yes it is. because there's electric violin and then acoustic violin. then there's electric acoustic. thats where you have a regular violin except it has an amp plug in. usually electric violins can't play without the amp. electric acoustics are electrics that CAN play without the amp. idk sometimes people call it acoustic.
