  • OS X and W7 are similar, there was INSPIRATION from OS X.

    It's not a rip-off.

    Two words: "Shut... up."

  • Mike rules the world?

  • I think so!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • u see i dont think windows 7 is going to bhe like that ..is just going to be like any other OS now but with new features

  • windows 7 is just vista with 4 rips off mac os x.

    1. dock

    2. airport menu

    3. home group

    4. jumplists

    and multitouch

unlike mac os x leopard with it's 300 new features including running windows itself.

    windows still sucks.

  • loser

  • ?what

  • its What?

    and you...

  • notice in this video the little shink and grow effect? yeah guess where they got that idea! OS X!!!

  • Ugh, this is way too corporate for my tastes. Who carries tablet pcs around a construction site?

Why don't companies make videos of products people will actually have and use?

  • Mike seems like he is trying to cause the robot uprising?

  • ok the talk recognition is a bit much. we all know that never works. specially for such a long sentance of random words. 'show bay window schematic' ... no wonder they needed to take it down.

  • Mike is fat and unfit.

  • Aaa I think that it is time MIKE to get a girlfriend.

    :)

Or he can love his laptop

  • one question to native americans... can you explain in couple sentences why you build 90% of your homes from cardboard, drywall and some wood? And then the hurricane strikes ;)))

Your houses are so 3-rd world in the construction terms...

  • Who cares about Windows 7? Only a monopoly could stop selling a product such as XP that its customers prefer while forcing them into something else like Vista or Windows 7 as if they were sheep. Sorry Microsoft but no more passing Go and collecting $200.00.

  • They were running XP for half a decade. The consumer was begging for a change. The only reason vista hasn't met expectations is because of Macintosh's advertising making it seem as though Vista was an error plagued disaster.

  • Not this consumer, XP runs like a charm and so does Win2000 for that matter. Besides, Microsoft's main customer are businesses and they have no desire to be forced into needless upgrades that require more hardware and updated software.

No the only ones begging for change were shareholders looking for more profits.

  • im not sure that Microsoft's main consumers are businesses... after all a big corporation wont buy one copy of an operating system per computer when buying, its usually a corporate edition that covers them all. nowhere near as expencive.

if you run a small accounting firm or something and XP works for you that's great.. but that dosnt mean you need to hold the whole world back from utilizing its new technology to the full for your sake.

  • The thing is there's million's of those small businesses around the world and most are using Windows. It's mostly their pressure that's keeping XP on the market for now because they can't afford the extra costs with moving to Vista.

  • I Agree Windows Vista Was a big misstacke for Microsoft. And i don't fink that Windows 7 will be a god operating system. Do like i do Use Linux :D

  • Even if Windows 7 is another XP the economy may keep sales down. I think XP is going to be around for a while.

  • this would make lihe much easier...

  • i believe this is possibly quite exagerated... but then again i am basing this stuff on my current tech that i have... ill try and look up some of the stuff that it seems to claim

  • Nice

  • if you get a virus, will your whole house will turn blue and explode?

  • rotfl

  • XD nice one

  • The chances of Microsoft pulling this off is about as high as, well, a crashed airplane...

  • wow, that looks really interesting. but it looks very advanced, wont it take up much space and make the computer slow?

im not an expert so if u know more plzz pm me:)

  • wow so if one people changer it be doing one think it cud mess up let take that house now if a kid get hold of one of the computer and delete or add more stuff they got 2 buy more door or u cud end up wiv no door and how it safe i cant see how it is then u think about stuff

  • That's a lot of freaking gadgets for a construction dude. don't you think? I don't even wanna imagine the cable guy. ha

  • Oh no!!! A car with Microsoft's software

  • All this could be real, if those devices would cost max. 50 $. Maybe in 2020?

  • This is almost magical, but what if you dont have internet or where the hell is your data store then? in a microsoft server? probably it will need subcription or something to take your money away + have you under their surveillance for "malicious software"

  • And exactly how fast will you get your data. It seems as if the applications are stored on his profile, and not on the hardware. So that would mean that we'd require SUPER FAST broadband... Unless it is ran on the server, but then again, millions of users on a few servers? Nu uh. As Windows 7 is today, there is a long way to go, seeing as I'm using it now.

  • wot mean it not safe

  • good ideea, is the best. microsoft windows 7 is the real future of operating system.

  • Vista's speech recognition is just fine. So is Windows 7's

  • youtube: windows vista voice recognition perl

the first video that comes up

  • Seen that. And the person speaking has not configured it correctly.

  • Vista's speech recognition is far from fine. I've used it on my computer and although it does work more than half the time it's still not good enough to use. Whether your navigating through Windows or writing a report it's not good. Try saying "I scream" or "Ice cream" in word and see how that turns out. There's so many bugs to it.

  • Then you didn't train it enough.

