Paul Washer is the only pastor I know who rebukes the charismatic church I actually respect. Although his sermons aren't entertaining, it has power, because it's truth.
it is an ugly truth for those who deny this message... for pastors, for priest, and church leaders who doesnt walk the talk and for sunday Christians... it is a rebuke for all christians and church leaders...
Think he's making references to gross sins of the flesh and clearly does not believe in sinless perfection. That's black and white in scripture and don't see how anyone can disagree with this. If you are a fornicator then get married (1 Cor 7:2). Don't see there is any excuse for a true Christian to STAY in gross types of flesh sins that bring reproach to our faith.
Better to find out the truth on this side of the fence then to be deceived and have a rude or horrific awakening on the other side since you can only effect your eternal fate in this life. People such as Paul Washer help people make this type of reflection. There are plenty of testimonies of people who visited hell where they can attest Christians who thought they were saved are burning in torment. Remember, we are alive and therefore can repent.

He preaches that God decides who goes to Heaven, which is not only a lie but as subtle and poisonous a lie as ever has been told. He even said that if you were to open Hell and offer those in it the chance to become saved, they'd all refuse it. Not only is Washer wrong, he's very self-contradictory. We DO have free will, and we DO decide our path.

if y'all look at the Scriptures and the context behind them, what Washer is saying actually makes sense. The 16 dislikes probably are the people who refuse to take the scriptural truths as they are (like Washer does) in this age of how-to's and i-want-a-beemer's. If you look at the disciples and other men and women, they're all imperfect and quite different, but one thing they have in common is their passion for Christ, and Christ alone.

I think Paul Washer and I would have to part company on the matter of repentance. When I closely examined the scriptures on the matter of repentance I discovered that repentance is nothing more than just changing your clothes before getting baptized. That's surprising to many people to learn that but it's true, check it out.

In Lukes version of the Great Commission Jesus told his disciples to teach repentance and the forgiveness of sin. How can you go on consciously living in the same thing Jesus Christ had to suffer and die for. Jesus told many people he healed not to continue in sin. Sin is at the very heart of Christianity.

Acts 2:38 helps prove my point. Repentance was something done fairly quickly and on the spot, right before people got baptized. It's not some long drawn-out process of groveling and guilt-trips over several days. Other verses confirm it was a change of clothing. But don't worry, most people aren't going to change their clothes to be baptized unless they've changed their hearts and minds too...sorry if you felt I was dismissing that part of it.

Taking is not the same as recieving. One takes, one does not receive. Receiving is the result of giving. You receive a parcel, because someone gave it to you. You did not take it, it was given. The church teaches to take, not receive. As for the bible, it was not a command, because a command is against goes against the ability to have freewill. Abraham was justified by FAITH in what God said, not by the work that he did. Abraham offered Issac to God because it is what God said to do. Because he ALREADY had faith in God.
Since when could an unbeliever have faith in God? If we have faith in the atonement of the Cross and the Grace he FREELY gives out, then by our lives we will live for Jesus.
Paul Washer walks a fine line between that and saying that we must be PERFECT. When being perfect is really impossible without theCross
TO make one feel that he can't make mistakes (which Paul Washer does) puts impossible standards on people, which is in reality WHY Jesus came to earth. Because it is IMPOSSIBLE for us to live by God's standards.
We cannot repent fully of Sin WITHOUT the Sanctifying Spirit of God. Praise him for being so Graceous and Powerful to accept me just as I am, and for changing me everyday to be his servant.

The new birth changes you, so you cannot stay that way. A life of repentance from sin means a constant turning away from our own sinfulness, toward God's holiness.

There's no excuse for sin in the Word of God and NOWHERE does it say to not live up to the standards because it is impossible to do so and we can't do it. Paul doesn't say you'll go to hell for being imperfect. He preaches to serve God with your all. He says you will have moments of sin, but unless you have a repentant heart you have to question your salvation which is in line with scripture.

Think he's making references to gross sins of the flesh and clearly does not believe in sinless perfection. That's black and white in scripture and don't see how anyone can disagree with this. If you are a fornicator then get married (1 Cor 7:2). Don't see there is any excuse for a true Christian to STAY in gross types of flesh sins that bring reproach to our faith.

