I loved the orange&black livery introduced in the 80s.................. it was bold and brash in a good way and suited the brash urban landscape of Glasgow. I don't think the "blood & custard" livery really suits the more modern units. Was that a departmental 84 in the last shot of the depot? I think the 84s were built in Glasgow and were the first AC electrics class to be withdrawn.(in 1980).
Interesting stuff - the units in blue and grey are Class 311s, a later addition to the fleet built by Cravens of Sheffield, the original 91 trains being built in 1959-61 by the Paisley firm of Pressed Steel. They represented an unlikely Government investment in the West of Scotland, and were so successful that they revolutionised rail commuting in Glasgow and are fondly remembered by citizens and visotors alike. I hope to post my own modest recordings of them soon.
Back when you could film a train at a train station without any bother.
Now I'd imagine you could possibly be arrested for standing at a train station using a camcorder.
