Still have the 45...having grown up in foster care, children's homes and so forth, moving city to city, changing schools one after another, losing friends, gaining new ones, always moving while wanting stillness...this song helped me reflect on things that were happening at that moment... the lyrics gave me hope, brought me tears of sadness and joy. At 50 they still do. There is nothing more complete than crying tears of joy and sorrow at the same time. WOW!

live in the studio, yeah baby! but was the orchestra live in the room or, more likely, on tape? at the time i thought this was a pretty good pop song, not great but somewhat compelling slightly Bee Gees influenced but not like a group I would rush out to get the album and so on. NOW out sounds like pop genius of high order. the standards were so high we took it for granted. great video post!

I saw them live in Glasgow when they were called Dean Ford And The Gaylords. They were really good. Dean Ford is a really good live singer and Junior Campbell went on to write some good songs.
