  • He is wrong on the part of Asian countries are afraid of the rise of China. Asian neighbours are benefiting from its rise.

  • See how western politicians ramp up crap in other parts of the world to rape them? And no one in their countries do anything about it (Middle East/Africa especially, but no developing country is exempt from this). Well...the good news for us is that politicians everywhere are the same. When eastern states have double the GDP of the west, I wonder how they'll start playing with the mice. One thing's for sure though...we'll be using all the injustices you bastards are committing now

  • NONE of the Asian countries want the US to come into Asia. There were three polls in even Japan where they wanted the US out of Japan. The US comes in and offers aid to any country that will go against the big power next to it...fucking bastards. Anyway...you reap what you sow

  • What will happen is that what the west has been trying to do for the past two hundred years (as in re-write history and cause inter-nation tension in Asia) will be undone when Asian powers get together and realize who the real leech is. Until then...Weeeeeeee!

  • What happened in the 1800s was the colonization and de-industrialization of Asia by the west. Get the FUCK out of the Middle East

  • Nice to see the Rolex commercial after the presentation rather than before it.

  • china is whole new world watch out kung fu power :)

  • Great video!

  • looks like the university members are still alive

  • Despite a totalitarian government, popular sentiment in Europe is to support Asia politically because it is competing economically with the US.

American decision makers recognize Asia's power that's why it will not create a conflict in Asia. Even the remarkably incompetent Bush did not apply his aggressive tactics to China, he was very lenient on issues such as Taiwan.

The US will remain influential because its diversity, population size, and tremendous resources in information tech.

  • Joseph Nye was right when he mentioned about the recovery of Asia, previous of the westeners industrial revolution, Asia was already a power trader with their neighbours and beyond. I didn't hear from him to say that besides de industrial revolution the westeners country like The British, The Dutch, The Spaniards etc invaded countries all over the world and stole their resources and impoverished most of those nations they conquered through their imperialism.

  • great explanation

  • This is a shitty propaganda speaker. so naive.

  • finally a fair and even perspectives

  • What does he mean when he says "sticks"?

It's when he's talking about power, he says "you can do it with threats of coercion, sticks"

I'm not sure if "sticks" exactly is what he's saying, so I'm hoping someone can clarify.

Much appreciated, if you can, thank you.

  • @Issphitikozs

He is referring to basic psychology of motivation. Carrots and sticks. This is otherwise known as rewards and punishments as motivation.

  • @timcb001

Makes sense, but to me it could have been anything.

    Much appreciated for clarifying!

  • Respond to this video... When he says "sticks" He is referring to carrots and sticks. Otherwise known as rewards and punishments in psychology. Carrots are rewards and sticks are punishment.

  • oh lord these american control freaks!! never satisfied with just leaving the world alone!! why won't they just keep out of other countries/people's business?! always wanting to control and dominate!!

  • @PuffyClouds00 Youtube is an American invention and I'd say it's a great platform for information sharing. So much for control freaks

  • Oops. He said al-CIA-da was a non governmental actor. I don't know about that!

  • His body language bothers me. I don't know why.

  • mm why i would want a deep sea working rolex watch? mmm i just cat look at my iphone to look the time ... this is weird... watches are obsolete....

  • Fight the Banks: watch?v=k1wptCr4W70

  • Going to put it on my wish list. =P

  • Youtube needs a troll button right next to the spam button, with profiles getting troll points.

  • @thebytegrill that's an idea worth spreading

  • I like the way he speaks it's very calm.

  • sounds like foucault

  • @ToniSkit

I've just bought a book that among other things is about Foucault...

    Sounds interesting.

Do you happen to know any book, documentary or something else about his work?

  • @AirForceJuan3 well if your just starting to read foucault and have not read other philosophers etc i would recommend purchasing a book that is about foucault that summarizes or condenses is works...a good starting book would be Understanding Foucault....i dont recommend reading his texts inicially because they are dense and his way of composing is very tangled/intrinsic/complex etc.

