf's interpretation; he pours emotion into that piece as if Beethoven's soul is perpetuated into his hands.

  • @Atlantis8788 i think ur right this interpretation is too soft-much more like mozart to me

  • I could listen to this all day long.

  • at 1:17 and around 30seconds, it sounds so similar to mozarts fantasia in d minor

  • 好好聽喔

  • Wonderful..

  • simplly....wonderfull..!!

  • it's so tough to keep the allegro molto e con brio part soft...yet barenboim does it so masterfully and still keeps the passage so well-articulated. perfect.

  • Wunderful performance! Great video!!!

  • Great !!!

  • incredible

  • He looks a bit stiff-handed, but what an amazing performance!!!! I thought the opening was a bit too soft and lacked gravity, but who am I to criticize?

  • outstanding performance!

  • barenboim is beast

  • @teammurphyyugioh beethoven is better

  • awsome!!!
