  • Anyone else hear someone playing billiards in the background?

  • Oh how I wish for just one more album to be released- me from 2006 haha

  • @CampfireHedphaz Lovin' the username! :D

  • @Riotmaker888 Thanks, huge BoC fan.

  • @CampfireHedphaz Same.

I only know about them because of my dad.

BoC is probably the greatest band I've ever discovered.

    Thanks, dad!

  • OH YEAH!!! I've loved this song for a few years, ever since I got it from my friend. However, it was called "track13", so I had no idea what to look for.Today, I remember that I heard Boards of Canada somewhere recently, so I looked it up on youtube, clicked the first song, and my jaw dropped.

  • Assistam o Amanda Bellino, "Sonho de Verão"! É Show!!!

  • monkey dust!

  • death note OST

  • BoC has no equal--there's no denying.

Boards of Canada, all the way...

  • What's "Esee," and why does it say that's the artist's name??

  • Come on men, let fuck off away theses ads. What do you need ? 1 cent per view? Who care. Let' this music free

  • @marcopkiller Get firefox as your browser then get the 'ad block plus' add-on, it leaves a blank space where adverts are and you dont get the video ad at the start of youtube vids

  • The music I will die to, some day.

  • Why does it say the song's written by Esse under the video on the right ._.

  • This is the info for the first pressing !!. Straight iLL Beat !

    - back sleeve has a clear sticker affixed (under "skam") with BOARDS OF CANADA on it in braille.

    - entre labels: written + produced by mike + marcus

    - centre labels: made in england.

    - centre labels: no "recorded at hexagon sun 1996" printed.

    - insert: A4 on blue (cyan) paper with black printing, showing photographs where faces are in black and the background in blue

  • Does anyone else think that this has a sort of trip hop influence?

  • Comment removed

  • @Riotmaker888

Do you even know what Trip Hop music is? Bands like Portishead and DJ Shadow are examples.

  • @IrishEyedBlue Heh...heh...nope. I just assumed the worst, because it has the word 'trip' in it, and because so many people keep comparing BoC's masterpieces to tripping or whatever--drives me insane. I'm gonna go hide in my little troll corner now, ashamedly. Cheers!

  • did someone say spiderman thread?

  • let me tell you how much I enjoy doing homework late at night while listening to this while drinking a hot tea...

  • @stephie3r maths homework I presume?

  • My Friend says BoC have scary tracks

    i think?

its one of the most relaxing music ever made...

  • @xPshahaf All their stuff is sort of scary in an enigmatic, nostalgic,GORGEOUS kind of way.

  • @einhorn303 bronies don't have real opinions.

  • @einhorn303

That's your opinion. I personally love Boards of Canada and most stuff on Warp Records.

  • call it a conspiracy or whatever, but i´m sure the dope itself produced all this music alone! ;o)

  • This song always makes me feel really happy but at the exact same time slightly sad, which in a strange way is very comforting.

I love the way this song makes me feel.

  • @offthahook8

agreed, it's nostalgia; longing for the past yet happy for all those times

  • @offthahook8 i find myself trying to comment on most Boards of Canada songs, then realize there's always someone who beats me to it. The fact that there are people out there like you make me feel at peace. This is the past and the future of music.

  • why oh why did i stop listning to BoC. im back baby

  • Curious fact: 4:17 says "¿Qué está bebiendo?" (What are you drinking?)

  • So, Taikutsu from DeathNote?

  • @MarekStanczakJr I was thinking the exact same thing when I heard that part. Coincidence?

  • 7.

  • i wish this song never ended

  • anyone know other tracks like this one?

  • This track is beyond godlike...

  • sounds a lot like taikutsu from DeathNote ..

  • @Yellow24y and death note ran from 2006-2007, before this video. look up taikutsu, people

  • @thebatmen99 Album came out in '98.

  • @V0M93 1996.

  • @bubmaterial Boc Maxima came out in 1996, Music Has the Right to Children came out in 1998.

  • @V0M93 o i thought it was only on that hi score ep. never mind.

  • @thebatmen99

Erm... are you honestly saying that songs were made on the date a video was put up? :s

  • if your bored with nothing to do... get a pack of sharpies and some copy paper. then draw a very random squiggly line in a certain color, and make that squiggly line into a creature of some sort. ive been doing this while listening to BoC and its so fucking awsome what im creating right now. i just wish everyone could see it. just keep in mind if you do this that the creature has to be as random as possible... its pretty crazy.

