"Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down)" is the second single by singer-actress Cher from her second studio album The Sonny Side of Chér. The song was written by Sonny Bono and released in 1966. The song reached number three in the UK Singles Chart and number two on the Billboard Hot 100. The same year, the song was covered by Nancy Sinatra.
@doorsfan58 The Bang Bang song it's Cher's song of course the original, Nancy covered it from Cher's version at 1966, If you want to learn the true and for more information about this song, Search on the site Web (Bang Bang original version) And read Wikipedia
@karashi52 THis is not the orignal mix. The vocals are reversed, and I can tell you, they are not out of phase. Either this was a touch up job, or a bootleg source. The Liberty records and EMI cd I have do not have Cher underwater
@stereofreakdude Thanks for your suggestion. Ever Clean Records was error in writing. This source from Toshiba Records Japan under licence from Libety Records. Toshiba is not little company. So not a bootleg.
If It's touch up job, I don't know why. Of course I know CD was not Cher in underwater. I talk about before CDs.
@karashi52 Copy and paste this to the youtube search window This is the original stereo mix, that at this time Time/Life Music pressed on cd, the same mix used by Liberty American ? Europe in the 60's : CHER sings "BANG BANG" from "The Cher Story"
FINALLY! I hate the newer version, and although I like Nancy's version, this is still my favorite version and it took me forever to find, but good god the quality SUCKS.
@SnowWhiteQueen29 - That's what my friends said in '66: sound sucks. This was exciting 4me at the time. Remember these were experimental days and Sonny was scrambling to make the transition because the "Sonny and Cher" days were numbered. L0L Sonny Pulled it off Big Time 4sure.

Very Cool! All this time I thought Nancy originally recorded "Bang Bang". Had no idea Sonny wrote it either. Live and learn.

Why are the vocals out of phase? She sounds like she's in a submarine

@stereofreakdude
may be, in middle of '60, minor record company had 2 heads recording machine only,
and undeveloped mixing techniques. aiso sony and cher were not well enough.
but, cheap sounds felt the good old days. I love its.

Hearing it again, I like it better this way, anyways.
