  • seinfeld is a legend

  • I wouldn't give you $0.10c to make that ad. You can't even light your own video.

Btw. when you integrate an OS withone hundred other manufacturers (of which the hardware is not made by your company) then security is the main feature. Yeah it sucks Ok-ing everything but that's Microsoft. If you don't like it then by all means buy a Mac.

  • I recommend turning it off if it bothers you. It doesn't bother me, and it doesn't bother a lot of people. You seem like a Mac kind of guy. Have Apple tell you what is best and make it impossible to deviate from what Apple tells you.

Measuring sales created by advertising campaigns is near impossible. The next best thing to measure is viewership.

And for being a college student, you have piss poor grammar.

  • Strange. 10 million dollars for an ad that was shit, yet everybody is talking about it. The best ads are the ones everybody talks about.

Turn off UAC retard. For being tech support you sure are bad at computing.

What Microsoft is doing is trying to change their image through advertisements, which is a completely legitimate marketing strategy.

  • Why should I have to turn UAC off? If that's what people good at computing do, why did Microsoft even include it in the freaking first-place?! If you recommend turning it off, then you acknowledge there is an issue and Microsoft are to blame.

Just because people are talking about an ad, doesn't mean its going to be driving sales. SALES are the ultimate guide to an ad's success, not talk.

  • You can leave it on OR turn it off. If you were tech literate enough it's a no-brainer. If you have no idea about tech and bought your new PC to simply use the web or for word processing etc. then you shouldn't need to know anything backend. No-one forces buyers to go for Windows.

Ads don't drive sales. Market presence and POS drive sales. If all you ever see are ads (tv, print and in-store) for Windows then you're more likely to buy it. That also includes word of mouth or "talk".

  • LOL linux is the weird kid who's going to go shoot everybody lololol!

  • god thats actually right, microsoft need to concentrate on looking proffesional not kid like

  • Yeah like how McDonald's tries to look professional. Wrong. The younger the market you appeal to, the more loyal you are to that brand long term cos you instictively trust the name. Older people are more sceptical and less likely to be swayed.

  • How many six-year-olds do you know who are buying new PCs? Microsoft's Market isn't kids, its adults. They are the ones with the money, and they are the ones they need to appeal to.

Do you really think Ronald McDonald spruiking Windows Vista will sell PCs?

  • dude u got issues

  • Kids, don't do cocaine. You will end up like this asshole.

  • you faggot. go rethink life.

  • Uh, Seinfeld didn't get paid $10 million for just this one ad. He's getting paid $10 million for the entire ad campaign, which will be comprised of several ads.

  • You mean the two ads before the campaign got canned? Wow, $5 million an ad makes things so much better...

As I said, Microsoft could have done so much better for so much less, as evidenced by their new series of "I'm a PC" ads

  • fuck off with your kooky video you twat.

  • OH SHIT I VOMITED

  • Your a tool (for supporting microsoft), who has just passed puberty.

Microsoft and it's wholesale crapware Operating systems...

Yesss I have had 20 or so years of their game.. and I have had enough...

I have moved everything over to Ubuntu Linux.

No more Microsft "corporate moron" crapware for me.

  • Have fun using anything with Flash.

  • I am - lots of it.

And not a Micropoop Pee Cee in sight.

  • you're a dick

  • Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs

  • Hey man, i feel wut u r saying. That commercial was confusing. Keeep making your videos buddy, u make me laugh. All you guys talking shit about this video, no one forced you to watch it.

  • Personally I think your video was rubbish from the get go but what really made it shit was the fact that you left a full damn minuate of nothingness at the end. Are you really that slow minded to take a full minute to turn off your cam??

  • My Response to Microsoft-Seinfeld ad? Are you for real? And 2,000 people came to watch?! Holy S*** this is heartbreaking

  • In what way are MS trying to emulate the Mac ads with this? There are no similarities at all between the two. You sort of sound like you think Apple is the only company that's "allowed" to promote their stuff.

As for the money they payed Jerry, that's their business. Why would you get angry about something like that?

  • wtf its a piece of electronics....

i use windows and im a underground dance producer :)

  • when i watched your video i was like what the hell you just wasted 4mins and 10 secs of my life

  • Don't blame me, it was your own free choice to watch my video.

