yo u guys i have bb bold 9000 myself i relli do wanna change the ball but i will never do it......the reason is when tht guy had annotations saying if u break one of the slide thing your phone will have issues so why wreck a sick phone just for a flippin colour change i would change the colour by an expert guy not amatuer

I Love this! It totally worked on my Blackberry Curve 8330. No problems at all.

What I did through was I painted the sticky side of the tape with pink nail polish, and then put another side of tape over it, sticky side down, making a "sandwich". It works marvelous too and the color wont wear off in a few months like it will with the marker.

Yah I don't have any seller names of by heart. But I have purchased a few now for different phones and I've found that they're all the same quality. And if you look hard enough you can find a coloured trackball with the matching beauty ring for like a couple of bucks, shipped to your door.

Hi Awesome vid but looks risky. I am thinking of getting the tour and it has a black trackball....you think I can STILL change the color of the LED so it illuminates the solid black ball? Because I didn't notice the silver ring around the trackball. THANKS!

its prob because you asked to change the keyboard color, which I assume you mean the light behind it, which you would really do the same way. However, it is a PITA to try to do, so just leave it how it is.

no, but sharpie stays the best. watercolor would come right off, and pen wouldn't write on tape. but really any permanent marker will work, it doesn't have to be the Sharpie brand. I just like sharpies because they are reliable and the colors are very true.

on a difficulty level from 1 to 10 where 1 is the easiest, and 10 is the most difficult, I would rate removing the tape at a 2. It is easiest to use tweezers to remove it. It's only scotch tape after all.

Great videos. I saw this one and gave it a try. It worked amazingly well. But i ended up using painter's tape because i couldnt find any scotch tape :P but it worked just fine.

you can also use fabric dye

on that note you could also use crushed berries or blood. similarly you can melt colored plastic with a blowtorch or break an inkpen all over a piece of tape. Or you could even get a colored piece of paper wet and let the ink drip onto a piece of scotch tape.

However, it would probably be easiest to just use the sharpie like I suggested.

DO NOT USE Tweezers knifes what so ever for this trust me you will end up scratching your escape button or the blackberry logo button ...try to use your nails if possible and also, if u dont want to perminately sharpie on your LED i suggest coloring a piece of clear tape first and cutting it into a small square and use a tweezer to carefully stick the small piece of take on to your LED..this will give u the freedom of changing color of the trackball if u get tired of it later =] GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for giving the tip! On retrothought, it is a better idea to use your fingernails if you have them, or a flathead from a glasses kit. Later on I replaced the center piece because it did indeed chip the outside of the silver piece.

FYI If you watched the whole video you'd see that I use a piece of tape - I did NOT color the LED!
