I saw them at the Keystone on Halloween '76. I know they played for hours and Robert Hunter opened ( who i'd never heard of at the time) .What i remember most is being amazed at Jerry's guitar playing. Exceptional picker,i miss that cat.
Download this show and other Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia, Legion Of Mary, Garcia & Saunders, Garcia/Kahn, Robert Hunter shows from the link in the video info above.
I was at this show - I saw all of Jerry's Keystone shows, since I lived 2 blocks away. It was always hotter than hell, and louder than that. What a treat to have such a pristine recording.
And, since Jerry didn't move around much, it's a pretty much realistic action video. Just imagine a big-ass McIntosh amp powering a box of 3 JBLs, and you're there!
@sharegrace The Twin was used as a pre-amp, if I recall the interview I heard correctly. He had a second Twin as a spare, also on-stage and warmed up. I don't believe he used the Mutron toys in '76; they came after Terrapin Station in '77.
This was at the Keystone in Berkeley, now long gone-so much for Berkeley's 'great and long standing tradition of saving historical buildings of interest. Those were the days $3 got ya in to hear the man himself jaam for hours on end. Fun for all...miss him miss him

It's as if God draws me inexplicably to every man who resembles Jerry Garcia. One of my many complaints against the Creator.