You just probably plugged it in and ran it. Use the program "Train your computer to better understand you" it is annoying, but after 2 times the recognition has improved drastically, after 4 it is almost failsafe.

  • yeah and each device probably cost over $1000

  • i love these ideas, wonder how many will actually be implemented

  • yeah, and probably EVERY device MUST use Windows 7, anything older will not be supported!

  • yay, games will move to D10x!!!

    \m/

  • Lol he just puts it down on the wheel thing.

He shouldn't even be in construction, fucking dumbass.

  • looks like linux + vista ..!

  • i would like to see that happen

  • In this preview, when the computer got crushed, it shouldn't have, for the new feature should have been like super strength or something. Like , a computer that is hard to break.

  • I just want it to be reliable not flash just relianle and faster. They keep moving stuff around you waste months trying to find out where simple things are, Vista is crap very flash but crap. evertime you buy a new computer with the latest bloat whare it's doesn't run any faster that the previous pc, less code is best, make two version both complette one fancy and one that gets on with it no frills, RELIABLE RELIABLE!!!!!!

  • EXACTLY

  • I hope this one is good. Otherwise, if they keep going on with all there bugs, they obviously killing themself.

And maybe, just maybe, if they would get rid of their "folklorik" useless window frame, then, maybe, that saved power would just maybe JUST MAYBE help it from crashing. Who are the jerks who needs that window frame anyway??? Just because its called windows doesn't mean it has to wear a frame ALL THE TIME!!!

If they would really wanna simplified, that would be the first step.

    Peace

  • I really hope they WONT make any Windows controlled locks for the doors to the house.

Reason 1: What if Windows would crash and you would have to start up from the inside?

Reason 2: It would be possible to "Hack" in.

Reason 4: What if the batteries run dry?

And I didn't have energy to write up a reason 3 so you will have to stick with 4.

  • You're also a "faggot".

  • too bad u cant use any sort of high quality Graphics card, no SLI or crossFire. ANd no quad 2 core CPUs. plus no PC games, and u paid over 2000 dollars for 500 dollars worth of hardware. ohh and a OS so glossy it hurts my eyes.

  • go Microsoft!!!

  • What the fuck is it with these companies and eye-candy? It's just resource-hogging. If they stopped doing it, battery-life, resources and performance would significantly increase along with new hardware.

  • Actually that eye candy has a function. Besides feeling more organic and natural, the special effects also help convey the information more effectively, as opposed to classically popping out a window with no transition. You get a better sense of where the information is coming from.

  • Yes, some of it do have functionality.

But all that aestethically pleasing is just waste of perfectly capable hardware.

And I will never get it, I'm a guy that spend most of my working days in a command-line environment to do the most advanced work.

  • And I'm a guy that has cracked dongle protection in assembly language (among other things) and I still would find it very useful.

I want my operating system to be able to show different layers of input, from the most organic and natural, to the most low level and cryptic. My mind is not always in "l33t mode", so I would definetly want the OS to do the thinking on occasion.

And it would be a waste NOT to use the hardware, as UI graphic layers can always lend their time to other tasks.

  • "And it would be a waste NOT to use the hardware, as UI graphic layers can always lend their time to other tasks. "

And there's the problem, it doesn't do that in an efficient way.

And I never mentioned being "l33t" because I use a CLI. I use it because I like it.

And like I said, it do have functionality, but do you need it too look so good while being efficient?

  • show me that worker guy lol....

  • I own an iMac which I traded with my Toshiba laptop, let me say I regret that step, I mostly use my computer for CAD, Autodesks Autocad line of software is standard in most companies and it runs only on Windows! for Mac, you see Mac computers are very excelled in terms of top quality materials and well designed operating system though there isn't the amount of developers on macs compared to windows because of apples very closed policy will buy a new PC and use mac for internet browsing

  • what the fuck why take it so seriously who gives a shit that thing wont be out till late 2015's-2020's and if it is out half of us wont be able to afford it anyway, damn most of us bitching about high gas prices and ms over there developing somethign that will just piss money out of your ass, and bust it like fuck with security issues and unstability. watch a hacker brute forces into his profile and dude is fucked for life.

  • I like the new features windows 7 has and all but,how about a more stable system,is windows 7 going to be more stable, with less security holes.

  • The idea of the future looks really cool but it seems that we're gonna get too tech dependable. I already know how that feels cause the first thing i do in the morning is turn on my pc and i can't leave anywhere without a mobile phone and a mp4. Also knowing my internet is down makes me very angry even if, most of the times i don't use it, but i just wanna know its there. The video is great though but i bet it won't get real till 2013-2015 or possibly more.

  • I like windows vista..my cousin has it and idk how to use it because I have the old windows called windows "xp"

  • When the windows open... it's a copy of OSX Wigits Closing! Microsoft... Get your Photocopiers ready!