  • @ToniSkit

Thank you very much, Toni. =D

  • Imagine 300 million Chinese students who know how to program in Java. Just imagine.

  • total junk

  • @cray32 I know right. Sad that Ted talks has resorted to giving audience to such tripe.

  • Patents do not reflect innovation. Which is besides the point. Its the rate at which things happen. The U.S. is going backwards; while everyone else is moving forward. Self praise will not solve anything. Cont...

  • @qigong1001

What you said here relates to the fear thing he talked about. The fear that the U.S is falling behind. N.Hill mentioned in his book that one of the fears people have is the fear of poverty.

From what I caught, he mentions that we should innovate using production since it ultimately ties up with everyone's interest. He actually was employing "soft power" in this speech which means he really backs up and believes what he says.

  • @VagabonNinja Well, all speech by nature is a form of soft power. I wouldn't say his form is very powerful as it goes. Mainly due to the limited time format of TED. Also, he misses the fundamental point. The point is...you cannot innovate(soft power) if you don't have the tools to innovate with. Lets start with a foundation before we build the house. I'm not questioning that "he believes what he says." I'm questioning the fundamentals of soft power... math; science; history; literacy.

  • @qigong1001

You don't need tools for soft power. Soft power just means that you talk with people and be convincing enough that they want what you want. These people can have the tools needed to produce the results or innovate something.

  • @VagabonNinja You don't think you need tools like literacy to "talk with people"??Do you think the speaker has no tools like his education? Sure he does. He is a PhD right? Not that you need a degree. He also uses history and economics to make his point. And soft power is more than talking to people...you think China is advancing because "they talked with people." ?Hard work is soft power. Intense study is soft power. Innovation is soft power.

  • @qigong1001

No, soft power is just talking to people in a way that would convince them.. Obviously if you wanted to convince them to a point of view that would require those skills to explain, you'd need to learn those. China uses military threat since they are communist. As an example, a prison is a type of communist system though different obviously by regulations. Everyone listens or get beaten and they get what the government gives them. If you can communicate, you can use soft power.

  • @VagabonNinja Go read his book and well talk then. Thanks.

  • @qigong1001

I'm not going to buy a book just to argue about it on youtube. I'm going by what he's talking about here and taking it into the same context. Let me ask you something, if you act like a douchebag but you know a lot about math, science and have good literacy skills, would you convince people to listen to you or will people disregard you out of their dislike for your treatment of them? That's soft power, in joseph's case, not only does he sound competent but he also sounds genuine.

  • @qigong1001

Also, if you think soft power means that you personally are so knowledgeable that you seem to have a lot of power over others; Then the question is, can you build a 10 story building by yourself? Can you improve a nation's GDP by yourself? The context isn't how power a nation is separately. It is the degree that a nation wants the same things that they work together to achieve those.

So soft power is being convincing and a productive member of society.

  • @VagabonNinja Listen kid...I'm not following your logic one bit. Your using non-sequitirs left and right. I can't help you with that. He has plenty of free articles on line so you know what he is talking about. We can't debate, if we are arguing separate things. I'll be glad to discuss his articles such as "How soft is smart" or "Of might and right". They are free, just look them up.

  • @qigong1001

Dude.... I think you just don't understand this. You are seeing it in a different way and perhaps you can't grasp what soft power is because you may or may not even try to use it.

Google soft power and read the wikipedia article. It say's specifically to get others to co-operate with power subject.

An example is person A's method got him lots of food while person B got him no food. People will be convinced to follow person A.

  • @VagabonNinja Why are u using wikipedia as your source. Hahahahhahahahhahhahhahhhahhahhahhahhaaa!

  • @freefreeist

Wikipedia posts their sources... You can check if you like. However, if you disagree with what wikipedia said about soft power then go ahead and post what you think about it.