  • I just noticed that many boc songs contain the letter "q" like sequoia, turquoise hexagon and aquarius

  • my ears were prepared for "kaini industries"...time to check the related videos

  • @666gravity yep

  • "no description available" How true.

  • this song has just inspired me to explore this genre. its incredible.

  • @Jellomykim5139 it inspires me to explore everything

  • voices that fade, its a bit like falling asleep when you've just has food with the family and you're absolutely happy

  • Slow river run deep.

  • reflecting on my masturbation scars.. and all the hours

  • @joshorsonhatesyou scars..

  • lain, anyone ?

  • @lezvarthok

    what about lain ?

  • @lezvarthok serial experiments?

  • @nathanel1313 exactly what I thought of, yes.

  • Sounds JUST like Taikutsu from the Death Note OST. What a pretty song.

  • @anime4ever0miku I'm pretty sure Taikutsu sounds just like this

  • @echobears I'm pretty sure you got the point either way

  • BOC gives me the such eccentric dreams at night.

  • @FunkyVerb : Well, I don't exactly find mood-neutral, pretty much the opposite.

I find it depressing, joyful, arousing, claustrophobic, space-y, all at the same time.

  • @Chocolatmenthe take all the shades, sum it up, and what will you get ?

    skin cancer.

  • this track can talk about any kind of feeling ...

  • Listening to this and reading my ex-love notes is such a trip.

  • melt

  • lol this song makes me think of portishead

  • @1000031989 portishead is just as great as boc!

  • Boards of Canada is Perfect !!

  • Humans who don't like BOC are, very sad to say, braindead and/or cultural slaves.

  • @texasB666 But it's okay if some of us robots like it right?

  • Summer BBQ with Neighbours.

  • Just wow... a year ago I would never have concieved electronic music could have such a warm, human feel to it. I love this album so much.

  • BOC has the ability to peel away my skin and leave me feeling naked and exposed- like a hand making its way through my chest and making a fist around my heart. @___@

  • @Mewne0 So many people think electronic music is cold and rigid when they couldn't be further from the fact it can bring you to tears and move you in ways all organised noise can

  • Monkey Dust.

  • they are able to perceive my moods.. thanks for existing

  • listening to BoC on my MP3 totally alters the day

  • haunting

  • Hypnotizing.

  • @KiranaForever

The intro kinda reminds me of 'Roads' by portishead.

  • Sounds like Taikutsu off the Death Note OST

  • Is it just me or in some parts of the song don't you hear a woman moaning softly, as if she's taking it hard?

  • i mean, could someone imagine a world without words? just you and your free, un linked thoughts? wouldn't it be a world with far less problems?

  • its not from a porn film you moron, its form the national boards of canada first of all.

second of all you can hear pool balls breaking in the background.

    get a brain.

  • this sounds alot like taikutsu from death note

  • @AnimeCraze22 If anything, this song inspired the opening to that song. Seeing how this came out back in 1998.

  • @NotoriousFetus ah didnt know that good to know though

  • this makes me want to eat my own face.

  • another blinder of a tune!!

  • MF DOOM would so rip this track. sounds like something off of Vaudeville Villain

  • does anyone know what equipment they use?

  • I think the eq'ing is much better on the version that appears on the Hi Scores ep

  • If you like Boards of Canada, Eluvium, Helios, Goldmund, Hammock, Rachel's, The Album Leaf, and other similar artists, you may like my stuff. I'd love some support! :)

  • hey guys i've got one question. i just found out about boards of canada and im looking for one song in particular. i heard a tune that sounds like an enhanced version of angel by massive attack and i was told it might've been recorded by BoC. if you know what im talking about please hit me up on pm or here in comments.

    thanks

  • one fine track

  • The voices, plus the sound that honestly sounds like a cue ball breaking a grouping of balls in pool, makes me think of being with friends and family in lounges in the early 90's. Just about everything BoC composes evokes similar reflection, for me.

  • @kazen2

It's obviously a spank. The murmurs are from a porn film

  • @kazen2 I always thought it sounded like a ping pong ball hitting a table.

  • Fucking awesome.

  • 1:24 and 2:46 It sounds like a japanese woman.

    4:34 John Bardeen

  • is it strange how my favorite songs are the ones that are:

    not in my mother tongue

    do not have lyrics?

    It's always that way...and I don't really care.

