I heard this on the radio in 1968 and loved it-but didn't have the 8/-6d (when England had proper money! ) to buy it at the time. I found a copy in the 70s second hand and still have it. I've got "Movin' in" as well.
I have 'Movin' In' and 'Harry Faversham' on 45s. If you would like them, email me at: bstobytwirl04@gmail.com. Any proceeds to Nicki Thorburn's hospital; charity. Cheers, Bryan S
Hi Rich, If you check the posts from Guillemot37 on here & on uploads for Toffee Apple Sunday / Romeo & Juliet,it says Dave has the Joiners Arms pub in Blyth. All my Vinyl stuff is in storage at present ( 30 years worth !! ) but I hope I'll be able to get to it soon & get Moving In and Harry Faversham uploaded on here. Nice to hear from you. They were good days. The NE region was good for the music scene. All the best. How about a RE-UNION CONCERT ?
Holly was a top vocalist and the harmonies were excellent. They did great BeachBoys & 4 Seasons stuff. After their brief flirtation with fame they came back to the area & a couple of years later one of the guys ( Stuart ?) was drowned in a sailing accident off Tynemouth. Very sad. I think Dave Holland has a pub in the Blyth area. Great memories of great times with a great bunch of lads. Happy Days.
IF you can't find Harry Faversham anywhere, e-mail me and I'll get a copy to you somehow
Hi, I was drummer with 'Shades of Blue' and then briefly with 'Toby Twirl' when we got the recording contract. John took my place. Any idea of whereabouts of the rest of the guys. I know Holly runs a pub in Blyth. Do you know the pub ? What happened to Barry & Nicky ?
Toby Twirl...previously known as " Shades of Blue" oneof the top N/ East groups in mid-60's. From Tyneside they often made the short journey south to Middlesbrough and often played the Excel Bowl They played at my 21st which was held at the Club back in 67. Great bunch of lads. I have all of the singles that they recorded with Decca...still in mint condition...and also some of the publicity material ( auographed ) from when they turned into a "pop psychadelic" group as Toby Twirl...
Hi, I was the drummer in Shades of Blue, and briefly with Toby Twirl. I have most of the memorabilia but I'm looking for a poster before the change to'Toby Twirl'. It was in black & white, had a photo of us all in silk shirts with the band name 'Shades of Blue' in swirly typical 60's style graphics Would be great if you could email it as attachement, if you have it. Thanks, Richie
Be sure to tell him that Toby Twirl are very popular among 60's pop music fiends and the fact that there were only a handful of singles is really too bad as there were some terrific cuts and a lot of promise/potential there. This track is my personal favorite.
