Everyones attention here is so scattered, their energy is scattered. Communicating and being with people who are so grounded in the moment will change you. Maybe the words in the book didn't matter so much because you were able to experience something so much better with people who have a focused intention of living consciously (dont mind my spelling). and you were able to realise that it CAN be that easy.
I imagine you had a very raw human experience. An experience with people who were very aware and in the moment, those that you don't encounter much.. say, here in the bay area.

She didn't turn her head and she spoke in a very natural voice as if she was thinking rather than speaking. I answered immediately and I also felt like I was thinking rather than speaking. So it was as though we weren't speaking to each other so much as thinking to each other. I'm very anxious around people - anxious to the degree that I've taken...

I wonder if it would be possible to relate like that all the time - without any friction? Maybe learning to do so would be what people call 'spiritual.'

You are butterflying from book-bound philosopher to experiencer of nature and other beings. Many "philosophers" end up in the nut house like Nietzsche. I sent a clip from "The Calistra Zipper Story" which is a strange tale about a beautiful young girl full of promise, destined to be a movie star, who suddenly passed away, completely shocking those who had thought they were guiding her future. As a filmmaker, I wanted to transform Calistra's dying into her flying.

I could feel your emotion when talking about your meeting with the Butterfly. What a *meeting*!!
Changing your environment helped you see things more as they are, rather than how you think they should be. This is what past mystics have said is like seeing the sun after the clouds have dissipated. It is the things that you think you know that prevent you from really knowing the moment. If you are in an unfamiliar environment, you will naturally have less expectations, resulting in clarity of the moment. The truth of the moment is always there, but not always accepted.
The ever growing amount of synchronicities and coincidences, you and others have described, speak to what is occuring here. There is a unification of mind, of consciousness, that is allowing us to realize our infiniteness and our connection to all things. This awareness defines our perception of reality. Thus our reality is ourselves, and we are beginning to see more and more of ourselves in every moment of Now. Thanks for the vids, on Esalen; you've inspired me to go.
It's interesting of how every dialogue with other people can be like a dialogue with another of yourself. Makes me think of it as some sort of spiritual connection, like an interconnectedness with the world or the universe, not in a supernatural way, but just like feeling connected to nature and to others.

So once the release point is reached, we will begin traveling back in time at a highly accelerated rate to the beginning of time.... some say the end of that cycle is timewave zero. That's what I think this cable breaking under all this tension represents...
Essentially a vacation is equivalent to doing a hard drive clean up. A week at esalen is equivalent to formatting a hard drive ;) That's why I think you're so free of your thoughts... you transcended them. On to the next level...

Changing your environment helped you see things more as they are, rather than how you think they should be.
