  • Marvelous! This made my day!

  • ...a real elegance and sensitivity in his playing..magical

  • @draiocht25 yes, coleman and elegance and especially sensitivity which very few players have. I think it was his sensitivity which set him apart from his contemporaries. There's a lot to be said for it...a lot of well known fiddle players now don't have those qualities at all.

  • Absolutely brilliant.

Michael was truly the greatest fiddle player who ever lived.

Just listening to those trebles would make the hairs stand on the back of your neck.

If he sounds this good on an old 78, imagine how brilliant he would sound on digital.

    From a proud Killavil Man,

    John Henry.

  • ...I have heard that it was often said that he was the greatest fiddler who ever lived.......that it is not possible for a mortal to play better......may be.....I love his music preserved through the miracle of recording......I really love the late Curly Ray Cline, Kenny Baker, Chubby Wise, the legendary Kentucky fiddler Fiddlin' Doc Roberts, Many more....but Coleman was incomparable.....BUT THE IRISH ARE LIKE THAT!!!

  • Brilliant playing. Wish he was still alive to play more tunes.
