  • Bicycle repair man!!

  • Where did u get that pouch i've been looking all over for it and what it called

  • What's with the supermen at 2:02 ?

  • @Strtsmrt2k10 It's Monty Python :) --> yaddatube/watch?v=U01xasUtlvw

    Doesn't work with full url...

  • c'mon i can can do this and i am 12

  • @TheVidsbids2012 im 14 3 dayold bike and PUNCHER ALREADY T^T

  • Great info. I'm about to change out the old tires on my wifes three wheeler, after 35 years we go so cracked rubber on the tube.

    Ray Escondido

  • everyone i know just uses slime tire sealant and we don't ever have to worry about fixing flats. Slime has been the best sealant i have ever tried and the satisfaction guarantee on all of their products proves it. seriously the peace of mind is great and well worth the 5-10 bucks! for my mountain bike to my road bike, i have even used the slime kits for my car tires and it has saved me twice now! i am a loyal customer and just spreading the word because it is such a great product!

  • The position of the puncture with regards to the valve would have directed you exactly here the problem was on the tire. Ans who caries a crayon? Ball points do write fine on butyl.

And as far as solvent is concerned, you wait till it is dry, not tacky.

  • damn ready for anything, does that repair kit come with a extra seat and bike chain as well? xD

  • The patch can stick to the ridges.I just repaired my kids puncture on his bike.

  • i prefer to give 5$ for a new puncture

    LOL YOU FAIL!!!!OWNED

  • 2:04 WTF!!

  • Great Video I sent it to me old Mucker he keep's geting puncture's

  • Please, tell me - do you stick the patch with the rough rubber side up or down?

  • ok theres that and theres buying the slime for the tire. its a substance u can buy at any bike or any store that sells tools for cars its green and its way easyer and cheaper than buying the inertube all u have to do is buy it apply it and ull never ever get a flat again garanteed ill put up a vid showing it if u message me and ill walk u through it step by step in the video.

  • Oh no, I got the "snake bite" in the tube on those ridges, now how do I patch it? Oh, I got another tube but the valve is too short on it, it's just to bad for my bike.

  • thanks mate...

  • does anyone know how 2 remove the trye without tyre levers?

  • read my comment and you'll know

  • yes use a spoon or your hands but dont use knives or forks

  • yes pinch the tyre with your thumb and finger and push over the edge of the rim

  • Comment removed

  • use two old spoons works a treat

  • 1:29 says deflate tire completely. But you dont show the proper method. The air locks the tire onto the rim. To fully loosen the tire hold the tire against the ground or a wall while deflating it and you'll get more air out of the tube. If you make a practice of fully deflating the tire you won't need tire levers to remove the tire. All you have to do is tear the tire down from the rim. I know---I've been using this method now for years and it works.

  • what kind of glue do you use????

  • how can i remove that little thingy where you put the air in to put in slime

  • use the core remover in your slime kit.

  • yea i know but i meant without one of those

  • if you threw away the core remover then you deserve a medal.......dumbest mechanic EVER!!!!

  • i didnt throw it away you dumb fuck it was plastic and it broke so you deserve a medal for being fuckin stupid

  • Armstong bridge i live 100 yards from there!!!

  • Thanks, that helped alot.

  • 2:03 was the Bicycle Repairman skit from Monty Python!

  • cool i'm gonna use baby powder

  • What ppl dont know is that its more important 2 check and clear the tire B4 you install the patched tube. What good is fixing a flat if the thorn is still in the tire?? Always spray some water into the tire and feel with your fingers around the inside of the tire.. Do a couple of laps inside the tire. I get the creeps when I install a patched tube and I cant find the thorn. What ever gave you that flat is going to give you another one until you remove it!

  • @ryanhoyt931 He does.

  • man all u need is a screwdriver and the repair patch and i can fix it and u dont need to take out the whole tire what a waste of time.

  • if its the back tire then you dont really have to take it off but the front tire is pretty easy

  • SO THATS WHAT THAT DAMM CHLAK IS FOR, finally it took me years to find out what it was for.

  • This video seems to skip inserting the tube back into the tyre? I figure its one of the hard parts...

  • thats the easy bit

  • really helpful - thanks - bet its not as easy as u make it look tho!!!

