I read somewhere that both the Prowler and the Intruder were very difficult to fly, especially in combat. Pilots of both planes required extensive training, more so than others. Am I wrong?
Nice video, ERROR IN NARRATIVE OF SQUADRON HISTORY HOWEVER: The squadron reorganization was effected 01 July 1992 vice 01 Oct; I should know, I was the Aircraft Maintenance Chief at the time.
Yea blow yourself to pieces and take some of the inocent people wht you and Alla promis you the 70 virgins but you forget you blow up al you genitals to pieces to. frustrating mann... and you believe that rubish there is no word of love in the whole koran but only war and hate the only thing whe can learn from your believe is the generas hospitality thats what need de west most
Hmm these planes are not built for air to air combat :( It would be damn scarry if they bump into enemy boggies on 1 of their missions and have no air support.
Allah!! Look at me! I'm a sand monkey! Alalalalalala!!!!! Fuck you. Stinky ass diaper head. Thousand of people died on 9/11. They were innocent civilians. The military responded. don't act surprised bitch. We follow rules of engagement... Ok Ahmed? So we try to limit civilian casualties while the Taliban uses human shields. So fuck you you dirty camel fucking rag head.
@Historystartsnow actually if you do your research it was the you who flew planes into the towers. you dumb fuck. i feel so sorry for you american you think you live in the land of the free but your government and congress rape you in the ass constantly
I believe that only the navy is getting the prowlers replaced. The Marines as usual are going to get stuck with old junk from the navy. "The Pig" as we used to call it.
The U.S. Navy selected the EA-18G to replace the EA-6B Prowler, which has been in service since 1971. Boeing/Northrop Grumman received the EA-18G Systems Development and Demonstration phase contract on Dec. 29, 2003. The aircraft's first flight occurred in 2006. EA-18G flight and mission system testing is taking place at the Navy's Patuxent River, Md. and China Lake, Calif., test sites through 2008.
A derivative of the combat-proven, two-seat F/A-18F Super Hornet, the EA-18G, which is being developed for the U.S. Navy, will enable warfighters to perform an array of airborne electronic attack (AEA) missions, operating from either the deck of an aircraft carrier or land-based fields. The EA-18G integrates the capabilities of the most advanced AEA system, designed and produced by Northrop Grumman Integrated Systems.
I read on JED, Journal of Electronic Defense, that the EA-6B will be grounded at the end of 2009. TheTwo development EA-18G aircraft have been delivered. Four Lot 30 EA-18G aircraft will be built for Operational test and Evaluation.
The EA-6B Prowler has been grounded. It has been replaced by the upgraded EF-18 Growler. The were having alot of problems with the upgrade, hope they can make it work. I was with VMAQ-2 Playboys from March 84 to December 87. Work for Maintenance Admin...
I miss my VMAQ-2 Playboys Prowlers. Before they painted the ghost grey scheme. Our birds were the sexiest EA-6Bs around. We called them the bandits with the gloss black and white paint and the flat black infront of the wind shields.
