  • This makes me wish I played the trombone!

    Oh wait.. I do

  • Nice!!

    Hi I am a young Bahamian composer...This is just a link to a jazz chart i wrote...it features solo trombone...written solo.....youtube.com/watch?v=xxr7L1CHoz8

  • ive played trombone for 5 years but stopped my sophmore year, and watchin this makes me wanna play againxD

  • o,0

    *left in amazement*

  • looking at all the different slides in different positions and moving gives me motion sickness

  • cooooooolllllll!!!!

  • How many types of trombones are there?

  • @KR4syth

Contrabass, Bass, Tenor, Alto, and Soprano (slide trumpet).

They also make Valve trombones for trumpeters who need to play a 'bone.

  • preaty DAM good you guys

  • The tromebone is the Greatest. Its fun to play although i always went to 8th position trying to get to 6th or 7th. lol. Good times

  • Ugh.. This wants me to play this on my bass trombone even more!

  • still not as cool as a tenor sax...

  • @xdarkxbarbiex thats what i chose and staying on

  • fart panther then slowly transforming into a pussy panther

  • I am a Bass Trombone player myself and BASS TROMBONES ROCK !!!!!

  • must get a trombone.....

  • veryy good..! a good! exelent work.! ♥

  • beat that saxaphones!!!!! t-bones rock, i play trombone

  • i lovies this vid!!

  • This is really cool! I love trombones.

  • cool

  • sweet

  • I love the t-bone and i really love playing it.

  • wonderful

  • Can a contrbass trombone go lower than a tuba?

  • No. The range is identical.

  • there is actually no big difference between a trombone and a bass trombone concerning the pitch range. only the sound is varying. a usual trombone can go almost that low.

  • @contrabasstrombone

You mean identical to a B flat contrabass tuba? I have read once both go to a very low A flat.

And what about a B flat contrabass trombone? I have seen one on the thein brass website and one on youtube, but do not know the range nor could find it.

  • @contrabasstrombone

Depends on the tuba of course.... ;-)

  • @Sucramfree13 i have no clue, it does sound like it though huh?

  • @Sucramfree13 only if it's a subcontrabass trombone which is rediculous. it's pitched teh same as a subcontrabass tuba though.

  • i dont think i have ever seen an all trombone band at least with this many trombone players. this is cool

  • what is the difference between a double trigger bass trombone and a contrabass trombone ??

  • The contrabass trombone is usually pitched in F (a fourth below the bass trombone) and is equipped with two valve attachments actuating D and B flat. It has a larger bell flare and longer expansion. It is played with a larger mouthpiece and speaks with greater authority in the low register, largely avoiding the need for pedal notes. It possesses a much darker and heavier timbre than the bass trombone. In professional ensembles, it is never replaced by a bass trombone but used in its own right.

  • Shit, u really know your stuff! I play trombone, and I barely knew half of that!

  • yeah me too!

  • thanks for the info. i played tenor trombone, second chair, during h.s. and college, then community band in lake charles, la. i used to hang around the band room at mcneese st. u. in lake charles, la. and i have never seen a contrabass t-bone. it must be an awesome instrument to reach new heights - or lows in this manner - in the trombone as an instrument. contrabass instruments can hit petals naturally while tenor or bass t-bones have to radically change their embresure to hit petals. wow.

  • @contrabasstrombone perfect fourth*

  • bla bla bla

  • I am thinking it is a bass. I play a single valve, and have hit most of the notes that I could easily pick out. It could be a contra, just to give more of an easy hit for it and a boost in volume, but any bass bone player should be able to do most of that, if not all.

  • That's me playing a contrabass trombone.

  • That solves it, and way to go! That was great!

  • hmm. i've been playing bass trombone, and oddly enough, i actually started off on bass trombone.

i'm interested in playing contrabass; when do you think would be a good time for me to make the switch?

    --i'm barely in 9th grade.

  • Not until you're at postgrad level.

  • ok. thank you.

  • I'm currently at a band camp, at UTSA, and we're going to do a masterclass performance, and since i'm the only bass trombonist, i'm playing all of the lowest parts.

If you have the time, when i upload the videos, may you comment on my playing, and perhaps give some tips? (I know its a bit hard without actually being able to see me, but anything would help)

  • Sure. Happy to help.

  • Thank you. We're playing on friday, so i'll upload whenever i have the time.

  • coool!!!

  • everything sounds awsome when a trombone (or a group of trombones) play it :)

  • cooooooooooooooooooolllllllllll

  • bass trombone

  • This is so awesome.

  • why the hell not?

  • que bueno

  • Such good intonation!

  • This sounds very cool. A bunch of tbones it just doesn't get much better then that!

  • What's that extremely deep brass called?? Is that a trombonanza??

  • BASS TROMBONE. They play like a tuba basically.

  • Or as I've heard it "BIG ASS TROMBONE"

  • Might be a Contrabass. I'm leaning towards it being contrabass. Too low for bass.

  • kick ass!

  • great!!!!

  • shut up, spread your dog's legs and have a nice day!

  • SO AWESOME!!!

  • So cool!

  • This video is kick-ass. Trombone is the best instrument, you should really play it. I really don't get why there are so many trumpets trombones are more vauable. They can do so much more, I played trumpet for two years and switched to trombone and i am so much more happier.

  • Pshh.. Tubas - Much more fun.

  • I play trumpet AND trombone. I'm trying to get my director to let me switch back to trumpet next year.

  • abd the moral of this story is ?

  • My director is forcing me to stay on TBone?

  • What a terrible thing to "have" to stay on tbone UltramaXAtXX he could be making you play the piccolo!

  • why wouldnt u want to stay on it, tbone fucking rock

  • yes but next year im playing tenor sax

  • Why in Gods name would you want to do a thing like that ?

  • those basses are kicking ass...

  • bottom line trombone is best instrument anyone could ever play... i play it. truly a gift from the gods. lol. but really a cool instrument. i recomend it to everyone.

  • Wow thats really nice tone, must take a lot of skill to be able to cresendo with such big gaps without going out of tune and some of it sounds like saxaphones which truly impresses me.... Go trombones :)

  • You're sooooo right about them sounding like sax's at points of the song

  • i love playing bass

  • wow.... an all trombone band...cool.... i play too and it sounds really good

  • yay the sight of so many skilled trombone players in one spot excites me! A teacher of mine was an amazing bass trombonist and used to always play this when I was just learning the trombone! I love it.

  • TROMBONES FTW!!!!!

  • I have just gotten myself into beginning band and I am going to be learning the trombone! :]

  • Don't listen to the guy below.... you'll be proud of choosing the trombone.

  • @sZer0 hopefully by now you can play a high Bb

  • Absolutely awesome! Love the rumbles comng from those bass bones! You guys rock!

  • This makes me wanna learn the Trombone!

  • I started playing trombone coz of a song recorded by a small small amateur band, which I don't like at all, but the sound of trombone! It made me love it! Two years ago started playing it and I just can't stop...

  • @Morpheus396 trombones are amazing and i love playing them!
