I remember that a lot of critics were talking about the box office not being good, but I think that they failed to realize that the movie came out the Friday after 9/11/2001. People wern't going to the movies that weekend or doing much of anything, but sitting in front of the TV. I enjoyed the movie too. I think after her peformance in Precious she changed a lot of minds.

Their voices just compliment each other so well. Mariah has the greatest female voice ever; it's baffling (at 4:12, the note she rests on is impeccable vocal sound). Eric Benet has a great voice as well.
"Glitter" is where reality and fantasy collide. The reality is Mariah can't act, her voice has weakened during this period, and she is not that pretty. The fantasy is the 80's/90's forever, the movie "Sparkle" rewritten and redone badly, and Mariah singing good anyway with a diminished voice.
No wonder she went nuts and was hospitalized. Reality doesn't care a bit about intent. But Mariah, your fans like me, love this album. It is up there with "Emotions" which is the best ever.

Most people who make fun of Glitter mistakenly lump the film with the album. It's true that the film was unremarkable however the album was completely satisfying. Fast, slow, up, down....pure ear candy like always, Mariah!

You wasted your time and your mother's time even COMMENTING like 5 times on something that was settled days ago. All i said is that it doesnt sound like her, which it doesn't. It's not being a fan, it's just being straight up. I know plenty of guys who can belt out that note and sound like that hence me saying i "THINK" it's eric benet, which would explain why mariah came back behind the note an octave higher, explaining the song being a "duet" .

Rebecca, surely you cannot be serious.......the "concept" of the movie mightve been good but what makes this movie an utter joke? How about Mariah Carey acts about as good as she dances? The acting was horrific not only on her end but everywhere else within the move, Terrence Howard was the only individual in this movie that had any kind of actiing talent. The music better be good, Mariah and Eric Benet are excellent. Mariah cannot act, have you seen Wise Girls? She is the new Madonna lol

I remember that a lot of critics were talking about the box office not being good, but I think that they failed to realize that the movie came out the Friday after 9/11/2001. People wern't going to the movies that weekend or doing much of anything, but sitting in front of the TV. I enjoyed the movie too. I think after her peformance in Precious she changed a lot of minds.

@rebeccaNOTbecky I looooove the album but the movie like it was just plain bad like every scene was so predictable and it didn't have any good sidelines to the movie. It was just a mess in my opinion and others. But the soundtrack really should've been better promoted because it was killer!

"Lead the Way", "Twister", "Reflections", "Never Too Far", "If We", "Want You", "Don't Stop"... that cd is always highly rated by purchasers! The cd rides from start to finish!!! HOLLA!

it sux that people ttally black listed the soundtrack because of the movie reviews. it's an awsome soundtrack. i've seen the movie and i don't see why it was so bashed. it didn't deserve an oscar or anything but it was decent. ya, she was no meryl streep but her acting was satisfactory to the moment. belive me there are worse movies

@allmine2give exactly, it just sux cuz in a way she's competing against herself but and people hav really high standardsfor her and the moment something goes slightly wrong they start scolding her. but the lambs hav supported her through and through and that's all that matters. people just can't see past the ensembles so they don't actually giv her and her incredible music a chance.

Their voices just compliment each other so well. Mariah has the greatest female voice ever; it's baffling (at 4:12, the note she rests on is impeccable vocal sound). Eric Benet has a great voice as well.

"Glitter" is where reality and fantasy collide. The reality is Mariah can't act, her voice has weakened during this period, and she is not that pretty. The fantasy is the 80's/90's forever, the movie "Sparkle" rewritten and redone badly, and Mariah singing good anyway with a diminished voice.
No wonder she went nuts and was hospitalized. Reality doesn't care a bit about intent. But Mariah, your fans like me, love this album. It is up there with "Emotions" which is the best ever.

Bull. Mariah acted fine, she's just herself mostly she did great. it's partially autobiographical ; it's not like she was playing some completely fiction character. Uhm Mariah has ALWAYS been beautiful, dunno what you're talking about. Her voice was strong as ever too.

The Glitter soundtrack so great and people sleep on that album. MC was actually a few years ahead of the 80s throwback that's so popular now.
This song is great. I love MCs collaborations with male r&b singers. This is excellent and so were her collabos with Joe, Trey, & Luther.

Most people who make fun of Glitter mistakenly lump the film with the album. It's true that the film was unremarkable however the album was completely satisfying. Fast, slow, up, down....pure ear candy like always, Mariah!