Did you really sit through the 40 seconds of blank screen at the end of the video that I forgot to edit out? If you are willing to watch literally nothing you mustn't have much of a life to waste.

  • yep all of it. the last 50secs were as informative as the rest of the video. 10 million for MS is equivalent to like .0001% of the companies worth, its really not that much.

  • 最後に「I heart applemilk1988」と言うメッセージを含むなんて そういう事だけじゃもう死ねばよい感じするんじゃねー。

  • You're a fool. The ads contain a comedy that is clearly beyond you. And anthropomorphizing operating system based on Macintosh's ad campaign is retarded. Microsoft is the nerd? More like the operating system that oh, I dunno, actually works with other software. Macintosh is for people that don't know how to use a computer and for people that want to feel hip or trendy.

Macintosh - great advertising, shitty operating system.

Windows - good advertising, usable operating system.

  • I think you would be surprised by the performance of a Mac if you were a regular user.

I used PCs pretty heavily up until my first year of Uni. I switched to Mac in 2006 and have been so pleased since moving that I definitely wouldn't move back.

I'm an Engineering/Science student, so I can't be classed as the arty, stereotypical mac user. I use my Mac for analyzing data and it works well.

I've have experience with Windows, Mac and Linux and OS X is definitely the easiest to use.

  • Easiest to use? Marginally. Most powerful, definitely not. And performance is more hardware based, not OS based. It sounds to me like you really don't know the workings inside of your box.

  • reread my post. I never said that macs where the most powerful. Power is indeed independent of operating system. But at least we both agree that macs are easiest to use.

    Thanks for your comments.

  • You are correct. A retarded child could use Macintosh. A normal child could use Windows. If you think Windows is hard to use, you're retarded.

  • Im not sure if you have just watched the paralympics that ended recently in Beijing. Your reference to 'retarded' is a great insult to the heroic efforts that were on display for the world to see. I would safely say that the worst athlete at the paralympics would put you to shame. In future if you are looking for a pejorative term perhaps it would be wiser to stick with your name.

  • Because athleticism has everything to do with mental capacity. I'm sure my superior brainpower could put to shame the smartest person at the paralympics. Retarded is a word used in the English language to mean "hindered." So all of a sudden I'm not allowed to use this word because some idiots decided it was politically incorrect? My advice to you, is to quit crying over political correctness. I can't believe I'm arguing with somebody who listens to Coolio. Here is a word for you: nigger.

  • You can´t be serious that you find Vista a good, reliable OS that´s easy to use and doesn´t demand massive hardware? Oh, and I presume that you find the security great aswell? My god, I hope you happy in your little bubble. Keep in mind, different isn´t always bad...

  • Vista is the most secure system I have ever used. In the 18 months I have been using it I have never had any virus or spyware. Not being worth attacking is not the same as being secure.

Massive hardware? Hardly. I'm currently running a 2.6 GHz dual core AMD with 2 gigs of RAM. I did just order 4 more gigs though, curious to see how I can use 6 gigs of RAM.

And did I say Vista exclusively? No, I did not, learn to read. Windows XP is an excellent OS, I just prefer to use newer technology is all.

  • There was the same fuss when XP came out. About how it was terrible and everybody should stick to Windows 98. Vista has many great features. The system-wide integrated search is something that comes right to mind. I personally would choose no other 64 bit operating system.

You're foolish for mentioning security and vista in the same paragraph. Microsoft went a very long ways to make sure they didn't miss anything. Tell me, what major viruses has Vista seen?

  • You can't have more than 4Gb RAM on a 32-bit OS and (4gb max Vista - 3.5Gb Max XP)

  • That's absolutely not true about MAC for people don't know how to computer!! have you used a Mac before?

The ONLY thing i found extremely good with a MAC is running graphics stuff. In fact i would like a MAC to just do graphics stuff and nothing else. However it is way too expensive so i stick with windows.

Believe me try to load 1GB of graphics on a MAC and 1GB of graphics on Windows using photoshop...you know what i mean!!

  • We get it, we get it, mac users are all bongheads. We all saw the ellen fleiss' ads.