  • the most bleak, depressing song ever

  • @talkinghead22 Thats what I love about this album. You hear the most depressing song ever, and I hear a song that makes me want to fuck like a wild beast. Almost to the point of physical arousal, this song is exactly what I would want to play tonight if someone were in my bed. Isn't that fascinating?

  • @dannythedrone No, not really.

  • @talkinghead22 wow, Its really exciting to me that we can both have such different reaction to it. Thats what I love about music!

  • look boc have some fantastic tunes, but this is coffin music.

  • @Hashpotato this is not coffin music it's happy music lol

  • I guess I have the right to children too ;)

    (pedophile joke)

  • lol @ everyone replying to intelectual95

  • immense song

  • @Intelectual95 You're a bender. Go away with your snobbery.

  • @Intelectual95 Go listen Coldplay

  • @Intelectual95 avenged sevenfold have no skill, especially compared to this masterpiece

  • @Intelectual95 YOU BEST BE TROLLIN SON

  • @Intelectual95 "people who show off about their IQ's are losers" - Stephen Hawkin

  • @Intelectual95

As much as I like avenged sevenfold (I was at the rev's last gig in '09) They are virtualy talentless in comparison with boards of canada. The machine isn't doing it for them, they write the music themselves.

And your IQ has nothing to do with music taste. Please pull your head out of your asshole.

  • @Intelectual95

    l

Where now priory of sion ?

Reply as the usual channel by scent pheronome stench ping pong pnong pehn

  • "music has the right to children?" huh? so music can take children and do with them as it may? that is as good as syfy's slogan "imagine greater" meaningless.

  • @brockXroberts

Ignore the words, the titles, everything. It's all about that nostalgic little noise.

  • @brockXroberts I think what it means is that music has the right to deviate into other versions of itself. It deserves to evolve. As Boards of Canada attempts to do with their own work, by creating such different musical experiences.

  • I love that smack sound in the beat. I believe it is a stick hitting a pool ball. Perfectly placed.

  • I love the effect of the voices. It's like being a kid and hearing adults talk, and you can't understand it. Just meaningless noises.

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe what a fascinating thing to say

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe

    Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

You're such an asshole for that so on the mark description.

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe now thats a comment worth reading.

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe Thats how I feel most of the time when I'm around people. Just meaningless noise that confuses me.

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe this is one of the deepest comments iv'e ever read. congrats!

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe omg thats exactly what it is... i miss when i didnt understand any of it

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe we were all there

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe Great comment

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe At one of my moms parties, trying to find her, lost and people are talking. They seem large, i find her crying. Fuck thats a perfect coment of yours

  • The voices in the backround make it even more awesome

  • Am I high? No I am not. Then I suppose this music must be good.

  • this good very is

  • not even a boc song is immune to trolls on youtube.. all hope is lost....

  • Words cannot express... :(

  • Boards of Canada, YOU are my Nirvana, My Harmony, My Zen, My tranquility, My state of liberation from unhappiness, and departure of all earthly or secular things. You allure me, and through your music, I come closer to discovering my Spiritual Healing;

I light candles in my room, turn all the lights off Listen to BOC, & Sigur Ros, and zone out.

  • @VoteMau5 At least he has one... unlike SOME people I see here... ;)

  • possibly my favorite boc track. just heavenly

  • the keyboard melody thing reminds me of the melody in strotha tynhe by aphex twin i wonder if it was just an accident because theyre both so simple, or maybe aphex twin was making a reference to one of the greatest songs in existence?

  • dude, best subliminal sex sounds ever

  • @commandercortez

oh my god i just heard them now since i read your comment and i've listened to this thing hella!

  • This + my head + weed = heaven on earth

  • @Apathesis0 i love how simplicity is turned into magicistic dreams thats just pure genius, who needs marketing when your emanating dreams through music. i have every single album of Boards of Canada.

PS. please Tour in Sydney Australia.

  • Listening to this song is like being enveloped in an auditory vagina that's cumming the fluids of eternal bliss all over you.

  • What an interesting metaphor.

  • just melted

  • I am 53 and this is my favorite band of all time. Period.

Everything they do is sheer genius.

  • I'm gonna go crazy without hearing that tick noise. Anyone got a specific time where it is in the vid?

  • @JohnnyBoy232 0:26, 0:31, 0:36, 0:41, etc. like two pool balls being tapped together

  • @boardsofautechre ah, now i hear it. thanks!

  • Perfect music to trip to.

    Lovely.

  • This a really calming song. I could see it being in a lot of movies.

  • Wonderful album...
