they look very pale and sick i had tiger barbs that would stand still like that in the tank later they all died..found out the ammonia and nitrites in my tank where to high i had never even heard of the nitrogen cycle before but i know about now and my water is clean and safe =)...Those died didnt they?
I have a betta once. He was fat. I thought he was fat but he had dropsy. I think bettas are vurnerable to this disease. 3 bettas that i owned were killed because of dropsy. Any help?
dude i only had 2 bettas my whole life and 1 died of dropsy...he is in my video that says "male betta tankmates" i was so sad because he lived for over 3 1/2 years....i thought dropsy was rare but then i noticed dropsy is the most common killer of bettas...idk man, it just happens, i dont think there's a cure =(..but he was fine in his 1.25 gal. then when i put him in my 20 gallon he was fine until maybe 2-3 weeks, idk if it was the water quality or watever, all my cory cats survived however
hmm idk. i always had betta fish and i just kept them in a decent sized fish bowl ( betta fish dont move toooo much so i just got a bowl) and fed them those round pellet things. sometimes i would forget to feed him for days and he lived like 3 years. and i think u can find stuff at like petsmart or other pet stores for dropsy.
arg i need help i have kissing gouramis that are only aggressive to their own species in my tank so would it be okay to put full grown neons in there?P.S. the kissers are 3-4 inches long PLZ help oh and i luv ur neons!=3
are neons compatible with discus andram chinchelids i forgot what there called i think its Microgeophagus Ramirezi or somthin i had a pair with rummynose and they did fine with the dwarfs
i think they look good. one or two are a bit thin, but all look and act perfecly normally. yes, i would only stock about 2/3 as many in that tank, but i don't think having this many would cause any real issues as long as you're doing regular water changes and feeding the right amount of the right stuff.
Whoops, I was talking to slingblade98, sorry fender. Take those neons back, you don't deserve to keep fish if you can't provide a proper home for them.
There is NO fish that should be put in a 1 gallon tank. Bettas can survive in there, their lifespan would be shorten a little but they could survive, but absolutely nothing else! Not even small fish like neon tetras. Especially since they are schooling fish, and need groups of at least 8 to live their full life, but over 15 is better.
Take the neons back to the store you bought the, you will save them from a lot of suffering, Fenderbender79.
i dont know how big my tank is in gallomns coz im not american but it is 65 litres and 2ft wide and im thinking of buying 4 neons ,, i already have 2 silver sharks (im gonna take them out when they get too big) 3 mollies, 2 guppies, 2 angelfish, and 2 gold sucking cats
The angels will get too big and likely eat the neons when they grow.
If I were you, I'd get a single bolivian ram instead, great, peaceful cichlids. I would also drop the mollies and add another guppy. With guppies you need 1 male to 2 or 3 females, or just get all females or all males, but with only 2 there will be too much agression. And bump it up to 6 or 8 neons they have such a small bio-load you will hardly notice. Of course as always, do at least 50% water changes a week, or 25% twice.
im not looking to breed guppies though neons are only 2.50 from where i ghet my fish from and my angels and al my fish are babies so the neons with last till the angels and shark grows.
"tetra" is a division of fish not a fish itself for example there is a silver tip tetra neon tetra cardinal tetra wich is like the neon but the red at the bottom goes all the way throo the fish.and thats just a few out the top of my mind
Well, neon tetras only grow about an inch, and the rule for a well balanced aquarum is an inch of fish per gallon of water.. I dunno how big those other tetras you said grow to but even if those others grow to bout 3 inches each, you can properly fit about 46-47 neons in there with them.
so sad, last year i bought 120neons to fullfil my tank and finished my monthly money, a week later my new maid change the water and all of them were RIP T__T
if you bought that quantity of fish it's no surprise they died. when you buy a new tank you have to introduce fish slowly because it takes time for filters to biologically develop; the fact a shop sold you that many in the first place is quite irresponsible. Neon's grow up to 4 cm so you'd need a 180 gal tank at least and this still might not be safe. perhaps you should have found this out yourself without leaving it down to your "maid".

i was wondering...would these fish go along with my 1 male betta, and 6 cory cats in a 20 gallon long?
spikedude2091 3 years ago
yes. i just got 5 neon tetra in addition to my crowntail betta in a 10 gallon tank
at first he chased them a bit, but not attacked.
they were scared at first but they seem to get along

tetras have a tendency to be nippy with long finned fish such as bettas though.... you may have problems down the road.

If the neons get to full size before the angels, you should be ok.
Unless it is an altum angel, those are big.
Guitar5525 3 years ago
typically they say one fish per gallon but these are fine because tetras are so small, they have plenty of room i feel
perfecthonor 3 years ago
Your tank is too small! They aren't swimming! Plus it doesn't have hardly any plants and you need a black gravel instead of that color you have now!

those are certainly neon tetras, there is no doubt about it they obviously are NOT cardinals, so stop asking that!
Nice neons by the way!

The top part of neon tetra bodies are an olive green color. Nothing is wrong with your water.
FenderBender79 4 years ago
!!! dont put neons in with angels they'll get eaten alive as soon as the angels grow.
As for the green it's probably cause your water quality is junk
Guitar5525 4 years ago
Not always. I made sure my neons grew to a decent size before I placed them in my tank with my (huge) angelfish. They're all doing just fine.
