@ThePwnu777 727? You clearly know nothing, since the 727 isn't even used for commercial service in America anymore. They use the 717 and 737. The 717 is far superior in terms of quietness (and efficiency on short routes) than the competing 737 and A320 that many other U.S. airlines use. And anyways, babies are young but smell like absolute shit. Young doesn't necessarily mean good smelling. :)
@WlCH3l MD-9? MD-95? Also known as the 717? The 717 first flew in 1998, so them being 20 years old is impossible. You're mixing up the MD-95 with the DC-9. :) It's like saying a 737-700/-800/-900 is old, when really they're not. It's the 737-300/-400/-500 that are.
You can knock AirTran all you want but the bottom line is that it has saved people a lot of money in Atlanta and it forced it's main competitor to expand internationally because AirTran brought it to it's knees in the domestic markets they serve.
@banstaman All the "good" airlines (i.e. Singapore, Etihad, etc.) have cloth seats because, if used right, they can be far superior in comfort than the "leather" found on Delta aircraft. In fact, many cheaper carriers opt for "leather" because it's cheaper to clean... cheap leather ain't good either. You stick to it. I did, on a DL flight from ATL-MAD.

I love how AirTran pretends to be a real airline. If you want real service, both in terms of customer service and schedule capacity, AirTran is the last thing you want. I've flown "AirTrain" and I must say United, the airline I fly most frequently, is better on so many levels. Also, the only thing that separates an old plane from a new one is the decor and the technology, they all smell he same. Believe me, I used to fly on United 727s and DC-10s before they grounded them.
Proudly Boeing! Like AS!

Older aircraft is just fine. They just have to clean them, which is apparently what didn't happen here! Love AirTran ;-)
