  • I now know MS is in my family history (mom diag.at 77 yrs old). any potential connection ? although statistics say I wont develop MS. What helps me is knowing others have it chronic & function,so should suck it up & not whine.I'd really like a brain scan just to see

  • you really got point Doctor...i got this problem for 4 years now and my gp did not able to help me feel better and did not even told me exactly what iam having they just prescribed me different types of medicine that did not help my case ..thanks for posting this video it helps me to understand what maybe causing me this illness!!

  • help please...i have this vertigo thing and a local celebrity here in my country has this before...then it leads to brain cancer...he died...does it really lead to that?

  • I'm hypothyroid, but also have had vertigo for years. Usually it wakes me up out of a sound sleep. It is so severe, the whole room feels like its spinning FAST. I have been to many different drs over many years. I've been diagnosed with Meniere's by a couple drs. and bppv by others. I can usually position my head at what I call my 11:00 position to help..but keeping your head in that position for hours is terrible. I have no ear noise whatsoever. Never get definite answers :(

  • Hi. Sorry, I listed my T4 as 0.67 and it's the FreeT4. I thought I was saving a word and didn't realize that there is a difference. :)

  • Sorry. At about 0.51 you say they have Menieres in one disease. But you point to your ear so I'm certain you mean in one ear. I was sort of poking fun, but no harm meant. I was just diagnosed with Menieres in May after finding low frequency hearing loss as well as 75% nonfunctioning balance in the left ear. Have fluctuating tennitus, frequent dizziness, ear fullness and brain fog on some days. I was also found to have underactive thyroid .... my T4 was 0.67. On Lo-So, HCTZ 25mg/ Synthroid 125

  • Dr. Clark, can you give me the title of the study and what journal it is published in?

  • If no one reads this study where do I go?! I have vertigo.

  • Menieres in one disease?

  • @RhemasJoy I don't follow you...

  • @clarkchiro OH. Ok, sorry. I finally have it right now with the thyroid tests. Ok. The free t4 was 0.67 and the TSH was 16.21. I've got a little notebook like the one in another vid filled with appointments, orders for labwork, test results blah blah blah. The beast reared it's ugly head in March and I've had problems ever since. :/

  • I suffered a traumatic head injury 20 years ago and have just been diagnosed with menieres is it possible that what you are explaining is the cause or is it more likely from my head injury?

  • I had started raw foood dieting 2weeks ago. Got viral infection. Hadn't eaten bread in years due to the fact that I was trying to lose weight Well, finally, I said to hell with all this dieting, started eating gluten with which I am allergic to(about the time I got the viral infection) and now I have Labrynthtitis, and it's BAD! I agree with you 100%, where are you located???

  • Makes perfect sense Doctor...

  • I am just as well in tears. This is everything i have noticed about myself. I know now i am not crazy and there is a fix for this. It is difficult to live with these symptoms.

  • I have Ringing in my ears, nausia dizzyness tierdness. I knotice stress brings it out the best would this also point to auto immune system as well?

  • @luckyfire3 Not necessarily. Stress can make any person's dizziness, tinnitus worse--whether the cause was autoimmune or not. Stress decreases blood flow to peripheral tissues and causes chemical changes that make nerve cells less efficient.

  • @clarkchiro Dr. Clark I had my third episode of this spaced over 5 yrs apart. When it hits it is like ohhh god not this again...It is quick I have a tilting swooosh effect. I have about 8 min. or so before I am incapacitated. I feel the need to squat low shut my eye's as the light effects me terribly..I feel like a magnet that can move, eyelids heavy, violent vomiting starts, then off to the er in an ambulance.. this time it lasted from 5 in the evening to 11 at night.

  • I cried listening to you because now I know I'm not crazy. I've been suffering from vertigo on and off for a few years now. Every time it comes on, I have severe indigestion problem. Is there a connection there? I don't know if it's because of the vertigo that's causing the indigestion or the other way around. I've been to doctors, but I haven't found someone who could understand what I'm going through. I live in northern CA and I'm not sure who to go to.

  • Hi Dr. Davis,

I am so glad to finally find someone understands what I'm going through. I've been suffering from vertigo on and off for a few years now. Every time it comes, I have severe indigestion problem as well. It usually starts with a migraine. I've gone to the several doctors, because I don't know if it's because of the indigestion that's causing my vertigo or the other way around. It may not even have a connection.

I cried listening to you speak because now I know I'm not crazy.

  • Yes, hearing loss can be caused by autoimmune attack on the inner ear.

  • @clarkchiro It was one in morn. before I could sit up & I have no Ins. bill was large. I have a noise in my ear sounds much like a seashell when you put it to your ears and hear the sea sound..constant... I had noticed my left inner ear was puffy when using a swob compared to left ear & felt like I needed maybe deborex for the ear, or to cone my ears. The hospital said my ear drum was ruptured with infection was surprised that I felt no pain with it...

  • would an autoimmune proboem cause hearing loss? I have menieres but no vertigo for the last three years, but the tinnitus and ear fullness has returned and my hearing loss is such that they recommend a hearing aid. as a musician this i not acceptable, a one eared musician is as good as a one armed violinist

does autoimmune problems account for hearing loss as well as vertigo?

  • Possibly. The "falling backwards"symptoms concern me greatly. Usually that type of symptom points to a bilateral problem in the medulla, cerebellum or midbrain. Now, the immune system could be a factor---there could be an autoimmune attack on the brain that's behind all this. Keep in mind, I am not diagnosing your child nor is this a substitute for actual examination.

  • I have a 7 year old that now experiences a dizziness that he says he feels like he is falling backwards, also complains of jaw pain. He is unable to walk without assistance, and or he crawls. This happened when he was 11 minths old. He started to walk and then quit at 11 months and did not walk again until 20 months old. He finds that being inverted/upside down releives some of the symtoms. Would the functional immune system eval help here?

  • very informative, thank you

  • i have vertigio and i have ms for 14 years. i also had bppv and i had that semi fixed. i can now look up but i still get the occasionjal episode at night

    Doc i need some help

  • hi..i appreciate your help...i have menieres but recently have had symptoms other than ... and went to my dr (who by the way was a new dr as my old one retired) and she wanted to check me for auto immune problems.. and did not try to prescribbe me anything! wow great dr huh! so please send me my 100 dollars thanks

  • I'm happy you found someone to check for autoimmune problems. Now...the question whether they know how to do anything for an autoimmune problem, or if they know how to find one besides looking for antibodies (unreliable). I wish you good fortune.

  • well how should they check?....thanks
