Every single time I hear this song or any of her songs I stop what I'm doing, I listen the whole song and when it ends I thinkl "GOD, WHAT A SONG". Every single time.
@MultiBudboy Amy isn't .. no.. there are better white females in Soul then her that were out before her and are still alive. Nikka Costa for example is still alive and it's true to her art despite not selling.
I agree wit all the people who thinks Janis Joplin is soul it is ashame that she died it is a tragedy I miss her no telling wat songs she wud hav put out
100 percent true fact- I have head near 2 dozen Janis Joplin songs an i have not heard one i didnt like. This song is by far my favorite, even tho i didnt believe she sang it at first, because even tho it has the same message of love that most of her songs have, its different; in a good way -Nick
I love how many of the bands in the sixties incorporated that big band sound into their music. That and Janis' voice make this song, in my opinion, the piece de resistance of that sound. Just frikkn awesome!!!
@balltuss2 idk i think janis joplin is up their. but i highly suggest if you dont know the song its called the great gig in the sky by pink floyd i think you should really check it out i think the girl singing it her vocals dominate janis joplins.
I mean, we all die at a certain point in time because that's just the way it is. It's not a wasted life if you did something with it, even if you killed yourself with drugs later. Death is part of life is what I'm trying to say. It's bound to happen and when it does you should embrace it, it's gonna be the best DMT trip of your life!
What a stupid comment, 0MissRose0. She was 27 when she died. It WAS a waste...it's a waste of time lost in our short little lives when she had so much more to offer and she was a good person. She died alone in a hotel b/c of drugs...no f***ing "best DMT trip of your life" there. Love was her best trip, if you know anything about her. Death may be a part of life, but her life was wasted b/c of heroin.
Sonicyoungster had it right. The waste was her future.