  • after my like 30th puncture i find this video... :| thanks you tube >=|

  • Really good video, very helpful indeed. Thanks :)

  • Never repaired a puncture until today, thanks this vid was just what I needed

  • Great vid, helped me out.

    Thanks! 5 stars.

  • Anybody got any idea why my rear wwheel has a flat spot since I fitted a new tube?

  • you probably didnt seat the tire before inflating it. Always use soapy water or regular water when replacing tire. Soapy water on the rim helps the tire seat squarely on the rim. Check the seating indicator line on the tire before you install it.

  • Thanks. I'll have another go at it and try to solve the problem.

  • Don't u have to wait 5 minutes after you put the glue up?

  • has anyone tried my wrap stretch and poke method

of sanding a tube? I need some feedback.

    thanks

  • Good Job!

  • Great vid! my BMX had a puncture and this method worked. thanks for the advice about the chalk, on my old bike the inner tube got stuck to the tyre :(

  • why biiiig boom? is it possible that the tyre inflated outside the wheel?

  • the tyre litteraly exploded infront of my ears

  • I thought of a good name for my method of sanding a tube.....the wrap, stretch and poke method.

  • whats this reply box do anyway???

  • oh....well now i know dont I!!!

  • I find most patch failures occur from poor sanding. For a thorough sanding wrap the tube round a sign pole, stretch the tube towards you and place your index finger under the hole. Use your finger as a base and sand on top of finger while you roll finger around under the hole

  • go ryan

  • syd1940.mine was in the front!!!

  • I noticed how you didn't show the most difficult bit, how to put the tyre back on the wheel again, oh, it just presses in again no problem does it? I'M REALY ANGRY!!! (repairing puncture).

  • Depends which tyre, of course. My MTB ones go back on no problem. Same for most of my road ones. The odd one is difficult. But I'll add the subjct to my list so thanks.

  • @Bedsitdweller Always soap up the rim and tire when you mount a tire on a rim. The soapy water lubricates the tire and it slips on and squares off on the rim a lot easier. You usually won't need tire levers either if you use this method. Try IT !!!

  • @Bedsitdweller You can tell from the bloke's gay accent that he thinks it's all bloody obvious - which means he doesn't know how to TEACH.

Minor little things like how you actually put the tyre back on the wheel don't matter to him, he thinks you should somehow know that already, just because HE does.

  • @Bedsitdweller +1 for it being easy to put tyres back on. I've gone through about 20 different brands of tyre over the last few years and only one has been difficult to get back on and I still managed without tools.

  • Oh, I see, yes, good idea. I'll add it to the list of vids to do. Weldtite pay sponsorship to enable me to di them. I have a bunch of standard job vids to do then I go on to 'series 2' one ie more advanced techniques. I guess tubeless tyres could go in there. Thanks.

  • Sorry, AController, could you rephrase the question please.

  • Sorry for being vague, what I mean to say is how to repair tubular tyres, those without tubes. They are also called singles or tubeless tyres that gets glued to the rim.

    Cheers

  • Tubular tyres do have tubes in them. There is a rubber inner tube sewn into the casing of the tyre. I've never done it, but you basically cut the casing open, repair the tube with a patch, and sew it back up. Tubless is a completely different system altogether.

  • Very helpful, btw do you have one for singles tyres puncture repair?

  • KUDOS! Veri informative and helpful vid!

  • Thanks a lot again!!!!

  • Just one criticism - punctures are ALWAYS in the back wheel. Well it seems like that :o)

  • just do the procedure as with the front, just add the chain element there.... hope this helps

  • i got a puncture in my front wheel of my bmx

  • Astonishing!

  • Not bad at all!

As a one-time professional bike mechanic and teacher of bike maintenance this is quite good and useful. Two small niggles:-

Perhaps a stronger emphasis on getting the QR done up properly? and

Perhaps a bit more on putting the bead back into place without pinching the tube and emphasize that tyre levers should not be used for refitting except in extreme circumstances.

  • Thanks, Francis. It's always hard to know where to pitch learner stuff like this. How much should or shouldn't be taken for granted? Carlton

  • Cool - I learned something new!

I am ashamed to admit that I never realised what the hooks on tyre levers were for. Now I know they are there to hook onto the spokes and stop the lever from springing out from under the bead. Thanks!!!
