  • I read somewhere that both the Prowler and the Intruder were very difficult to fly, especially in combat. Pilots of both planes required extensive training, more so than others. Am I wrong?

  • prowler!!! she did what her name said ..... she prowled around and struck out love her and her older sister the intruder awesome girls!!!!!

  • Queer

  • Do Prowlers have the capability of attacking targets?

  • @Spev142 only radars...

  • Hmm these planes are not built for air to air combat :( It would be damn scarry if they bump into enemy boggies on 1 of their missions and have no air support.

  • By the way - 0:32 is an A-6 Intruder (the Prowler's cousin :)). Great vid! Thanks for sharing!

  • Most of the shots were of Intruders but it was a good vid anyway. :)

  • Allah!! Look at me! I'm a sand monkey! Alalalalalala!!!!! Fuck you. Stinky ass diaper head. Thousand of people died on 9/11. They were innocent civilians. The military responded. don't act surprised bitch. We follow rules of engagement... Ok Ahmed? So we try to limit civilian casualties while the Taliban uses human shields. So fuck you you dirty camel fucking rag head.

  • @Elitewarrior1274

indeed you sound like you took care of a lot of civilians.

  • @bengubtan Fuck you, you muslim prick.

  • @bengubtan

You are from the United Kingdom, America's right hand... maybe you should focus some of that hate towards yourself.

  • What is the "pitot tube" looking thing in front of the cockpit?

  • That tube is for mid-air refueling purposes

  • @Historystartsnow my dad flies those...

  • @fpaloazul They call it the "donkey dick," and it's for mid-air refueling.

  • I believe that only the navy is getting the prowlers replaced. The Marines as usual are going to get stuck with old junk from the navy. "The Pig" as we used to call it.

  • The U.S. Navy selected the EA-18G to replace the EA-6B Prowler, which has been in service since 1971. Boeing/Northrop Grumman received the EA-18G Systems Development and Demonstration phase contract on Dec. 29, 2003. The aircraft's first flight occurred in 2006. EA-18G flight and mission system testing is taking place at the Navy's Patuxent River, Md. and China Lake, Calif., test sites through 2008.

  • A derivative of the combat-proven, two-seat F/A-18F Super Hornet, the EA-18G, which is being developed for the U.S. Navy, will enable warfighters to perform an array of airborne electronic attack (AEA) missions, operating from either the deck of an aircraft carrier or land-based fields. The EA-18G integrates the capabilities of the most advanced AEA system, designed and produced by Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems.

  • I read on JED, Journal of Electronic Defense, that the EA-6B will be grounded at the end of 2009. TheTwo development EA-18G aircraft have been delivered. Four Lot 30 EA-18G aircraft will be built for Operational test and Evaluation.

  • The EA-6B Prowler has been grounded. It has been replaced by the upgraded EF-18 Growler. The were having alot of problems with the upgrade, hope they can make it work. I was with VMAQ-2 Playboys from March 84 to December 87. Work for Maintenance Admin...

  • They're not grounded.

  • I miss my VMAQ-2 Playboys Prowlers. Before they painted the ghost grey scheme. Our birds were the sexiest EA-6Bs around. We called them the bandits with the gloss black and white paint and the flat black infront of the wind shields.

  • Sad to see this Lady go. She wasn't the fastest the Navy had but she was the sexiest. The Growler better make us proud.

    Great vid btw!

  • Thank you!

  • @trloyalist but now shes with the marines!!

  • so sad .. intruder, prowler, replaced by the F18,, jack of all trades, master of none!! long live the Intruder

  • Q-2 had the best logo when they were the Q-2 "Playboys" and had the Playboy bunny. Good ol' Cherry Point.

  • nice video, but it's best watched with the sound off.

  • Not in the marine corps....

  • They are retiring the aircraft now. The new Super Hornet is going to replace them.
