How are they going to split Mockingjay (assuming they split the last book)? (SPOILERS) I guess they could keep one movie in just the District thirteen and the second on the journey to the Capitol? Idk

While I am not a huge fan of this idea, I know that a lot of people think that the third book feels a little rushed. So perhaps Suzanne Collins will work with Lionsgate to help extend Mockingjay into something the fans will feel to be a bit more satisfying. Hopefully it will be a win for everybody :)

If they really keep to the spacing between the films, the initial fan base will have died out by 2018. I'm by no means saying we won't love the books any less! But waiting 6 YEARS in between a trilogy?? That's a little too steep.

NO. Do not split up any of these book in half! The way the book was written, is the way the movie should be made! It was written a trilogy so it should STAY a trilogy.

Im working on catching fire (only on part 2) but it has a lot in it that seems pretty easy to split into to (or at least easier than hunger games) and I saw a lot of people say that they should split it in half. I totally expect them to make Mockingjay in two parts because it goes by very slowly and it needs all the little details. Catching fire goes by VERY quickly and is short read so I expect that to be only one movie, same as the Hunger Games.

they're probably going to split it in mockinjay, since it's the last book. *spoiler* in mockingjay when peeta is saved and katniss goes to see him for the first time, he tries to kill her. they could possibly split it there. there's no point in splitting up catching fire. they'll probably do the last book like harry potter and twilight was split in the last book of the series.
Also Collins (The Author of the Hunger Games) is the one who is writing the scripts, she wanted to make sure no one hacked her novels. So we can rely on her to make the movies just as good,
As for the third book. they could split it when Peeta gets back and When Katniss goes to see him he strangles her. Thats the only part I can think of. :/ lol

It would probably bring in more money in the long run as far as this particular series goes, but then everyone would remember Lionsgate as 'The ones who F-ed up the Hunger Games", because there's no point that I can think of in the 3rd book that would be a good splitting point, and there's no spot in the 2nd book that would be a good splitting point, either.

Well actually, Susanne Collins may be writing a fourth book that I suggested to her. It is about a final hunger game where people from the Capitol are put into the arena and the main characters mentor is katniss. So maybe that could become the fourth film?

@HalfTimesTwo For me, Mockingjay kind of just ended. There weren't many final details about the characters and their lives after everything calmed down. It was a disappointing ending for such a great trilogy. So I hope they do something different with the for the movie, just to see what they can come up with.

I love Harry Potter And Hunnger games.. It would make sence to split the last because there is a lot of action throught the book, people will need time when they see district 13 to sink in . Harry Potter split into 2 movies because it was to long to fit in one movie everything was too important. Twilight is copying Harry Potter because its only like 400 pages and all that happens is Bella gets pregnant ,she and Edward get married and Jacob falls in love with their daughter. The Hunger Games also has too many important parts to leave out of Mockingjay so it would be understandable to split into 2 movies.

I think is allright for it to be 4 movies! It didn't hurt HP or Twilight, now did it? I don't think so. And I think we get more of the story when they do this! I don't know when they're gonna split the books, but I'll let them decide. They're the professionals.

Im working on catching fire (only on part 2) but it has a lot in it that seems pretty easy to split into to (or at least easier than hunger games) and I saw a lot of people say that they should split it in half. Way to make it seem like a hp twilight wannabe (not saying anything against loinsgate, the films wil be awesome)

Ew. The 3rd book isn't even that interesting. If they split it into two parts, then the second part will strictly just be conclusions, so the movie will just start with everything concluding which is the stupidest idea ever. They should just make it 3 movies.

LISTEN ALL HUNGER GAMES FANS. I have some ideas about the game they might make based on the movie. there should be multiplayer with modes like playing by yourself and com players in the games a mode where you are in the games. in the games with online people. a campaign. and a special mode like a quarter quell. oh and in the multiplayer you should be able to create allies to help you then kill them later on PASS THIS AROUND SO MOVIE LICENSED GAMES WONT SUCK ANYMORE!!

I think breaking it into 2 parts is a little much I mean not many big things that can properly end a movie even happen in the last book and it would be a pain to wait that long!! Just make it 3 hour movie!

no i really hope that they dont make the last book in 2 parts that will ruin it the last book isnt really my favorite i really didnt expect the triology to end this way but i really hope they make2 parts on the second book that was the BEST they should really get all the details or on the first one i really do want peeta and all the cast to play their parts very well because there are tons of great scenes they MUST show cause usually in the best movies they leave out the best parts♥Peeta_Josh

I totally expect them to make Mockingjay in two parts because it goes by very slowly and it needs all the little details. Catching fire goes by VERY quickly and is short read so I expect that to be only one movie, same as the Hunger Games.

they're probably going to split it in mockinjay, since it's the last book. *spoiler* in mockingjay when peeta is saved and katniss goes to see him for the first time, he tries to kill her. they could possibly split it there. there's no point in splitting up catching fire. they'll probably do the last book like harry potter and twilight was split in the last book of the series.

Also Collins (The Author of the Hunger Games) is the one who is writing the scripts, she wanted to make sure no one hacked her novels. So we can rely on her to make the movies just as good,

I don't think they should split it... It would probably bring in more money in the long run as far as this particular series goes, but then everyone would remember Lionsgate as 'The ones who F-ed up the Hunger Games", because there's no point that I can think of in the 3rd book that would be a good splitting point, and there's no spot in the 2nd book that would be a good splitting point, either.

*SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT* They might split it at the part in Catching Fire where they find out they have to go back into the arena for the Quarter Quell, but that would make the second film the most boring thing ever.. But I agree with the people who are saying that it would be almost impossible to split the third book as it doesn't really have a cliffhanger point that would still leave enough of the story to create another movie.

People need to stop drawing things out like this. I'm a big Hunger Games fan, so yes, I'll be seeing all 4 movies, but still... Trilogies are popular for a reason. Splitting the books up just kills the zen , you know? They'll have to change the whole structure of the books!

Well actually, Susanne Collins may be writing a fourth book that I suggested to her. It is about a final hunger game where people from the Capitol are put into the arena and the main characters mentor is katniss. So maybe that could become the fourth film?

@veronicar097 I hope not. If she hadn't added the epilogue, then maybe she could have but no one really wants to see Katniss and Peeta and others as adults. It's kind of like Harry Potter - people are saying to write the books about their kids, but to be honest, no one really cares about them.

@HalfTimesTwo For me, Mockingjay kind of just ended. There weren't many final details about the characters and their lives after everything calmed down. It was a disappointing ending for such a great trilogy. So I hope they do something different with the for the movie, just to see what they can come up with.

I love Harry Potter And Hunnger games.. It would make sence to split the last because there is a lot of action throught the book, people will need time when they see district 13 to sink in . Haveing gale as the leading man for one movie would help you see things in his eyes better. I Also hate Twilight. Get team gale and Peeta out of your heads.They should not ever be compared. All the books are about a love triangle while HP and HG have acations seens fighing for a good reasion.

Harry Potter split into 2 movies because it was to long to fit in one movie everything was too important. Twilight is copying Harry Potter because its only like 400 pages and all that happens is Bella gets pregnant ,she and Edward get married and Jacob falls in love with their daughter. The Hunger Games also has too many important parts to leave out of Mockingjay so it would be understandable to split into 2 movies.
