@BaldursGate2Jonaleth When you're a kid, you get them from your Aunts and Uncle's stashes. As an adult, you get them from drinking them yourself, or you buy Crown Royal as a present and keep the bags. That reminds me...
I just started DMing, with my kids, (just not too hardcore) however, I am still puzzled on how Power Cards work when it comes to ATTACK rolls. The PHB doesn't make it clear IMO p.57. If it says DEX vs AC, does that mean you add your Ability score to your roll, or you add your Ability Modifier bonus to roll? Thanks.
@Grayhatt Any time a power refers to "ABILITY" vs a defense, you add the referred ability modifier, plus any bonuses that you might have, including your character's level divided by 2 (rounded down). For example, a character with a 20 Strength (and thus a +5 modifier) making a melee Strength vs. AC attack with a longsword at 1st level would yield a total modifier of +8. That's +5 from the ability, +0 from the character's level, +3 from the proficiency bonus of a longsword.
@forcedemon Thanks. I was just confused because our lv1 characters kept missing their powers, so I was wondering if they were doing it wrong, but I guess not. So essentially, most power cards are the same as a basic attack with a few additional effects...it seems.
Awsome dude. freaky thing is: we have the same skin color, i have that umberto eco book and that same exact royal crown bag as a dice bag. For a bit i thought i looked into the future haha jk :)
@narutofan3010 well if you want multiclassing just have it so the entire skill tree for both classes are selectable and let the player choose a limited number of class features(in the class discription) and the basic stats are half way between both class BUT LET EVERYONE DO IT (if they want to)-however you should make some unique monsters to blance it out (the DM can make up his/her own monsters if they want to - and unique monsters ARE AWESOME)
right now, i'm playing a lvl 5 Human Cleric, a lvl 2 dwarf cleric, and a lvl 1 half-elf paladin. I wish my group would play more 4e. Our DM has been drooling over 1e and 2e recently.
What I've found works really well is to get the clear plastic card holder sheets for Magic the Gathering binders, and cut out the cards and put them in there, that way, when you use them, pull them out of the sheet and flip them over. The benefit is that you can pick the sheets up and move them, and you don't loose your used/unused info.
can you show us how to fill out a v3.5 character sheet. i'm just starting and i've already read all the 3.5 stuff, don't feel like moving to 4th now. could you just do this for people like me who are staying with the old.
how do you get the dnd style for those cards?

...Is that a wine bottle bag that you are using to hold your dice? Because it looks
_EXACTLY_ like the one I use to hold MY dice.

I'm logically assuming it is the ability modifier only, but just want to make sure. :o
