your playing really make me feel quite sound. i would love to hear some vocals on this. if you need a vocalist, I would not mind collaborating with you.
@guerri89 The frets are located using the same math as on a guitar, banjo or mandolin, but on a dulcimer not all the frets are placed, so the long gaps are where a fret is skipped. Traditionally, his gave a diatonic scale, rather than chromatic like the other instruments. This meant the dulcimer only played in the key it was tuned to play in. Other keys required a change in tuning. A lot of modern dulcimers have some,of the missing frets added, and some actually are chromatic.

Dulcibard. Your instrument is as lovely as the tune you're playing. Who made your dulcimer? I particularly like the leaf shaped sound holes. They're unusual and beautiful. Thanks for your wonderful music. David Pugh
I've just listened to several of your pieces--beautiful work. This one is particularly lovely. How does one go about getting on your list for tab? Ellen
@ellenjhahn Hi Ellen! Thank you so much, that's very kind of you. Send me a message on my youtube account. As soon as my scanner gets fixed I'll send tab to everyone who is waiting!
Hi FlintHillVideo! I just use a Shure SM-58 and put it through a Mackie DFX12 mixing board... I record right off my built -in camera from my lap top and add a little reverb in Garage Band.. nothing too complicated...
Thank you so much for watching, and for your nice comments.

is the fretting set on a kinda logaritmic scheme or is it just me?
guerri89 8 months ago
@guerri89 I'm not a luthier, so I don't know the formula for placing the frets. I just play it.

Guy, I more or less duplicated your sound setup and it works really well. Thanks again for the information.
BTW, I also thought your piano and vocal treatment was excellent (both musically and sociologically.)

Guy...This is just as beautiful on dulcimer as your vocal version on piano. Please put me on your dulcimer tab delivery list.
Thanks

This is sublime, Guy.
If you have a minute, how do you mic your recordings? Your sound is consistently excellent, no matter which instrument you're playing.
