  • Yeah!!!

    Bluey in a Citroën DS!!!

  • The Masters At Work remix cleans it up a bit and makes it more enjoyable as a song.

  • Ilove It!

  • @cacopes - Don't get me wrong, My issue is not with the ladies, they can sing!!! However, the original Nights Over Egypt is a classic that I heard on a trip home from SC to NYC and it has stuck with me since.. This version sounds too much like house music, and if you listen to most of it, it sounds all the same..

  • It's not the original, but it's still dope anyway...

  • You better SING, Jocelyn!!!!! I used to shout on the dancefloor when this played. She took me to church at the end!

  • I love the original but incognito did a great job!

  • For when a video DVD incognito? The record company too loose

  • i remember the jones girls' version in 1981.... it was hot... but in cognito is my fave.... yes, bluey is king.... saw him tear it up in atlanta with mesa leake in1995 in Little 5 Points. i have everything they ever did.... karuna del mar [jazz & funk muse]

  • This cut is nothing but a feeble attempt... If you really listen to the original, you'll get a feel why this re-make doesn't do anything past what the Jones Girls accomplished with it.. Sorry Incognito, nice try

  • @mikemillion2000

If you haven't already, try listening to the album version. It is about 6 min long but IMO it does this version a little better justice than the edit for this video.

  • This is when 'Nito was at their best vocally...Those ladies (and the dude) were killing it on those albums Positivity/Talking Loud-->Beneath the Surface....THEY WERE BLOWING AT THE END---REAL SINGING NOOOOOO AUTOTUNE THERE!!!!

  • Artists Zo! and Carlitta Durand redid this song on the album called "just visiting too" it's worth a check out.

  • i like the orginial version better by the jones girls. but this one this good too.

  • omg is that Max Beesley from the Glitter movie?

  • Lol, I think it is. You have a good eye.

  • I thought it was him. He played Dice in Glitter.

  • am I the only girl here who fancies Bluey?????

  • omg-i remember hearing the original version long ago...

  • I like the original better...

  • is a great song !!!! I love Incognito !!!!

  • WOW!!! My favorite incognito songs. Thanks...

  • omg this is my faveeeeeeeeeeeeeee frkn love this

  • YEAH ME TOO!

  • Goooooood!

  • i love it , The best song ever maybe :)

  • Still like the original best. Dexter Wansel hooked up the music way tighter. This sound like some dolomite soundbite r.i.p.

  • Now that was just mean. Lol!! Dexter is the Sh__T!!

  • There's a much better MAW mix of this. And the MJ Cole one is also very nice. The original Jones Girls' one is dope too.

  • what did you say??? rihana, real music and this "disco shit"??? bohhh..... stupid mentality....

i like this sound.... this music make us dream....

  • incognito.....boo coo fabulous.

  • I like this version. I just love Maysa

  • Maysa and Jocelyn are both beautiful to watch and to listen to on this video.

  • Comment removed

  • i mean its not the original but its ok.

  • this is garbage compared to the regular one. i mean this sucks.

  • CITROEN DS...;legendary car in to go with a legendary song...

  • a c i d

  • oops-- Maysa is indeed on this !!!

  • Maysa Leak is amazing too bad she isn't singing this --check out thier new cd--it's great. Maysa sings on a few of the songs.

  • Wow....awesome. This song escaped me - came right in under the radar. Remember the wonderful Jones Girls and the original but if you love Incognito as I do then this is a fantastic interpretation. :o)

  • agreed!! done as real cleaned up modernised homage, true to the original style

  • I remember this song I loved it, not the chorus much, but when they were talking it touched me!

  • she's Maysa Leak , the singer?

  • She is, she is and she's f***in' fantastic!!!!

  • it seems there's also Jocelyn Brown in this video..btw i agree.. Maysa is great!

    I LOVE INCOGNITO...great tunes ;)

  • That's her alright! She's such a groover. I hadn't actually seen her with curls and didn't recognise her in the first take!!!

  • Memorable Top Tune! Big Up to this one and remember? Old Vinyl never

    dies, it just Warps!

  • good cover

  • This song ROCKS & the video is good too!!

  • hello??? ever heard of the "jones girls"? Check 'em out for the original...Regardless, i will always love Incognito...

  • yeah the brand new heavies did a good version too but the original is so funky and just can't be beaten

  • I'm agree. Much more beter original.

  • Yea, I'm 32 but I still remember that version. it's great!

  • Sounds rather like a copy of someone elses song. Strange noone spotted it.

  • It reminds the of Faith Evans and Earth Wind and Fire, i don't remember exactly but the producer was Pharrell

  • Nothing really to spot. It was always openly a cover version of The Jones Girls - Nights Over Egypt.

The vocalists on this version are Jocelyn Brown and Maysa Leak for those who are interested.

  • Great Comedown song! on the wheels of steel and everyone is pure mellow, yeah baby!

