virtual races against real planes will each race cost hundreds of dollars (rocket fuel), and if you crash it do you need to pay for, or if you crash it on the audience will you get the electric chair?.plus there is clearly an advantage for those with a console, they don't need to worry about g-forces affecting their body or reading the instrument panel . LOL on't get me started on rage quit and flamers, regardless i think all of this is pretty doable would be cool (without the consoles)
@Arvak777 It most likely wouldn't be by console. It would far more likely be via PC (joysticks for PC are more realistic than console joysticks) and you'd probably get redouts and blackouts on your display (as seen in many flight simulators) from G-LOC. The actual pilots wouldn't know if there were 2 people or 20,000 people flying against them over the computer. Besides, it goes without saying that simulated flying will never be as exciting as the real thing. These pilots are well aware of that.
After seeing the EZ-Rocket fly in Las Cruces in 2006 - trust me this baby will FLY! Skip the TV/Web, BE THERE! And, be in the vortex of the 21st Century.
I'm thinking there's just a wee bit of a carbon footprint as well...probably a whole lot less than NASCAR though. Still, looks like a great "made-for TV/Web" event.
*SIgh*, if only they really could just take a turn into space... XD .

@ JephN - Um, yea, I was sort of kidding. But thanks.

I don't know if anyone notice this but did you see that they took clips from "Tomorrow Never Dies"?

mislav111 3 years ago
You're an idiot if you really believe that. those wings aren't even close to being designed for transonic speeds.
JephN 3 years ago 5
@JephN that's why they don't do even close to transonic speeds

I remain highly skeptical that this will work, but the trailer does makes it seem way cool and possibly even do-able.