  • @VagabonNinja So many stupid people on youtube. "Wikipedia posts their sources." Why don't you read the ORIGINAL articles; that way you won't look like such a douche. You don't even know who writes the wikipedia articles. All you know is that they have a "sources section." You can even read for yourself the articles, but you rely on Wikipedia? Hahahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahhahahhaha! God damn! You really are a moron. Back to school with you.

  • @freefreeist

Hey retard, instead of acting like a dip shit, you can say what you think of soft power so you aren't just being a douchebag that has no clue what they are talking about.

Ok, I'll tell you how moronic you are. I did read the source. And it basically said the same thing. Please stop an idiot and either stfu or provide a counter-argument.

  • @qigong1001

Anyway, I'm done arguing about his subject but this guy is def. talking about the soft power I'm talking about.

  • "maybe the catholic church" just take the "maybe" ^_^

  • This guy sure is smart

  • @charmander4533 No, I think he overlooked a very important point. The west rates quite low in terms of education. And by that I mean the ability to use math and science to innovate or create. Without that, we can't compete. We can only compete with mechanical repetitive service type tasks~which are typically replaced by technology (automation, etc). No, he is not smart.

  • @qigong1001 That wasn't the point of his talk. And are you seriously saying that the usa can compete with china in mass production? Really????

  • @charmander4533 At 16:25 he talks about "defining our national interests." That is his thesis. I say, whether you use hard, soft, or smart power , without education you have nothing; it is the foundation for all. We rank quite low in reading, math, and science for a supposed super power. I was clear in saying automation will/has replace mechanical repetitive services (what you call mass production). Competing with China for mass production is irrelevant. Without innovation, we lose.

  • Comment removed

  • @charmander4533 Did you accidently remove your response? Its gone.

  • @qigong1001 Yeah, but I reposted it, just in case though...... "Then how do you explain the fact that last year America filed over 50% of the patents in the world, and China a little less than 1%? Innovation isn't our problem, I agree that we aren't the "top" schooling system for math and science, but the most recent calculation of the Human Development Index puts us at 99% literacy rate. That leaves very little room for others to be even thought they technically are "Better" than us"

  • @charmander4533 As for the HDI (which averages in all sorts of data such as standard of living, life expectancy; etc) ; be very careful how you read it. 99% is assumed because they don't collect the data. For example, North Korea is also 99% U.S. ranking is "4" for HDi but literacy is around 21. Thats horrible; below N. Korea.

  • @charmander4533

What's the point of arguing literacy rates? The problem with these analysis is that, like this guy said about Sachman, they are linear. It doesn't offer data for many other factors that are important. The point is, will it eventually achieve goals that many people may have about their living standard?

  • Manpower still counts! With a large number of mathematically illiterate Americans in which 60% believe biology (fossils, molecular genetics, evolution) is a lie...then we have a deficit. We do not invest in business and technology and education, but we invest in wall street; which is nothing more than gambling. We have more catching up to do than this guy thinks.

  • Power to the PEOPLE!

  • This guy is an inspirationaly powerful mentor for con-artists around the globe.

  • The part about china catching up to us and the citizens, might be true to live to where we are, but we are slowly declining, as more countries come onto the world stage and the world gets flatter. So we might drop a lot and be closer to china sooner than he expects.

  • he must be a chinese spy!!!

  • obvious information presented in well organized way, almost like a text book, but nothing special. the talk showed clear bias to undermine developments of other countries. power among nations always shift, it's just a matter of time... i am not sure why he is throwing bunch of words to convince the audience that americas economic and political power.... I come for TED for inspiring and innovative talks.... but this is not the one, this talk is just word bubble...

  • @rollingstone99 - TRUE TRUE

  • which part of T - E - or - D does this fit in ?

  • i could have written this speech after my first yr macroeco module...too simplistic

  • This is a really interesting talk, but he sounds like a text book. Repetitive with subject headings, focus questions, and gradual introduction of topics. Also, a minorly irritating American bias.

