@max432156 When you develop a reputation for diving, people tend to look for the dive more than the penalty. Look at Vancouver in the finals this year. Excessive diving led to a lack of penalties called against them because the refs started to think it might be happening all the time. The same goes for Crosby.

Lidström, Sedins, Lehtonen, Rinne, Thomas, Datsuyk, Malkin, Stamkos, Kane... The list goes on.
A great hockey player is not only skilled but durable as well. Criesby, like Forsberg and Lindros, isn't.

But he's pretty much the only one; all the rest of the truly great ones were talented AND durable. I'd say 18 out of the 20 greatest players.

@max432156 When you develop a reputation for diving, people tend to look for the dive more than the penalty. Look at Vancouver in the finals this year. Excessive diving led to a lack of penalties called against them because the refs started to think it might be happening all the time. The same goes for Crosby.

@Sinco1967 Considering how Criesby finished 30th in scoring last year and how he doesn't really excell in the defense end either I'd say there are quite a few people better than him in the league, of course depending slightly on how you define 'better'. Lidström, Sedins, Lehtonen, Rinne, Thomas, Datsuyk, Malkin, Stamkos, Kane... The list goes on.
A great hockey player is not only skilled but durable as well. Criesby, like Forsberg and Lindros, isn't.

Your beloved Sedin. played 82 games. 104 points. +30, and 13 hits. As far as durable. Any player in the league would have succumbed to the hit he took. And interesting you put Lindros in the "not durable" category. Did you ever watch him play. It took a Scott Stevens to put him out, with a typical Stevens hit, and he would kill a Sedin with his hits.

@quedorf The greatest players of all time are Howe and Gretzky. Both played a lot of games, and won a lot of awards. And changed how the game was played. Orr also won a lot of trophies and revolutionized the game, and because of that, I'd also consider him great, despite only playing some-600 games or so. But he's pretty much the only one; all the rest of the truly great ones were talented AND durable. I'd say 18 out of the 20 greatest players.

It cracks me up when Forsberg accused others of diving. He accused Mikael Samuelsson of diving after Forsberg had knocked out a few of Samuelsson's teeth with a high stick. I hate Crosby and he does dive, but Forsberg was one of the worst offenders in the league when it came to diving. Forsberg was one of the most powerful skaters in the league yet if his team needed a powerplay he couldn't flop to the ice fast enough.
