Tatyana is in this book main hero from choice of people. The reason to replace text of book, coz original text was: russian folk lazy, Napoleon better, so even if this is terror of words, prince Philip they say in polish news speaks many stupid words and new Pushkin with great title is lost russian history of XX reality as well, gruss for polish Vlad name of my grad grand father!
Why not? Tchaikovsky wrote an opera based on Pushkin's Evgenij Onegin, but that doesn't mean that a filmatisation of the drama has to use Tchaikovsky's music, if that was what you meant? This music actually seemed like a good choice to me!
And script-writers probably also have no idea about those times. Sad, very sad. but maybe someday real talent will find the way to rise above this dullness. and people won't admire these kind of movies, where is only mascaraed of old centuries.
How the music from Romeo and Juliet (Montague and Capulet theme)appeared inthe video of Onegin?
More and more I realize that all those movies which script is based on such masterpieces as Onegin, War and peace or such as Jane Ostin, or new movie of Pride and prejudice don\t cost a thing, they are so empty, actors are not talented enough to play these epic personage.
Of course it is always wonderful that Prokofiev's music is honored, but Prokofiev himself wrote music for Yevgeni Onegin - and wonderful music - so why not use it for the occasion?
Thanks for your comments. But there are two vids more I used Prokofievs Onegin music: "Tatyana's Letter to Onegin" and "Onegin - Waltz". Perhaps you like this more....:-)

You can always tell when it's Prokofievs, it has a peter and the wolf sound to it always.

Please take a look: I use the music on other "Onegin"-Vids.

Only in the letter from Onegin to Tatyana.
A pity. Because I find the Romeo & Julia and the Cinderella excerpts not fitting.
Prokofiev reused a lot of his music for different purposes, but I suppose he felt intensely which emotion the music expressed.
You chose wonderful excerpts but not quite suited for the occasion, sorry.
