  • Hey DC, this is a pretty good video. Loved watching it, a welcome break from all the regular Parkour action videos of moves performed here and there edited together.

Good to see some serious training and drilling.

  • i no him

  • How physically fit do you have to be for parkour? Do you have to be extremely fit, or about average?

also any Lifting involved, or is it best to go out and do it and practice?

  • well while being fit is a plus for parkour. some people do it to get fit. I used to be 270 lbs after training for about a year and a half im down to about 220 and still dropping. i train about 4x a week, and its worth it

  • Heyy Jess !!!

When it comes to parkour. Training and bieng fit is really important, at some point you will stop progressing unless you are getting stronger in your legs, and upper body...

Do back squats, deadlifts and shoulder press once a week each. Also ass lots of pullups, push up, and all these movments.

  • Excellent training video, 5/5 and Subscribed = ]

  • Tis a sad that that copyright issues had to spring up. That song was really good for the entire video.

  • WTF is this its not DC

  • really? But I am DC :-P (Maybe you thinking of someone else perhaps?)

  • sry my bad I was looking for the DC shoes team and I thought you were trying to say you were sponsered by them for freerunning lol ... didnt know you called yourself DC

  • Hey, no worries.

DC shoes wouldn't be that great for free running anyways. I have a pair of Josh Kalis signatures. Love the shoes, but not for training. :-/

  • hi dane its tom from the whitton school parkour club with frankie just want to say great vids and thanks for the help you gave me

  • WOW!!! I loved that video! it really inspirred me how to train, and keep being in focus of the obstacles around me. And just take "..one step at the time" :P

-in few words; A great video that shows, what Parkour is!! It really helped me! :D

  • great vid, deff motivates me to just work my spot until I have perfected its area and surrounding. Not to mention its a decent song too haha

  • Thank you for the comments and remember to keep training! :-)

  • im going to be back out you way in July. Hope to see you at Trace.

  • still such an inspiring video.

  • ooooo... tic-tacs to precision. Nice. I like your "repetition, focus & progression" motto, too.

  • man, I love this video

  • really well done i think

step by steps the way to do it

arm vaults are the hardest thing for me just under flips

im definatly physically capable its just when u think youll fall thats what hits ya

    good video

  • can you tell me the name o the song?

  • Jurassic 5 - Concrete Schoolyard

One of my favourites. Especially with the opening voice being that of Bill Cosby. "We were just sitting out on the step, you know"

  • Loved it! keep it up

  • Damn, this video always makes me happy, dont know why ;) Keep on training guys...

  • nice video

this is problay my favourite type of training

    slowly building up

    keep up the good work

  • Hey hey, you got it! Nice :)

  • sweet i respect & agree with ur view on trainin. good luck with next year

  • very nice! i like that kind of training like you sad "slowly build up towards my goal" and "repetition focus and progression" very good stuff

  • Just randomly watched this vid again, and its so nice and neat. Been busy? Any chance of any more videos? Come to Birmingham (or Sheffield) some time :). Peace.

    -Woody-

  • Again, another reason why evolution is possible. Humans + climbing + jumping around = Hell lot of fun!

  • hey DC i got a question for ya. is it ok to bend your knees past 90 degrees? i've always been taught not to.

  • 'cause i noticed you do

  • Hey Robbie. Rule of thumb while learning: bending past 90 is bad. In the video you'll see different types of landings. Some beyond 90, others not. It depends on take-off & impact my legs will take. People, environment, situations differ & while you should listen to experts, I also suggest finding what works best for you. I rarely do many drops & from very high. If training involves drops then I leave it a few weeks before trying again. Rest is very important for the body to heal itself!

  • This movie is so perfect. Really really nice job!

  • Awesome dude. This is how everyone should train parkour. Why take unecessary risks.

That fall looked nasty, glad you nailed it in the end.

  • Really inspirational training, with such a great message behind it, 'One step at a time...' :) The shots were also really well set up...

  • its sad, that so few ppl watched this :'(

  • Nice dude, those are the two things I want to learn too! Kong to precision, and Kong to Cat.. You can teach me sometime :P haha, see ya on Pkcali + some jams sometime

  • I like it, good stuff. See you on pkcali.

  • That is definitely a very good video.

I like that type of stuff.

Great work, and, in my opinion, much mor impressive than making big drops and other dangerous stuff.

Best wishes from Austria, keep on, I enjy your videos TT;-)

  • Hence one of the main reasons why I don't bother pitching up at huge "jams" anymore. It very quickly turns into debauchery and distracts from the real reason people are actually at the training. :-)

    Thanks for watching though.

  • Nice One Dane, Nice to see you actually training ( sorry if that sounds offensive) but obviously every time I've seen you its been at a jam where everyone "trains" in a much less controlled manner, landings where excellent on the stair case, nice to see others doing "extreme toe pointing" nasty bail at the end D: thats the exact reason why I hate doing arm jumps onto over hangs, good to see you done it proper though :)

  • nice man, no big jump, just techniquall stuff. Keep progressing man ;) good luck with training. edit and music also perfect.

    peace

  • you change your shoes half way through don't you?

    haha.

loved the video though. really unique style of media.

don't usually get anything like this, so when it comes along, it's great to watch.

    Keep it up. :)

  • amazing man. you have progressed so much since last time i saw you. it was good seein ya today at the work shop too

  • This is my favorite Parkour video. Always gotta take it one step at a time.

  • quick reflexes

  • An excellent insight into your training approach. I found it it be inspirational DC. Cheers Zeno

  • Excellent video! Keep up the training, that's definitely the way to progress! :)

  • really nice video, thanks. wicked tune too - you heard of ozomatli? they used to have cut chemist & chali 2na from J5 in the band, well worth a listen.

  • nice one DC, i used to train at those steps when i lived in kingston, nasty bail and some sick skills there, i liked the jump over the rail to precision, good stuff, keep it up dude when i'm next in ktown we should train..u got msn, peace.

  • ps, you can hear a sample of Bill Cosby used right in the opening lines of that song. ;-)

  • The song is Jurassic 5 - Concrete Schoolyard. A group that my teammate, RIP, introduced me to a while back. J5 have since split up unfortunately. Thanks for watching and posting up your comments. :-)

  • one of the best videos i have ever seen.

  • Nice man, really good to see you still improving

  • Thanks, This Video rocks!

    Like JohnnyXF2...Favorites =D

  • Love this video!!!really good

    in my favorites!!

    keep going

  • Very nice video there, thank you for that! Loved the style of that video, you really used that simple spot to its full potential. Nice tune also, what was it? is it called Concrete streets by any chance?

  • Hey there Pawl2, nicely caught. I filmed all the rail work the day before and then the arm jump first thing that following morning. I use two pairs of shoes at the moment, one for railwork and the other for shock absorbtion. The change was just to see how my confidence would differ between pairs of shoes... and it did. I have always believed that changing shoes changes the way I move, based on the trust I have in those shoes to help me complete the various movements in my environment.

  • Loved the vid. Why the trainer switch for the arm jump? (just curious) I couldn't tell if your first trainers were soft soles or hard.

  • OMG DC! Cat to arm jump king right there!! lol, the pain looked ouchingly big, wicked video though, and i will take it one step at a time :P

  • man, it was almost worth it for the tune, love J5 so much... and great training, reminds me of me ;) haha, love the progression, and love the bail (in a strictly non- sadistic kind of way) impressive to get back up and do it!

good work, you've inspired me to stop coursework and train right now!

  • Now thats how to train, learnt so much by just watching. So glad you just got up after the failed attempt and did it. Have been wanting to do that move for a while. Landing was great in the end! We must try and jam some time :D
