if you notice the flat iron it is domed shaped on the outside. the iron plates are flat, but if you are trying to curl your hair with a iron where its outside is flat as well, it is terribly difficult; you will not be able to curl your hair (so quickly) like in this vid, it will also create kinks in your hair. use a heat protectant: make sure hair is dry when you iron/curl it. you will fry and burn your hair if you try to do it while still damp with product.

you either need to angle it more or go slower, just to make sure it holds a curl. if you go too fast the heat wont be able to curl it.

you have to do it by twisting it in an angle. if your hair is sticking out, try doing it with a bigger angle