  • is that Windows 7 mobile OS will work with all cellphones?

  • Probably not, only Windows Mobile Phones.

  • I hate all this shit with Microsoft V Windows. The bottom line is, we need to advance in technology. Everybody's gonna rip an idea off somebody, because otherwise the world would be owned by a couple of huge companies. If Microsoft take a couple of ideas from Apple, so what?!?! Appla have done the exact same before!

  • i think MobileMe is a kind of ripoff of Novell and Windows 7...

  • hello? how trashy is this ad? Who da heck out there as a contractor is this tech dependent? Whoever made this has never work a day in the trade.

  • Wtf! I want that giant-ass tabletop display!

  • a bit utopic I guess..

  • WTF

  • NOBODY CARES THAT APPLE HAD IT FIRST! We need it in Windows NOW!

  • everybody cares that apple had it first. And your fave company (microsoft) may well get sued! hurray.

  • The courts are sick of Apple vs Microsoft cases. The best Apple can do now is when their well researched and expensive R&D efforts are stolen, just sit back and laugh at how pathetic Microsoft is. It's not even worth the money anymore.

  • Yea, and I'm still waiting for the futuristic hover cars that were supposed to be here by the year 2000... It's a bunch of nifty ideas, but I'd rather they spent these fluff PR production budgets on making decent shipping products...

  • I really like that it high tech. Can't wait until I can use all of that.

  • lame ass "preview" all of that is a concept, and the music was lame. Funny the video was about putting in a window.

  • It actually to the gps 3 seconds to calculate 3 roads way to slow.

  • I'll be more impressed than I would be by a stupid warp effect they accomplished in 2010 when they get Aero's blurring to work when minimizing windows or using flip 3D (which was an unintentionally useless waste of effort).

  • A home and car completely ran by a microsoft OS why does this seem like a very bad idea to me...

  • i will just use windows 7 in pc

  • This add isn't realistic at all, I mean come one an architect who draws on a plasma table and who would spend thousands of dollars on different devices? And look at that guy's reaction when the bulldozer crushed his (I guess) $1000 tablet PC, it just isn't a realistic view.

  • ya sure, flying cars were supposed to be around by now, and microsofts saying this will be around in 2010?

  • ya... tell me about it.. with bluetooth technology like it is.. systems like that could easily be made.

  • wow if only they stopped with the crap and got down to business and created this.

  • This is not Windows 7. This is just what MS are aiming for. They said something like 'If you're impressed with the features of iPhone, you'll be blown away with Windows 7'.

It looks too good to be true, but it probably is possible.

  • its not a win7 preview its a microsoft commercial u junk...

  • Ahh...Yeah. and when someone hacks into "Mike's computer" he will be fucked! Because he has relied upon computers soo much his brain has become mush and he's a slave to them and can't do a thing without them. "Electronic-slavery" brought to you by M$! Hey Mike someone erased all of your info what you gonna do now??! LMAO. I hate "suits" the real movers are blue collar anyways.

  • Hypocrite much?

  • that looks so awesome

  • Is it really going to be like this? because if it will, then Apple with get burned!

  • strangly enough it is. Windows 7 was orinally ment to be just for home tasks like telling a computer to turn on the heating, downloading resipies and displaying it on a kitchen counter ect. But I never have thought it could do stuff with the phone and the car and work.

  • NICE!

  • Exactly. Apple does it. MS does it. It's all about making what exists better to use, and better looking.

  • con cuea se inicia el windows y esperen que crea que hoy por hoy se puede hacer todo eso? esto es una FAKE

  • LOL, sure, join together mac OS and linux? that'll take a lot of time, doesnt mean it beat windows ass though, maybe your the retard

  • It always starts off with wonderful ideas such as these, but half of them don't make it even to the drawing board, let alone into our homes; which is a real sham in my opinion. There are also too many people out there who would not enjoy this kind of integration.

  • thats already real, its called microsoft sync and microsoft table thingy

  • Yep but if I remember well, the Microsoft table uses cameras to se what is on the table and where the table is touched. That's old technology IMO.

  • Absolutely beautiful. Wonderful concept.

  • by that time apple will be running everything

  • stanni1992 & emirilyasov :

Nah, you both are totally out.

Actually, what you see there is M$ trying to make Windows even more "n00bs-friendly" (like Apple). N0obs-friendly + windows = "n00bs unable to keep a comip secure" which means there will be more annoying security. It will become even more bloated of security and it may even become so "secure" than any tweaking you can easily do now in XP and Vista may become almost impossible unless you're a very advanced user.

  • And that's exactly what you hate about Mac, you have to work the way Mac OS wants you to unless you're a very advanced user and tweak the kernel extensions (.kext). Windows will become the same because M$ wants it to be more noobs-friendly but on top of that, it will have more security annoying crap.

