@Loco175 the whole game is a trick.. she is in fact evil and the bad ending is actually misinterpreted as bad rather than good. the Old One is not evil, he is the creator and has been weakened to the point of not being able to defend humanity from the demons who brought forth the thick fog. the maiden in black is merely trying to finish him off so she can become empowered to devour humanity with the Old One's power.. she tricks you and exploits you through the whole game, others trick u as wel

@D1Champ08 sooo the old one calls you a demon and asks you to bring souls? and then the thick fog encovers the world? i beleive the bad ending, is the bad ending, and the only trick there is, is for the religius people in the nexus, who are actually worshiping the old one without knowing it.. who you can in a way call, THE DEVIL where is your god now?

@Midniki after you kill the maiden in black and enter the old one the game is finished BUT it will save and you will have new game+

in NG+ you start at the nexus again but you have all your skills and armorand stuff from the game you finished it with.the maiden returns after you've beaten the phalanx boss in 1-1 and you can finish the game over and over again. be warned though NG+ the difficulity is raised by about 40% if i recall right (maybe higher) it becomes harder the more you beat it.

I wish the story was a little clearer. The story definitely had potential but it was never realized in this game. Many people like to say that Demon's Souls isn't a game that should have a heavy storyline, but I still think they could've went more in detail without spoiling the game's atmosphere.

Let's hope that a sequel comes and flushes out the story and ties loose ends.

They were showing the "hero" characters of the story. Astraea is considered a demon, and thus is seen with the others if you get the good ending credits.

I agree incredibly, from the moment of seeing this game and hearing many magical words that made me need this game, I went to the extent of purchasing a PS3 & Importing the game from another country, I actually had the game before I had a PS3. well look i have a melee defensive soldier with brushwood armor (heaviest and best armor of the game i think) and shield, there are some enemies that could make my hp go down to 10% or kill me with one direct hit (not blocked with shield). its not that big of a problem but if i am not careful it is a sure one shot death.

I'm around level 80, and have completed the game, and now it's put me in a 'Nightmare Mode' [Diablo reference] Basically a harder difficulty, and the first stage is actually quite painful, the mobs that I could take 50 blows from before, can now take a big chunk off. I dread to think what the later levels will be like, the ones I actually struggled on before it was on hard mode. So yes, replayability factor = hard mode = new game entirely.

You can't compare this to fallout 3.

Fallout 3 is more of a shooter and this is an epic rpg.

If you love difficult games, then this is perfect, if not you're better off getting other games.

Okay. For the good part, you get a soul absorption spell which doubles the amount of souls you get if you don't kill the Maiden in Black.

Now for the bad part, if you kill the Maiden,you don't get the soul absorption spell but instead you get the Maiden's Soul instead.