  • I think anybody here trying to argue with the guy needs to first show a resume...

That isn't to say one can't be right.. But quite frankly 99% of you are speaking directly out of your ass

  • he's coming from quite a self-interested perspective

9.18 :don't worry, the chinese people wont have good living standards for ages!!

10.33: still talking in terms of power, when it seemed he was going to say the whole approach to the necessity of the old types of power are unnecessary - why is he still hankering after power in asia??

The west needs to start feeling happy with itself and what it has. Then it won't be looking at other nations so much and feeling vulnerable.

  • @MariluLane w . contest. i21st. cn/ teens10 /core. php ?op =show &vid= 37864

  • Oh yeah like Drug trade is not controlled by government, LOL.

  • i think this guy is thoroughly naive. anyone wanna argue?

  • @3108711289 Possibly, if you would first elaborate.

  • Woo! Rolex!

  • Climate change, drug trade, financial flows and pandemics are all outside of government control? If the conspiracy theorists can be believed, they're sure trying their best.

  • Oh, what a yummy word salad that was ...

  • what a load of rot

  • This guy is just trying to quell things. Ted talks is bullshit but I watch it anyway just to see what kind of propaganda is going around.

  • Basically this video is saying that china won't become a world power until 2050.. Well, their power grid is already equal and slightly larger.

  • @WyldOrbit not quite

  • @WyldOrbit I think what he was arguing was that the notion of a world power is much different in the information age than it was in the 20th century and that classically speaking China would become a world power by 2050, but that way of thinking is outdated. Clearly you are thinking in an outdated fashion. For one thing, China already has an enormous amount of American corporations working there, which is something unprecedented in world history.

  • @sparklymage Does that comfort you? lol

  • @WyldOrbit Actually it does, and it should comfort you too since it means that a World War or even a Cold War between the U.S. and China is much less likely due to the information age.

  • @sparklymage yeah, ok. Sure... Ok.

  • @sparklymage China has its own civil discontent to deal with. Starting a war would not be wise for them. But nothing will stop them from taking over as number 1 economically, and thats what america is afraid of.

  • @WyldOrbit Maybe, but that is a highly irrational fear. I myself do not much care if China overtakes the U.S. economically, as long as the U.S. keeps on making the money. So my reaction to that is w/e

  • @sparklymage Youre obviously just some stupid kid. Go get informed. Im not gonna waste my time talking to you..

  • @WyldOrbit Yes clearly I am a stupid kid. You know, the guy on the youtube comments that is making a rational argument is a stupid kid. While the guy that is saying "ted talks is bullshit" and "does that comfort you? lol" is the mature adult. Very nice. I am clapping for your intellectual prowess right now.

  • @sparklymage Boohoo, i have nothing to prove to some stupid kid. This is not a competition where i have to display my intellectual prowess. THis is reality, and im not gonna spoonfeed it to you. You wanna know the truth? Go find it yourself. There is nothing i can say to some stupid kid to change its mind. Or a stupid adult for that matter...

  • @WyldOrbit "Its mind"? Why are you here? Why do you come to these videos to spew your ignorant hateful garbage? "Sheep"? You sound like every other moron that thinks he knows better but is probably in it just like the rest of us. What truth anyway? I didn't know there was some conspiracy we were talking about. This was not exactly a controversial TED talk. What kind of enlightening did you do anyway, you haven't said anything? Man you are illogical.

  • @sparklymage "but is probably in it just like the rest of us." Ah, there you go. In it just like the rest of us... In what? Yeah, thats right. I worked security at the convention center, and one day i was guarding an exhibit that showed demographics of china's population growth, power grid etc, you name it... charts and graphs everywhere.. Its growing rapidly, america is scared and so are americans. This ted talks is just trying to soothe public worry. And it seems to be working on you.