  • This is so smooth. Love This A Million X

  • yep

  • very cool very smooth

  • En los años 70s el mas grande era Bernard Edwards y CHIC! Actualmente, y desde principios de los 80s es Jean Paul "Bluey" Maunick el numero uno! thank you!

  • Cool group , cool video, cool song!!!! Incognito is just the absolute truth.......Maaaaan!

  • muito chic

  • Adoro incognito, balanaço gostoso... Otimo para uma happy hour!

  • this jams.thanks for the post

  • I love yo voice Maysa :-D

  • NICE!!!!!!!

  • LOve you Bluey!!!!!!!!!!

  • Cool refreshing groove ! danke, obrigado, thanks

  • Could some one please up load Dont be a fool to yourself? Dam I love that song.. I need to keep it in heavy rotation..

  • Been a long time in years I've seen this Incognito video. It was included within Incognito's No time like the future album/cd.

I also like their version of this song. Of course I like Nights Over Egypt by the Jones girls too.

  • wack remake

  • grandissimi!

  • Doesn't the one with the REALLY curly hair kinda look like angie stone?!?!?!?! I LOVE THIS SONG AND THE VIDEO!!!!!!!! Got a real funky vibe to it........Is it true these ladies are from europe?!?!?!?! I heard that on tv, someone please tell me if its true or not : D <3<3<3<3<3<3<3

  • Incognito are from the UK :-)

  • Those singers are American, though.

  • The curly haired singer is Maysa Leak from Baltimore, Maryland. The other singer looks to be Jocelyn Brown of Kingston, North Carolina.

  • I love Incognito but beg to differ. The Jones Girls version can't be touched. Far superior.

  • I couldn't have said it better! This version is great - but The Jones Girls..... untouchbale!

  • I DEFINATELY AGREE!

  • Egypt is a cool place...be patient my friend..give it a chance. ABOVE ALL..visit it, meet the birds..girls that swirl...take caravan across the desert sand..

  • IN EGYPT:Dictator Mubarak, despotic Nazi Fascist regime, hungry people, corruption, chaos, dirtiness, illness, hatred, ignorance, fanatic Islamists, hypocrites (Azhar, media, Coptic pope Shenouda III.), fear, hassle, dirty air, dirty water, dirty streets, dirty environment, curse.

    NOT IN EGYPT:

freedom, democracy, human rights, justice, equality, science, morals, cleanness, health, tolerance, freedom of expression, trust, peace of mind, satisfaction, frankness, fixed prices, good breath, bless.

  • What does that have to do with the video?

  • With all due respect to the Jones Girls, the ladies of Incognito SCORCHED this! HOT!

  • Remakes are always good for the songwriters of the original song, in this case, it's Cynthia Biggs. So if you want to reward the songwriter, do not discourage the creation of remakes. Aiight.

  • I agree that remakes are good for songwriters. EX: luther vandross ("a house is not a home"); he brings something new to the song. This version, doesn't bring anything fresh! But that's my opinion! Some songwriters don't like remakes. Prince hated Sinead's "Nothing Compare to you" and chaka Khan was pissed with Whitney's "i'm every woman" and Mary J.'s "Sweet thing" because it SOUNDED THE SAME! BTW, you forgot to mention that Dexter Wansel co-wrote and produced this song.

  • Good pointd. I'm a huge Stevie fan going back to 1973 with Superstition. After decades of hearing his interviews , I noticed his opinions about his music and most music changed..as is natural for all human beings. I cite him as an example. Maybe Prince's will shift & evolve as well.

Chaka may have hated Whitney's version, but I doubt Ashford & Simpson did, they've been around the block. Finally, I hear artists say they simply liked something and wanted to do it themselves. I aint mad at em.

  • cool music!

  • is that Maysa?

  • Yes, it is.

  • sorry, even though these guys did a good job. this remake is redundant... and unnecessary. Yeah, i can house to this song but this version takes away the nice complex and intricate funk arrangements that Dexter Wansel did for the Jones Girls.

  • You are SO right funkysoulguy this arrangement rips the "heartbeat" out of the track.

  • What genre is this song?

  • I would call it acid jazz- good stuff!

  • I didn't even know there was a video of this. wow!

  • show dw bola

  • featuring Max Beasley!!! from UK tv hotel babylon

  • I thought that was him!

  • my favourite songs from my favourite Incognito's album.

  • so funny how music styles get renamed....we hadnt heard of acid jazz when we danced to this...it was all just called jazz funk

  • I remember seeing this years ago on BET's Midnight Love and Bet On Jazz : )

  • Can anybody tell me what is that for a kind of music?

    Maybe Acid Jazz?

    Or Funk?

  • Sounds like both.Ingognito is I think one of original Acid Jazz groups & all there stuff has a groove.Original of this song by The Jones Girls is great too.

  • it is Acid Jazz. They are so tight on this song.

  • This is Acid Jazz---if u like it check out the Brand New Heavies as well.

Here Maysa and Jocelyn Brown (Somebody Elses Gut - classic soul) rip it up on vocals!

