@gbraae Well, they're really different styles. Glee is full fledged Show Choir, and these guys are just a bit choreographed. You can tell a MAJOR distinction between their styles =P

@tmac3323 These guys are also real students who do this in their spare time. They write their own arrangements, work out their own choreo, and book their own shows. This group is student directed, has been around, continuously, since 1948. The current members are in Beijing as we speak - performing for the people there. Glee is what it is. It's a Hollywood production. I'm not dissing it, but these guys are so legit it's almost laughable to compare them.

However, getting dropped on the dance floor from some disco lift gone horribly wrong - right in front of the entire marching band, and 20 other bands in Washington DC - not my fondest memory of the era. Ouch!

Such a fun piece ! I had to suffer through the actual Disco era. (Yes, you have old stalkers, too. Ew!) The only thing good about Disco was that it weeded out the real CLODS. Those and the jerky guys who were just too "cool" to even give it a try. (read - chicken, and trying to cover it up with false macho). Disco was good for leaving a girl with just the good dancers, and the good GUYS who were willing to give it a try - and have fun.

Do you really think you would just sit and stay quiet if you were watching these guys live? I went to UC Berkeley and watched the Octets in my year perform and the whole point of their shows is not only to sing well, but to also entertain the audience. That's why they do the funny lyrics and the hilarious dance moves. I'm sure the Octet members appreciate it when the audience gets their humor.
