When I am in an F-35 it is nearly inpossible to outmaneuver a SU-35. The hovering is not worth the lost maneuvarability. I usually slow down for a sharp turn to get an angle on an enemy jet, but I can not do this with the F-35. I hope the US gets a better jet in the next map pack.

actually I'd say the ECM jammer is better than extinguishers since ECM jammers can remove laser designations and javelin missiles are one hit kills so the extinguishers don't help there.

I think you should add in the annotations some info about the other Jets (A-10 Warthog & Su-25TM Frogfoot, which are the available jets in Rush, and the F-35B). For example, the F-35B's HUD works in free-look (Helmet-mounted targeting system, which is why the HUD is larger), so that you can target jets with ATAs while in free-look. Also, the cannon on the A-10 and Su-25 do far more damage than their Conquest counterparts, enough to disable a tank with one burst and destroy it in two.

While turning to shake your tail, I've found it useful to turn down abit decreasing your turn radius giving you a slight second or two to get out of sight of your persuader, enough to confuse 'em :D

It is important to mention that Extinguisher is worthless in hardcore, since you won't be able to regenerate the remaining health you lost. I still use flares in hardcore. Air Radar is king of Slot 1, and rocket pods/guided missiles are really more of a situational/personal preference choice.

There is actually a very cool manoeuvre that allows you to dodge heatseekers/stingers/anti-air missiles EVERY single time. I'm still on the verge of completely understanding how to do it, but as far as I can see, flares aren't needed much. The only use I found for flares was when I killed a noob pilot and got caught in the skybox, only to be heatseekered then machine gunned by the other jet, instantly getting destroyed.

as a noob pilot (but great engineer) I can say this to help jet pilots with "secondary" targets

1: choppers are easy prey and attack from the front (the pilot will turn away so hit the bigger side of the chopper)

2: watch out for machine gun fire but don't worry about SAMS there rarely used

3: pack rockets to destroy infantry and light transports

4: use missiles to destroy APCs and tanks

5: attack squads with mini gun fire to disperse them and shoot snipers with a guided missile

The only thing i would critisize is that you shouldn't boost when trying to out-turn the enemy. It only increases your angle and makes it take even longer to actually start hugging the turn. Other than that you're very good at aiming and i would love to have a dogfight with you sometime.

Great video, quite helpful. But you did forget one of the most important things while flying - spotting. You can spot enemies even if you can't see them and spotting an enemy vehicle your team will be able to help you and be aware of enemies around the map. @ShishirG96 I prefer the air radar, IR Flares and the rocket pods. Air radar, because it's very important to have a good overview. IR flares are better then the extinguisher, i guess. If someone shoots two heatseekers on you, the extinguisher will not help, because you're dead then.

And the rocket pods, because you can shoot every jet and chopper very fast with the maingun, if you just practice this enough. And the rocket pods are very good against ground targets and choppers.

Basicly it makes the jet go as fast as possible and gains speed the longer its on. Think of it like fire comming out of engines. But the jets engines dont burn after. Its moving way to fast for that since the wind is hitting the fire nothing gets on fire.

For turning you failed to mention the "speed reading" in the jets HUD. Slowing down between 280 and 320 gets you the very best turning radius. I hardly EVER lose dog fights because not many people know this. Great video though, i usually use the rocket pods, maybe I will try the guided missiles for a change.

The FA18 and the Flanker are NOT identical!

The Flanker has a bigger turning circle, equlals he cant fly curves as little as the FA18 which is in a dogfight very important. Belive me, i have over 2'000 jet kills and know how each jet is like.

Dont avoid missiles like he does. Missiles are faster than your plane so they will catch up, but your plane can out maneuver missiles by doing tight turns

@thetute59 I prefer extinguishers to flares because flares have just one use, and that is to counteract oncoming AA-missiles, so really it's effective only against 1 type of weapon. Whereas extinguishers function against everything (except laser guided weapons). Uh, not sure how I got it, certain elements of it disappear with height/distance so that might be it. And 3rd, thanks for the feedback, helps me improve :)

@AnonymousAutumn I know what you're talking about, I had the same thinking about the choice "air-radar" / "Maintenance". Air-radar only got once use, but maintenance will heal you faster and quicker from any damage you take :-) But what do you do when you got two missiles coming at you? Flares can help you out then , extinguishers not (afaik).

I'm a well seasoned player in this game, so I suppose my disintrest was only because none of this was very new to me. I do like the subject of tricks and tips at time but mainly in more single player games like Dark Souls or Skyrim because the tips and tricks usually involve tangible results (items). It's still a well edited video though, and good clips, very informative for those new to BF3.