  • @sparklymage And ted talks is bullshit. You little sheep.. Im done enlightening you idiots..

  • Beautiful. Win Win on a very skillful level. The Golden Rule may sound a little corny but all Holy texts prescribe it more or less. Generates peace, happiness., good Karma.

  • @justkarmatoo You don't earn good karma by doing business with slave masters.

  • @ORCA4312 I've always felt that treating others the way you want to be treated creates better cause and effect (good karma) than not. What is you prescription. The slave masters you refer to I assume is the Communist Chinese Gov. If so, I understand where you are coming from. Its all Karma (cause and effect). Everything effects everything else. That is simple physics. Its kind of like a domino effect. It never stops so it is hard to judge Karma. Karma is all there is was or ever will be.

  • HOLY MAN!

  • Pretty shallow, as tends to be the case with TED talks. (Short version = people will do stuff for you if they like you.) But there's an implication of depth and I'd like to hear more from him. I may have to pull up some of his other videos here.

  • @notme222 lol You sound like a selfimportant twat

Your "likes" are pretty naff, to be playing the clear, knowledgable one

    embarrassing

  • how about people power ? how about liberty , respect and prosperity ?

  • @romeoneverdies illusions.

  • YEEEAH ROLEX!!

  • Why isn't Noam Chomsky on ted?

  • @thebytegrill Because he can't make a point in under two hours. Wait, actually, he hasn't made a point since 1978.

  • He's talking like David Logan at the end there.

  • I think it's hilarious that the first suggested video is sailor moon.

    Soft power.

  • @tissuegrinder i can't begin to make you understand how funny i found your comment :P

  • Europe and America won't let China to become a new power. Mark my words!

  • @TheProdigySupreme Too late. Go to a department store and look at where most things were made.

Money trumps all, when everything can be bought.

  • @MrLukasart

    Let's!

  • @MrLukasart Totally wrong. Bismarck proved that soft power works in the 19th century. The fact that most people don't use soft power does not mean it does not work. All it means is that most people do not understand how to use soft power. Corporations use soft power all the time successfully. Google is a good example of using soft power successfully. Apple is another, although lately they have been getting a lot of backlash because they gave up their soft power tactics.

  • Wow. This guy filled the theater, huh?

  • Great talk. Quality TED!

  • This was amazing.

  • He said mexico is not hostile to America! OMG how can you even say that? the mexican invasion is the biggest threat to America after the federal reserve.

  • Well Britain deliberately dismantled and stagnated India's economy when it was under her rule, google [de-industrialisation of India] you'll find plenty of non-Indian research papers from British and American universities on the subject.

Prior to British rule, India was the world's largest economy.

  • @giansideros India held 24% of the worlds GDP under the Mughal Empire(India), then the empire disintegrated and the British took advantage and defeated the reveal empires fighting against each other in India. And create British Raj. British god filthy rich off of India, but India slipped into intense poverty.

  • Must watch! :)

  • The Rolex ad at the end is funny, because their depth claims are non relevant to a human diver. Are they marketing their watches for robots now or what ?

  • @epSosDE "are non relevant to a human diver" - They are. If a diver with heavy diving gear was to drown and fall to the bottom of the ocean. You can be sure that with a 6000 pound watch on that there is sufficient profit to be made in collecting your body. ;-)

  • @GrudgyDiablo canada gonna take over da world

  • he seems to have a really simple concept of power

  • @delatroy

In political science, there is a very defined definition of "power" and because he is a historian, it is reasonable to assume that he is referring to power (political science).

  • 'computing and communication costs have fallen 1000 fold between 1970 and the beginning of this century' - this must be wrong. I make it out in price / performance terms as 1,052,672 times as cheap

  • Joseph Nye the Power Guy

  • I think that this would be easier to understand if it used diagrams.

  • Very agreeable TED talk. People will always be innovative and resilient. And the power of greed through international investment will mean that investors will try to develop every area of greatest potetial worldwide, regardless of borders or ethnic origin. The low entry cost of communication means that the world will be much more socially connected and governments will weaken.

