Walker with the W. Not decisive but Jonathan could always get out of trouble with that sneaky leg take down that took advantage of his low center of gravity.
Jonathan was the toughest player pound for pound in the NHL. He was only 5'8" and 175 lbs yet nobody wanted to mess with this guy. Sure he lost a fight or two but damn this guy intimidated the other teams. With Jonathan, O'Rielly and John Wensink they were the big bad Bruins.
@huntercalgary "on your shoulders seated backwards" Isn't that how you made your son sit when you took him to the "pride" parade when he was a kid? Maybe that's why he doesn't invite you over for the Holidays! ROTFLMAO
It's certainly why your pic is hanging at the Scottsdale post office, & that you have to introduce yourself to all your neighbors!
@huntercalgary Still begging me to visit your channel so you can compensate the attention that your son no longer gives to you? ROTFLMAO Cheer up Booster! I'm sure that after just another decade or 2 of therapy, and he'll be open to the idea of supervised visits!
Maybe if you call Dr. Phil, he can help to expedite the healing? He can call the episode "Fathers who never left their son's behind!"
@huntercalgary "up at 2AM to post" ROTFLMAO How old are you, Booster? I bet you eat dinner at 4pm to get the early bird special! LMAO Do the martinis numb your pain of your children not inviting you over for the holidays? ROTFLMAO
I thank all of you for your input regarding this fight, so you might as well hear it from the one who fought Jonathan, Stan was one of the toughest fighters in the league check out Jonathan v Bouchard. Because of his size and power he didn't lose many? This particular night he had no idea I was left handed and he got into serious trouble on a few I landed, his only way out was to grab my pants or he would have been knocked out. I would say I beat him that night. Kurt Walker
@26kurtleaf that's really interesting. I was just going to comment that Walker won this fight. I loved Jonathan but you could really fight too, Kurt. Thanks for posting.
Walker was clearly pounding Jonathans face with multiple lefts, and Jonathan was in trouble on that fight and had no idea Walker was a left handed fighter, in the end he grabs Walker pants to get relief or he would have been knocked out cold, he was very lucky in that fight that Walker didn't hammer more than he did.
I used to work out with Kurt Walker at a Nautilus gym in Quincy, MA -- Kurt is from Hingham. He was 6'2", 220 chiseled lbs, and a good guy. But this fight is a draw and, if the refs hadn't jumped in to rescue Kurt, his head would have been beaten into the ice! Check out Jonathan's fight with Mel Bridgman and you'll see what I mean.
@dempsey00 The fight I assure you was no draw, Walker hammered him with multiple lefts and all Jonathan could do was try to lift his pants so he didn't catch anymore lefts, from what I know he was almost knocked out on his feet in that fight, Joanthan was tough, but clearly he had no idea of the power in Walkers left hand.
This is a rare Jonathon loss and an equally rare video of Kurt Walker. Not many Walker bouts available for view (Schultz, Jonathon). True 70s era goon. Unfortunately, didn't hang long at the NHL level.
@stugats1 Walker fought Jonathan after just about ending Pierre Bouchards career, he hammered Jonathan with multiple lefts, and all he could do was grab his pants and try to tip him over because he knew he was serious trouble

Alot of enforcers NHL careers were ended because of Jonathon, they would loose or look not so tough against Jonathon, but were alot bigger then him

@whoibuoy Jonathan may have been listed at 5'8, but the only way he was ever 5'8 was if he was measured on skates.

He was in trouble because you are left handed and from Mass!

EDGE Walker in nice tilt.
They had god toe to toe part middle.
Both got in several good shots.
All in all, Walker landed more shots.

The Leafs used Walker to hammer on Flyer pussies like Schultz and Kelly. Unfortunately it never translated into victories over the Flyer punks.
HelmutHedd 3 years ago
Tiger Williams needed help fighting the Flyers, so Walker was inlisted to join the goon squad
kcatleticos 3 years ago
I saw Schultz pound Walker in game 3 when the Flyers were up 2-0 in the series. He was on the receiving end of the hammer in that fight.

Yep and another copout takedown by Jonathan.