  • Btw this dooshbags probably a mac user..O btw MAC just lets you do it alright lets u do nothing..I realize why mACS soo safe because there is no software running that can actually be in danger of being infected

  • This guys a doosh...Shut up and make something better

  • You could have said the same in just 20 seconds. Thanks for wasting my time.

  • hey good video but i don't agree. i thought the add was great, i didn't know what the hell was going on which did exactly what it was supposed to do. make you react to it. BTW i am a fan of Mac, and steve jobbs kicks Gates ass in marketing and advertising.

Kudos to Microsoft for getting edgy and taking a risk

  • The spots hit the stop button so they can reset the conversation on Microsoft. The bickering/commenting on whether its ""good" or not accomplishes the goal regardless.

  • It's 'bored by' or 'bored with.' NOT 'bored of'. Didn't you go to school?

And if you're so down on the 90s, why are you wearing that 90s woolen cap?

  • *sigh*

The name is a play on the phrase "Board of Science" and I go to University, where I study Science :o

Regarding the head gear... In Australia, its called a beanie, they span all periods of time because where I live, it gets cold (we just finished winter here) and it's a Canberra Raiders beanie, which I bought this year and I wanted to show a sign of support for my local team.

The rest of the world isn't quite up to speed with Japanese fashion...

  • oh noes its that fashion police

    i think he's incredibly adorable

  • Now available again haha, ya it was one weird ass commercial.

  • well theyre gonna to a commercial sitcom, not just one.

  • Good comments, and you presented it well. But please, go easy on the expletives. Still, I gave you 4 for rest of it.

  • It would, because their are still more PC gamers than console users.

  • P.S: This is funny, the Mac ones are Mac being a Dick

  • Mac's suck, because all of you n00bs who say 'Aw, I can do so much stuff!' Will eventualy realize the down fall of Mac's simplicity- After a while, only Microsoft products can do the more advanced work in movies.

And what about Games For Windows? Yea, have fun with pong bitches, cause' thats the only game you'll be able to play in a 5 years!

  • People don't need Windows for gaming, thats why we have the PS3, Xbox, Wii, PSP, DS etc.

If someone buys a Mac it would be pretty unlikely they were a PC gamer, so it lack of games for Mac doesn't matter at all.

  • The Microsoft ad was horrible. Yours was much funnier. You'd think that $10 million would buy something better than that lame example, I'm disappointed in Seinfeld, what a sellout.

WE're off to brew some Raspberry Restart tea.

  • Go study then moron...

  • That Microsoft ad was funny, much better then the shitty mac ads. In no way did that ad try to emulate the mac ads.

PS. nice winter hat fag, sure must be cold inside.

  • You're a fag

  • judging from the "i heart applemilk1988", i'd suspect not!

  • it's a good thing you're cute...

  • What the heck is that supposed to mean?

I didn't waste 10 hours, it was more like 6...

  • haha and you wasted 10 hours to show you are one weird ass kid.

  • this guys a dick head he's the nerd lol

  • And my wonderous brother, who can't fix his own computer makes a comment.

The ad isn't genius, it's shit. The reason it's getting attention, is because it's shit. As I said, it would have had the same effect without Seinfeld.

People gathering to watch a car accident don't make the accident genious, its tragic.

The Mac ads are clever, the Microsoft ad wasn't,,,

  • And that's why it's genius. In the world of advertising, all that matters is getting your product out there and sales. If an ad generates controversy, more people hear about the product. The fact that they paid Jerry $10 million adds to the controversy and is making people talk about it. Comparing advertisements to car accidents doesn't make sense.

Personally, I thought this ad was much funnier than the Mac ones. The Mac ones are pretentious. This one was funny in a stupid way.

  • Mate i agree with you the $10m was a waste of money.

I can only said the Mac Ads are more AGGRESSIVE! I can't comment whether is better.

But have you seen the 3rd ad, i think its much better with a little bit more meaning. But i am still not convince to buy VISTA or MS windows 7 or whatever hell they call it!!!

    No i don't use a MAC!

  • The ad is genius because it's generated such controversy. It's one of the most successful ads in recent history. $10 million is chump change to Microsoft.

  • The Microsoft ad was way better than the Mac ads.

  • You are a retard.
