the AUX Channel Strip that wired to Ableton should be set to output at any BUS you choose. Create a new Audio Track (mono / stereo doesnt matter) and set the Input BUS to the same one that the AUX was set to. Then simply hit record. No need for bouncing.
@stealth313 Perfection!! Thanks for sharing that on my page. Guess I need to make a video for that so people can understand it and see it visually. Thank you again.
does this work with reason too. i mean in that way? i know you can record midi from reason into logic but i just wanna make a song in reason and record it into logic just as you did here.
You can hear the bass phasing in Logic (check out 2:00 and 2:08) and in the bounce (3:18 and 3:22). I'm guessing somehow the audio is feeding back on itself. It's the same type of phasing I get when I forget to turn off the Local Control on my keyboard controller. Is there a way to keep this from happening?

@armenjc One thing i noticed after doing this exercise is I had to adjust the sample in Live in the Sample Display and continue to fudge with the Warp Mode to clean it up and prevent it from phasing. A very annoying process when you input the sample at the correct tempo and length and at times Live will decide a different tempo, length, and one has to adjust the Warp Mode so it does not have that drag & phasing sound throughout. Does not happen a lot but it does. hope this helped.
@adamriviere Hey, could I record vocal tracks in Logic using the effects in Ableton? And could I record Ableton's softsynths through Logic, or do I have to record them in Live and use this process? (Sorry if this stuff is 101, I'm completely new to this.) Thanks in advance!
@curty817 The method of recording vox tracks with the use of Live's FX in Logic is possible, yes. The same goes for the synths. Take advantage of the application Soundflower (free download online) which will help you route audio from Live directly into an Audio Track in Logic. For the synths if you want to keep that melody file as MIDI just remember to record in Live to have that file available for future use. Message me and I will discuss other help options from me. Good Luck!
hey :) is this possible.......i have many finished tracks in logic and i would love to play them live can i import my kicks, hats, synth etc etc from logic into live to be triggered in a live performance, would love to see a video if it possible THANKS ADAM
@mrtechno2u of course it is possible! And actually quite simple to do... when I have time to create that vid i will send you a message. Or if you want to do it sooner i can walk you through the steps no problem. Either way is fine and always glad to help.

I'm a trumpet player and I'm starting to get into this process, really bad with it....basically want I want is to use the sounds and fx of Logic, but to be able to sample, so I though I could use the ableton...is that possible?
@diegoeddierguez yes it is possible: with the use of soundflower you can route signal from Mainstage (which contains all of Logic Pro's plug-ins, fx, etc.) into Live and record all of that in Live. Just make sure to open Live first then Mainstage otherwise Mainstage will control the clock. Send me a message if you need further explanation or rather a walkthrough to do the process. good Luck!
with the i/o utility one can route signal from live directly into logic. of course you need a hard wire from one channel to the other to do it. I am searching for a method to route directly without hard wire connection... will post a video once i find such a method. Sorry i do not have an answer now but am working on it.
@barnyahse also you can use SOundflower to route signal from Live into Logic. Have Logic Input source as SOundflower and Live's output source as soundflower andyou should be able to do it that way if desired.
there is a way to record samples, clips, and scenes into a channel in logic if such is what you are asking? that way you can take that voice (whatever it may be) and manipulate it within Logic. Send me a message and i will walk you thru the steps necessary.
yeah that would be awesome if you could tell me how to do that! im trying manipulate an audio signal through logic. doesn't necessarily have to be real time. i just want to be able to send an audio signal into logic directly and record it add effects and not necessarily use bounce. and then either resample it in ableton or whatever.
what i mean to say (i think im being vague) is i want logic to be like ableton with regards to recording audio from rewire in the session view or arrangement view. so that the process is done compleely within the program and i dont have to render or bounce or use any external applications (including putting things on the desktop) thanks!!!
A great method of utilizing the power of Logic Pro within Ableton Live is to take advantage of the application "MainStage." With that you can utilize ALL of the effects and processors within Logic and route MainStage via Soundflower into Live. Unfortunately you are once again using an external program to connect with Live, but once you setup your template in MainStage you are good to go in Live. Let me know if such a process interests you and I will create a vid or contact me to get you rockin!
Hey Adam just wanted to suggest a quicker way.

thank you very much for this and the rewire video
very, very helpful
I just came up with a great percussion sequence in Live and wanted to process it in Logic

is there anyway to record it into logic directly, without exporting first? like i do with reason into ableton by pressingthe record button?