  • Smart power. Iran is loading its nuclear power plants today. Pakistan is receiving another billion dollars that will be channeled to the LeT, the Taliban and other Islamist organizations. Things are going just according to plan, it seems. Military domination and economic hegemony is what the world really understands. Get over it.

  • Nice zeitgeist conspiraty theory nonsense going down in these comments so far.

  • @MrCattlehunter I don't see any, can you point out what you refer to? Zeitgeist is not conspiracy theory anyway, I think you have misunderstood something. Unless you want to call it a conspiracy theory when I claim that my local supermarkets want me to pay as much as possible for them to benefit from me. And that the guy in the hardware store is not completely honest since he needs me to buy stuff from him and not over the internet where it is cheaper.

    youtube: "Jacque Fresco Penn state"

  • You need intelligence to practice soft power. Hence that's why we had to stick to hard power for the 2001-2009 time period.

  • Good talk.

  • This is such propaganda bull shit...

America and indeed the world is controlled by an international banking cabal...

Waiting to hear an ounce of reality.

  • 2-3 decades? no way man, I give the US 10 years tops.

  • Funny how the US become diplomatically inclined when they can perceive their own political decline...

And talking about China's carbon emissions... really?!

  • Reagan WAS the end of America. Collapse from within.

  • but china owns the us

  • The source of the "soft power" most often neglected is the nature of our currency, who controls it and subsequently molds our society, and thus the world. The U.S. has in fact been in decline since we abandoned the Gold Standard. We do have the potential to become the most prosperous, and influential once again, but only if we understand why and how our current monetary system is slowly destroying us. "We the People" need to reclaim the currency.

  • @InTheSticks1881 "how our current monetary system is slowly destroying us"

I couldn't agree more, but I might have used the term: "Enslaving us" as well.

  • @nightmathzombieethan That is what it is designed to do. The only way for there to be kings - is that there are also many more peasants. The peasants allow such systems, because they dream of being kings.

  • @InTheSticks1881 The answer is not a sound monetary system where people would have more equal opportunity of profiteering and competing. The real answer is sharing resources, working together towards technical solutions that is shared for everyone to benefit.

If you don't agree... what if you had to pay to utilize the light on the streets, the roads, the air you breath.. That my friend is capitalism. Competitive economics will destroy the basis of life on earth driven by our need for new stuff.

  • @hede88 Capitalism is not the problem. Sweden has freer capital markets. There is no minium wage in Sweden. Highly recommend the YouTube vid, The Secret of Oz, a history of the U.S. monetary system.

  • @InTheSticks1881 secret is oz. is nice :) great historian

  • @InTheSticks1881 The problem is concentration of power in the hands of the few, not capitalism.

But free market fanatics (not as Sweden,) have allowed and helped that concentration by the only rule of market. Goverment should interfere here, and redistribute power so it's a fear situation, and real freedom

  • @fitobcnfito

The concentration of power was created by the politicians that convinced people that state must be strong and that people can have their cake (free market) and eat it too (social assistance, "free education" etc). Once the politicians got enough power to screw things up, they did. The solution is for the state NOT to have the power to screw things up. You cannot think that the government is the solution to the problem of government, can you?

  • @logossfera No I don’t, I'm an anarchist, but in order to be fear and have real freedom and real free market, we need first to redistribute in equality the means.

Right now, situation is not fear or free, and we cannot live corporations do as they will, because what they want is to concentrate even more power, and they can in the actual status quo.

  • @fitobcnfito First of all, it is spelled fair, not fear, two different things. Second, you are NOT an anarchist; the idea of redistribution is everything but anarchistic.

  • @AtheistSweden disculpa por el inglés, gracias por la corrección.

