I actually find myself agreeing with you whole heartedly...and I'm a Christian who takes her faith seriously. You're right, God is forgiving, and I highly doubt that the loving and forgiving God I believe in would cause an earthquake to hurt the people He created. I just really hate it when people corrupt things and take things WAY out of context, and use it as an excuse to be cruel to people they disagree with. To me, what this woman said is a complete distortion of who God truly is.

The bible is created by MAN, not GOD. its the stories of Mathew, Luke, John and co. that tell these tales, there is not one passage from Jesus or God, but a bunch of people who allegedly hung out with the man. So, that's the reason i cannot take any piece of the bible seriously, because, supposing Jesus walked the earth, these are second hand stories made by men who, just like us, have faults and subjectivity. Hence, i believe in my own god, not theirs
