well... you have lead it with the side of your thumb that is holding the lady's back. You have to gently lead her chest to go up, and then slowly go down... i hope this makes sense :)

Its so much more fun to play the guy's role in any of the dances and lead, as then you're in control. Being a woman, it can get pretty frustrating if the guy either doesn't lead right, or if he just sticks to basics throughout (absolutely no offense meant to the guys who love the basics...lol)
