if you see they have some rather large teeth, that is def a (Oyster-Cracker) named for its very strong teeth, to be truely honest with you that one isnt as ugly as the ones i catch in new jersey on the marina. if they live in the deep ocean, then the texture of the skin would be less slimy to ones that live in shallow more algae covered water

what 90% of people call a dogfish in america are actually scorpion fish... close cousin to the lionfish, that is a stargazer, and like stated below me it'll give ya a nasty shock but completely harmless. a scorpion fish on the other hand can kill you. the spines on its back are full of neurotoxin which will shut down everything in your body.