Yes I am, but to have a free society, you have to start from freedom and equality, what is not FAIR, is to have all the power accumulated in few people, and now pretend that is a freedom what so ever.

You first have to take that power away from the greedy bankers and corporations, and give it away; distribution in equality is the fairest thing to do.

Later on: Anarchy and freedom to trade, or not.

  • @AtheistSweden Redistribution of wealth and fight against actual accumulation of power, is an Anarchist claim, normally, anarchist fight together with socialist. We both fight accumulation of power in banks and corporations, but difference is that socialist believe in government as manager of those goods/means, and we believe government is useless (as said, redistribute is what I aim for, not management by a central state). Look up the CNT-Barcelona union, and who we asociate with.

  • @fitobcnfito

"Redistribution of wealth and fight against actual accumulation of power, is an Anarchist claim"

Don't talk crap. It is merely a recognition that:

    a) wealth should not equal power

    b) most of us play a vital role in the maintenance of civilisation

    c) Most people who play the most fundamental and truly valuable roles in society are generally treated like crap by the establishment

The modern SOCIALIST view is that a) be made so, b) be recognisd and c) be remedied!

  • @fitobcnfito

The reality that free market capitalism is far closer to archism than redistribution of wealth. Why? because it allows nature to takes it's course, in which the ruthless will always accumulate power and crush those that make it possible for them. Socialism seeks to intervene and make the world safer, fairer and happier for all, hence the term 'social justice'.

  • @TheGodlessGuitarist Then you can be an anarcho-syndicalist, instead of individualist. Mine is a utopia, it's not to be 100% achieved, but any step towards it, is best than increasing tyranny of state/market/money. The accumulation of resources by the few, banns you to enter a fear competition, and that is what goes on today. Some have so much that you are always under their will. We have to take that back into society.

  • @fitobcnfito

Lastly I would like to point out that anarchism and libertarianism are much more closely allied than anarchism and socialism. Libertarianism is a view that tends to be adopted by convervatives, the right wing. It is an idiotic ideal that libertarians seem not realise is just anarchism and social darwinism under a new name.

I could never support such backward views, which are ultimately arrived at by ignorance and fear (generally ganered by right wing media and groups!).

  • @TheGodlessGuitarist I don’t care much about labels, I am what I am (I believe in no government, education, empathy, and human kind) never the less, Libertarian as you say, are close to my concept of no government, but as mentioned before, libertarians are not up to that redistribution of power as socialists are (that's why they are conservatives, because they want to perpetuate government by money vs state: not real freedom, and usually, they are all people with money/power)

  • @TheGodlessGuitarist If I redistribute wealth and have no government (that is anarchy and freedom, and you can have a real “free market”) Freedom for ALL.

Libertarians want to keep that power distribution, and false free market: they want foredoom just for themselves, not for all. Libertarians are Hypocrite freedom fighters, who should not use Liberty in their name (in Spain “Libertarios” are anarchists, not conservatives, they fighted together with the communists in the civil war)

"If I redistribute wealth and have no government (that is anarchy and freedom, and you can have a real “free market”) Freedom for ALL."

WTF? I think I'll save my converstation for someone who isn't full of shit and hasn't a clue what they are talking about

  • @TheGodlessGuitarist thank you for your kind words, do as you wish.

Still, I will believe we should redistribute all the means (since actual distribution enslaves people, and is not fair), and then let people do with no government, in anarchy.

You can belive as you wish, I'll do as I want.

    Adios simpático

  • @fitobcnfito you contradict yourself, anarchism is against central government and coercive methods of taxation, but you propose a system in which a centralized government (according to your taste only) with coercive means will distribute money according to it's own plan without democratic process, i know only one system that actually did that and that Communism and this is not Anarchism.

Please explain how Anarchism and Centralized Wealth distribution can coexist.

  • @logossfera If the government doesn't have the power, then corporations will - and they are far less answerable to the public.

Look up anti-trust to see what unrestrained capitalism develops into.
