@truthislove911 She said this was in homage to the oppression of the afghan women and people not the oppression of women in the US. There's always one of you.
FWIW, there was an all-female flight crew flying a KC-135 back in Sep or Oct 2003, flying out of Diego Garcia in support of OEF. I was the Intel officer giving them their pre-mission briefs.
So if you did this in 2007, you weren't the first, by about 4 years.
truthislove911 seems to have some issues. There is nothing wrong with showing achievments related to our gender. It IS about women and thier achievments in this case. you can find all kinds of achievments based on race and gender all over the place in this forum. HUMANS receive recognition for a variety of amazing accomplishments. be careful not to get stuck in your testosterone pool and choke on your own fluids.
thats pretty cool you rarely see something like that . im all for the fact women should be able to do any job us men do because i ve seen some really strong women in jobs like firefighting and shoot they could kick some male firefighters ass. so yeah keep up the good work.
I hope one day we have an all UAV fighting force so that Air Force members will not be subjected to Commanders such as presented in this video displaying an open bias of femalization. It is disgusting and a direct violation of Title 10 USC, General Military Law--Unlawful discrimation. This Commander is displaying tribute to members based on sex. Its pathetic a Commissioned Officer in todays military. Wish I could state my name, however I am enlisted with a family and I have watch what I say.
Had this been a male commander paying tribute about his all male crew there would be an outrage, and possible disiplinary actions would ensue. Its one thing to pay tribute to the operations the crew performed; however an entirely different matter to note any relevance towards the crews sex, origin, color, background etc. I have a loving wife and daughter, so I like to see women advance but not because of their sex--rather their abilities--and I don't like show boating!
Nothing like showing people how "different" and all-female crew is to bring about equality and a cohesive unit. If you toot your own horn it looks pretty arrogant and sets you apart from the very group in which you want to be included. Think about it.....
I know one of the pilots and that flight was conducted in Nov 2001 and SCE2AUX below is incorrect since that flight was 31 Jan 03. Wording is what would get anyone. The 2001 flight was in support of OEF while the 2003 flight was in support of OEF but conducted over Afghanistan. However I caution anyone out there because of all the female pilots now flying, there were more than just these two. It probably happens more than people know.
I think that I get where there coming from. but isn't it bigoted in itself to say, essentially; "Oh look. They're women and they can still do their jobs." Am I a chauvinist for giving them no more, or no less credit and respect than I would any other crew? Is there more to this than the political point to be made over the skies of the Middle East? If not, then I get it.
There are some rough comments on here...but no matter...these women are my heroes!
To those that have made rough comments, it's your right to say what you please...because of our men and women in uniform defending your right to say what you wish!
yo dude this is a big deal.i work with kc- 130j models and we have three female pilots and they are some of the most respected officers in the squadron.

C-5s wouldn't need tankers to get the job done. The C-17 is overrated, overexpensive, crap.

This was probably not the first all-female KC-135 crew. Google "1st Lt. Alison, Capts. Heather and Waynetta and, Senior Airman Lyndi"
SCE2AUX 4 years ago 2
props to them, it's better than being a med-ho!