Better to find out the truth on this side of the fence then to be deceived and have a rude or horrific awakening on the other side since you can only effect your eternal fate in this life. People such as Paul Washer help people make this type of reflection. There are plenty of testimonies of people who visited hell where they can attest Christians who thought they were saved are burning in torment. Remember, we are alive and therefore can repent.

if y'all look at the Scriptures and the context behind them, what Washer is saying actually makes sense. The 16 dislikes probably are the people who refuse to take the scriptural truths as they are (like Washer does) in this age of how-to's and i-want-a-beemer's. If you look at the disciples and other men and women, they're all imperfect and quite different, but one thing they have in common is their passion for Christ, and Christ alone.

I think Paul Washer and I would have to part company on the matter of repentance. When I closely examined the scriptures on the matter of repentance I discovered that repentance is nothing more than just changing your clothes before getting baptized. That's surprising to many people to learn that but it's true, check it out.

@MrRoycelong repentance simply means a change of mind according to the dictionary. But the Greek word that we translated into repentance actually means a change of heart and actions. In Lukes version of the Great Commission Jesus told his disciples to teach repentance and the forgiveness of sin. How can you go on consciously living in the same thing Jesus Christ had to suffer and die for. Jesus told many people he healed not to continue in sin. Sin is at the very heart of Christianity.

Acts 2:38 helps prove my point. Repentance was something done fairly quickly and on the spot, right before people got baptized. It's not some long drawn-out process of groveling and guilt-trips over several days. Other verses confirm it was a change of clothing. But don't worry, most people aren't going to change their clothes to be baptized unless they've changed their hearts and minds too...sorry if you felt I was dismissing that part of it.

Taking is not the same as recieving. One takes, one does not receive. Receiving is the result of giving. You receive a parcel, because someone gave it to you. You did not take it, it was given. The church teaches to take, not receive. As for the bible, it was not a command, because a command is against goes against the ability to have freewill. God gave freewill, and you can not give with one hand and take with the other.

i was reading the new dietrich boenhoeffer biography by eric metaxas and it shocked me to see how when he came to america he basically complained about the same thing Paul Washer is preaching about! the church back then (1930's) was preaching humanism and hardly preaching the word at all..just like now!! the only true preaching he found was in black churches at the timei thought this was happening recently but ...apparently its been a long time coming...

Paul Washer's Perverted Gospel
Paul washer teaches a false Gospel which requires a person to continue on God's path of righteousness in order to be saved. This is works salvation. Being born-again isn't a process! Like other false prophets, Mr. Washer deceitfully claims to believe in salvation by faith alone; while simultaneously telling young people that they must have a hatred for sin in order to be saved. This eliminates growth in grace.

Show me in the Bible where it says Christians are the true church of God? You can't find it. It's not there. You people make claims that the Bible doesn't even back up. The Christian church is full of SO MUCH hypocrisy that it makes MILLIONS of people go atheist, or to another religion. So that is why we have taken on that name by the public, So if u are confused on the idea of "christians" being the church, then think of it this way instead- The *disciples of christ* are the church of Christ. Christians means 'Followers of Christ' and the church is the body of christ made up of saints of christ (true believers, born again). The label Christians was first of all a word used in scorn agains the people of God. But prior to that the message of Christ Christ was called The Way.

Only Jesus' Words and belief in His promises bring salvation. Believing He is God, became a sacrifice for us/ and was resurrected...(All to pay for our sins...old laws were no longer focused on).

@FreethruJesus No, you missed what Paul Washer is saying! Not that you cant make a mistake. Rather, if you are truly born again, you will not comfortably continue in that sin. The new birth changes you, so you cannot stay that way. A life of repentance from sin means a constant turning away from our own sinfulness, toward God's holiness.

@FreethruJesus Then why did Jesus say, "Be ye perfect even as your Father in Heaven is perfect"? There's no excuse for sin in the Word of God and NOWHERE does it say to not live up to the standards because it is impossible to do so and we can't do it. Paul doesn't say you'll go to hell for being imperfect. He preaches to serve God with your all. He says you will have moments of sin, but unless you have a repentant heart you have to question your salvation which is in line with scripture.