  • Windows will never beat Mac. period.

  • LOL Mac OS Leopard's Drag and Drop.

    M$ is wannabe

  • It's a cool concept but it's go nothing to do with Windows 7...

  • wow awesome

  • To think that the future is just get limited; I actually thing it will be more logical to have organic devices or something like that. But I'ts Microsoft They are @$#073$!!, so it's normal that they think about this stuff

  • lol there using apples transitions

  • yes geenie! or like it is called in linux vacuum.

  • i have those effects on my ipod touch lmao

  • LOL! A lot of thumbs down from M$ lovers in denial of M$ stupidity and wannabeism

  • No, it's only because what many people say make sense.

Oh, and I guess you aren't aware that MS is a company, are you? Because like any other company, they make a profit, so the $ isn't really needed.

  • You sure are not g33k enough to understand the $ in M$

  • Nah, no big deal.

  • Apple has seen stuff like this - and they are now working on getting voice recognition in to the next versions of OS X. The only reason they manage to get a step a head is because MS releases their ideas way too far ahead, and since MS is so big, ideas get leaked. Apple, on the other hand keeps everything very hush hush...

  • Apple already had voice recognition in MacOS in the 90s, and they included it in MacOS X. It was a good first step back when it was first introduced, and it's fun to play with, but it's been standing still for a while now.

  • Oh and do u see a small, little detail when the windows close and open? Yeah? Apple?

  • I hope they don't keep it, it looks tacky

  • Seriously: Do u want your car to ask you a dozen of questions everytime you get into it?

  • What do you mean? Questions or notifications? Notifications are pretty important.

And it only asked like 3 in the car. You can probably disable them.

  • The car updating you on notifications is rather stupid though, that's what I have my cellphone for. we all know we will just plug stuff into the neck anyway like in GITS in the future.

This is all jsut fancy schmancy eyecandy, if you really want a difference and make fast decisions; cyborg-style is the way to go, changing the external pheriparals for how we work doesn't change much else but ergonomics.

    IMO

  • So you're going to be driving and looking at notifications on your cellphone at the same time, right?

Isn't there some law against this?...

  • nope, not here atleast.

but if your multitasking skills would be inferior one could always put it on voice-syntesis activated by voice-command instead. would leave your arms/eyes free for other tasks and helpful for the physically challenged people.

  • While driving, we can't use a cellphone by holding it anymore here (QC/CAN). We have to use bluetooth headsets.

  • He's talking about Vista's 3456345 questions to know if you are sure of what you're doing, i.e. changing clock time.

  • Imagine this:

Sit down in car wich asks "Set house to away mode?" *Press Yes*

    waits a few seconds...

    BSOD!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • lmfao, i can imagine that

  • This is not about faken fancy effects! The main thing is integrating IT in bussines services.

All the posts about how windows or linux rock or suck is bull.

Everything is perfect if you know how to use it!

  • thats like the most gigantic tablet pc in the world (like half way in the clip). If that will be the standard for comfortable computer use.. the price of tablet pc's will have to go down dramaticaly because the biggest wacom tablet with screen is 21" (cintiq) so thats like not even close to the size of the tablet in the clip. An then the price: the cintiq will cost you 2840 euros without taxes! So can you imagine how much the one in the clip would cost...

  • It is called a multi touch table. They already have these. Check them out.

  • why would you put your computer there??? and then he like, dosn't even care that it just got crushed.

  • That window manager could be Compiz if you ask me.

  • Even though this is only a concept video it would take a lot of software and hardware for all of the things show. The operating system itself would cost even more than vista.

  • 'Mike's info is available on any device,' and to anyone by the looks of it

  • Hey my mac does that effect with the windows, you know the suck thing

  • What a boring video!

  • how did this product make this guys life any easier?

  • Well as the video shows, Win7 looks like it can be integrated and used on multiple devices. From mobile phone, TV, car, computer, etc. And it showed how easy it is for multiple users to have access to data on the fly. Very neat if you ask me.

  • where is youre head?

  • they should call it Microsoft Copycat OS LOL :P

  • or better than "mack crap" :@

  • Is this real? I don't think Microsoft could have made anything worse supposing they tried.

  • That would be fucking awesome, but it wont happen any time soon.

  • i can't believe you rolled over my tablet...oh well

  • wow i like the way the windows maximize and minimize microsoft should have this in windows 7 defo

  • lol they stole a mac os x minimizing effect.

  • Actually this was stolen from linux. mac stoled it and copied from linux and now windows too so pathetic..

  • Ok sorry i didn't know that, the point is that microsoft cant make anything new and inovative.

  • LOL! Smartphone with Windows Mobile 7.0 controlling the TV. Car computer has got a Windows 7 and controlling the house. Microsoft has got a lot of brain :D
