  • the transmission on the 2005-2011 Honda Civic

    Transmission

    5-speed automatic

    5-speed manual

    6-speed manual

    CVT

  • Didn't know that the dash (speedo) is changed as well as the exterior. Don't like the dash at all. IMO before the facelift it (speedo) looks a lot better.

  • They have this in Australia as well, in Australia we have the civic vti (1.8), civic vti-l (1.8) and the civic sport with a 2 litre engine, the Civic Sport is shown in this video. We also have the Civic Si but that's a completely different design, the Civic Si is the one with the red-illuminated display and everything.

  • well this is not fake, this is the JDM model which does include a fairly "normal" (non-sporty) 2.0 i-VTEC engine at 155 hp.

  • come to canada for the 155hp model

  • thats a 1.8l R18 with an auto, the 2.0 only comes in manual and the tac goes to 9k and is red

  • @ViperVenom It's a 2.0 K20 engine with a 5-speed auto. It's not the SI model as I explained many times already. Ever thought that maybe other places apart from the US may have other engines and transmissions?

  • Fake and gay!

  • @jarus187 How is it fake if I filmed the video myself? =)

  • @alexlovesmac thou have been trolled :(

  • Btw, my 2.0l k20 is rated at 197 hp in a civic si for north america.

  • Odd, the only 2.0L used is the k20 and with a redline under 7k I am sure this is not a k20. If this was the 2.0 the tach would show redline at 8k.

  • @gtpkent ou are right, i have this car it is the 1.8 sohc R18 motor, the 2.0L si has the k20 and the 9k redline (or maybe 8k i don't know) The si also has a red display instead of blue

  • nice r18

  • All the 8th gen civics have ivtec == even the hybrids . but only the si has ivtec dohc

  • @c2Lyfe isn't the 1.8 also dohc?

  • nice 1.8

  • that is not a vtec. not a ivtec!

  • the r18's have vtec, its just for fuel economy though, not power so you wont really hear it

  • not an SI, blue colo speedometer, and if u look at 0:02 its automatic :P

  • that isn't a 2009 Honda Civic 2.0i-VTEC

  • nice :D

  • i think that the speedometer should not display single changing mph digits so large and alone on the panel. That is because it causes people to continue looking at how fast they are traveling every one mile per hour. Honda makes one of the most reliable cars in the world.

  • GAY! SHOULDA GOT AN SI

  • Si cluster is red this one is blue conclusion, this is not a Si

  • @dregsta You my good sir are dumb

  • @Sleyer07 ya i own a 2010 si so im in the right you broke ass bitch

  • @dregsta this Civic is probably from Malaysia or China or somewhere around there because they get a variety of engines. This engine is a 2.0 but not the free reving engine the Si has. I have an 09 Si so I know where I'm coming from. This 2.0 puts around I believe 160hp.

  • @desimunda116 yes! Finally someone who understands. Haha. This is a Malaysian Civic model. It puts about 155bhp.

  • @alexlovesmac yeah when I found out I was getting an Si, I started watching a lot of videos of it and I came across a Malaysian auto show video and a commercial for this 2.0 model. Honestly, I think we should get the 155bhp in the States. Our 1.8 isn't even vtec which is stupid because a Honda without vtec is useless.

  • @desimunda116 I see. We do have the 1.8 also. It has the R18A1 engine, I'd always thought the American 1.8 and the rest of the world's 1.8 Civic would have the same engine? According to Wikipedia, the R18A1 has i-VTEC.

  • @alexlovesmac i was talking to a honda mechanic and he said they didn't

  • @desimunda116 Hmm...that's interesting.

  • is that an si engine swap?

  • wow they really screwed that civic up, the wheel is on the wrong side

  • @LamboK28992 What wheel? It's on the correct side to me.

  • @alexlovesmac I know...I was being sarchastic...in the US the wheel is on the left side.

  • @LamboK28992 Also in Canada. lol

  • @LamboK28992 Lol. Haha. I know that. =)

  • @LamboK28992 sarcastic. If ur gonna be sarcastic at least spell it right! Idiot...

  • @LamboK28992 nah they got wheel on both sides

  • @LamboK28992 It's because in some countries they put it on another side.

  • @iBillyboblXl I was kidding.

  • @LamboK28992 you're retarded

  • @LamboK28992 it's for the asia version

  • @JJ388JAr u must be a real ass, i know what vtec is, i just spelled it wrong, big fuckin deal!

  • us in th u.s we get the watered down si lol

  • thats a 1.8 not 2.0, only the civic si has the 2.0 i-vtech,and the guages would be red and the tachometer would have an 8000rpm redline

  • Like I explained earlier on, we have 2 engines, a 1.8 and a 2.0. We have an equivalent to the USDM Civic Si in the form of the Civic Type-R, but our Civic Type-R has slightly more power coming from the 2.0 engine (197bhp in the Civic Si vs. 222bhp in the Civic Type-R).

  • The Si's in the states have been known to put down around 190whp completely stock, so i think the 197bhp is underrated. A 222bhp engine tied to a front wheel drive tranny will put down around 190 at the wheels.

  • Mmm...I see.

  • @ckyguy68 lol more like 172ish at the wheels. So its reasonably rated.

  • @ckyguy68 actually, on a dynojet, they usually see about 180whp. sometimes 177whp.

besides, his isnt an Si. the Si has red guages, and its a manual. not auto like in this video. this car is just a 1.8 singlecam.

  • @joescivic This car has a 2.0 DOHC engine! It's not Si, just a standard K20Z2 engine. In the US, only the 1.8 engine is available, but other markets around the world, they have 1.6, 2.0 and 2.2 diesel engines available. =)

  • 155? our R18s in the states have something like 140... I was hoping it was the k20 tied to an automatic. The 6 speeds are so shitty i would actually like to see how that would work performance wise

  • 155bhp yes, in the 2.0i-VTEC model, it's actually the K20Z2 engine if I'm not wrong. We also have the 1.8 R18A engine, which does put out 140bhp.

  • 1. this is automatic

    2. lights are blue

    3. no way its 2.0 liters

    4. its not an si.

  • Yes. This is an automatic, the lights are blue, it's not and Si, but it's 2.0 litres. Cause where I'm from (Malaysia), there are 4 Civic models;

    1.8i-VTEC

    2.0i-VTEC

    Civic Hybrid

    Civic Type-R.

Our Civic Type R is actually the one with the red lights and everything else sporty. Our 2.0 is considered just a normal model, not a sports model like the Si. The Si and our Type-R shares the same 2.0litre, 197bhp engine. Our 2.0i-VTEC only has 155bhp.