  • Well sure, Incognito is most often regarded to be a acid jazz band, but this is a remix by Masters of Work. This is house music. And an excellent example of it as well.

  • yeah id agree, its more house than anything else but its got a kinda lounge groove goin on,the garage mix of this is good aswell ,tru 2 this version but with a 2 step beat

  • adoreei essa historia de incognito! :)

  • im sorry it starts at 2:25

  • AM FROM EGYPT:d

  • I'm from Poland ;)

  • great song

  • this song is done in the key of A

  • you like that key don't you ?

  • F#Maj 7th is one of my best keys:) On piano I can hit some nice jazzy lics in that key I like many A is good though for latin if you if you can hear real close fron the start of 2:00 to the end of the song you can hear salasa tambao in A.....

  • Fabuloso....!

  • lovvvve this song this will get anyone on the dance floor fo' sho'

  • !!huy no, los señores de universal ya estan aqui¡¡

  • Only Incognito with the leading action of Bluey is capable of getting the almighty Maysa and Jocelyn Brown together in one single song to create a masterpiece from a classic oldie tune like this!!

  • i loooooooooove it

  • The Jones Girls should be proud

  • This song is rippin. Love the piano.

    Great vocals as well.

  • the smooth keyboard chords at 2:15 is how i love to play very nice

  • i love my counter so far

  • You are so mean saying fuck.Incognito Nights over Egypt is the best song ever. You are fuck!!!!

  • I agree......white folks always tryin' to steal somethin' and then wanna be lyin and racist afterwards..........anyway, LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "White folks"? have you see the bands line up over the last twenty five years?

    Obviously not.

Can't people just be people without fools putting them as "White folks black folks"? We're not past that yet?

Incognito have been made up of world people for a long time - you might think about that next time you post a 'yo homie listen to my phony street patois' comment. without

  • I Love IT!! This Song ALWAYS PUTS ME IN A GOOD MOOD AND MAKES ME WANT TO BOOGIE & DANCE ALLLLLLL NIGHTS!

  • NOW THIS IS MUSIC! C'est tres suave.

  • p6ulo Thanks for the info in your comment! I have been trying to find out the original group who sang this song since I was a boyscout and heard this song for the first and Only time and never forgot the tune and song since!!!! Incognito is UK's prime funk band to me!!!! The Jones Girls! I'm 40 by the way.

  • My favorite one

  • I jost LOVE Incognito!!!! ^-^

  • Great music, beautiful women and a Citroën DS ... what more can you want :-)))

  • 100% respect my friend. You obviously get the style thing. Shame the car wasn't an SM, then it would have been mega cool, but i get where you're coming from! Regards. Paul. PS have you checked out the original of this track by The Jones Girls? It's unbelievably cool and smooth.

  • We saw these chaps in Manchester years ago when they were just starting out.

Still as fab today as they ever were. We'll be getting on the good foot to this way past the age when its respectable. Can't say that for the pap trotted out be Simon Cowel and Co, that drivel will be long dead and mercifully forgotten. Incognito very much rock.

    Rather.

  • I love this version better than the Jones girls..

  • Good cover, but the original sung by the Jones Girls is better!

  • i agree....

  • So do I!

  • one of the best in the acid jazz, british r&b grouos. they rock!!!!

  • the original track by the jones girls is far better.. check it out

  • Smooth music to the ears..feeling it.

  • great song...love incognito, seen them many times, they rock!!!

  • The original track was not as fast; making it more erotic, with that late 1970's Summer night drive through the city of Detroit sound; but this one is cool, just more active.

  • is "jacobs' ladder" out there?... anything else from "100 degrees and rising" cd?...

  • Good cover of a Jones Girls' classic. IMO, this version lacks that "solidifed", unified harmony of the JG original, but the choir on the chorus is quite good anyway.

  • One of my fave acid jazz bands! They will always be acid jazz to me. Have been very fortunate to have watched them live... twice!

  • very nice

  • Amazing Jocelyn have a Voice that Touch us.

    I have the MAW version...

Incognito is a great Band and there where so many people that remix with exit this Band.

    Nuyorican Soul .... :)

  • Regards From sweden, Ejoyed theese acid grooves during the 90s and of course the brand new heavies..

    Take care / Tindra66

  • Incognitio is Acid Jazz, they were out years before the term neosoul was coined.I hate the term Neosoul, soul is soul.Whether it be new or old.Neo means new but soul never gets old so that term is dumb. Its a marketing ploy to get idiots to think they are buying something special.

  • This is my favorite song in my whole life!

  • what bout erykah badu, jill scott, amp fiddler, the suburst band, maxwell, crazy p,secret stealth, ooooo theres loads i'll have a think n come back to ya

  • i love them since 1981-they re great

  • i love this song :D Thnx

  • I am always impressed how well concieved and cut, Incognito's videos are. They show a lot of style and taste. The selection of new and old material is always outstanding. True pioneers of UK neo-soul.

  • Can anyone recommend other Neo Soul stuff like Incognito? Im always on the lookout for new artists to listen too.
