The reason some call it "addicting" is because they're weak to addictions not because WoW. I'm sure if you popped 1 pill you'd say "first and last day" and two months later you'll probably die from a Pill Addiction. So when you are addicted to something that is neverending such as WoW you can make a new toon and gear it anytime you want it can be destructive if you're weak to addictions.

Get an alarm clock, or use the one in game, set it to a specific time, play until then, and after that go learn. I got great grades. Just listen in class and do your homework right, you learn 80% of things that way. Sports and music are hobbies, just like games. Who says you cant do all three? You can even listen to music while playing or jogging.

Besides, going to classes and doing your homework makes the 80% of the thing?? I don't know in wich level are you son, but things don't go like that in university. Doing your homework and attending classes can make 40% as much, you have to work really hard and go find extra stuff outside, or else you are dead.

I know this is an old video but I'll still say this. People arnt addicted to WoW they are addicted to the people they play with. Well most people. If you play WoW alone it is the most boring thing for the computer...But if your friends join suddenly that quest to kill 53.2 orcs isn't so bad now that you have someone to talk to or help you.
Any true gamer will tell you graphic wise and control wise this game sucks. The only thing you need to dominate in WOW is time. Zero skill level, you want addiction play Halo online. well, i for one am addicted. I still am doing well in Real Life but others have mentioned it to me. They want to make a vid to help those addicted, good for them. I play wow because I feel accepted by the community, my guilds treats me like I was somebody, unlike the people in school, I play wow because I like it, and other people like it, we create an online community where we can talk about anything we couldn't talk about IRL.

This game doesn't ruin peoples lifes, people ruin them themselves. I used to play World of Warcraft, too. This is not drug, if you are not stupid, and you have some will, you won't get addicted. I played a lot, maybe even 8 hours some days, and had like 100 days of pure in-game time, buy I was not addicted, I still had life, friends, good marks at school, and I could stop it anytime. So I just stopped it, because I didn't like WotLK. And I don't miss it.
After reading quite a few of these comments, I've come to a conclusion. Blizzard has created the mother of all mothers as far as gaming addiction is concerned. Not only did they make it so vast and endless it can consume you, but somehow it also warps your mind into defending it like it's your child. You can't make a ludicrous statement like, "I've been playing for 7 years and I'm not addicted," and expect someone to buy it. And plus, why are current WoW players on here? Defending your child??
I haven't played WoW in years, but I'm on here now because of 2 friends I have lost to the game recently. 2 really good guys, I'd throw my life down for them, and in the span of 3 short weeks they have completely dropped off the map. What is life? Should you be addicted to work? To friends? To family? To video games? To music? To School? To drugs? Or is the point to balance them all equally? Video games make people less productive, that's the only reason people call it an addiction. They'll kill themselves soon enough, most of them are ugly anyway and the powers that be don't want them infecting the gene pool with depression and ugliness. World of warcraft is a game just like all other games you can get addicted with more people playing it though more people are addicted.However if you set limits and check how much you play sometimes you can play and have fun if you enjoy it and manage your time on it then play.You can play games without getting addicted even though people don't seem to be realizing that.

Lots of people play wow and do get addicted, but the poeple who do are normaly just kids who happen to have a lot of free times on their hands and that is why they play so much. i used to play and was on all the time but i alwase got off when i had something lse to do. even if you're addicted, you can stop the addiction and reduce the game time alot, which is what i did. before i felt like 3 hours was a little bit on world of warcraft, but now i only play 1-1.5 hours.

Addiction to a game is just like anything - if you think you have a problem, you probably do. If somebody points out that you have a problem, you probably do. Anything can be addictive - and it can be hurtful when you put it above everything else.

When I started WoW, I got very addicted couldn't stop playing, would play nights and nights, then one day, I quit for 6 months. I came back and now I play when I feel like it, and it is not nearly addicting to me as it was before I took that 6 month break. I play wow because I feel accepted by the community, my guilds treats me like I was somebody, unlike the people in school, I play wow because I like it, and other people like it, we create an online community where we can talk about anything we couldn't talk about IRL.
I play regularly but I'm not addicted, you have to learn to prioratize your day's activities.

This game doesn't ruin peoples lifes, people ruin them themselves. I used to play World of Warcraft, too. This is not drug, if you are not stupid, and you have some will, you won't get addicted. I played a lot, maybe even 8 hours some days, and had like 100 days of pure in-game time, buy I was not addicted, I still had life, friends, good marks at school, and I could stop it anytime. So I just stopped it, because I didn't like WotLK. And I don't miss it.

After reading quite a few of these comments, I've come to a conclusion. Blizzard has created the mother of all mothers as far as gaming addiction is concerned. Not only did they make it so vast and endless it can consume you, but somehow it also warps your mind into defending it like it's your child. I haven't played WoW in years, but I'm on here now because of 2 friends I have lost to the game recently. 2 really good guys, I'd throw my life down for them, and in the span of 3 short weeks they have completely dropped off the map. We would hang on a weekly basis, and yes, they sound like most of you addicts in denial. "Dude, chill out, I only play every now and then, it's not like it runs my life." This vid made WoW seem fun, anyways i played it for 3 years and realized 2 months that yeah the game is fun but you should be doing better things with your time... Or atleast play games your real life friends play.. Its not easy to quit the game mostly due to great connection to guild (clan) memmbers, so you can just make someone who play over 10 hours a day like i did quit completly. Forceing them to quit will not work maybe through your eyes but no it will just want the person to play the gam
