  • THIS SONG IS DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF S.M. KERN--THE BANJO MAN. FROM HIS GRANDSON

  • Man....I MISS this kind of playing!

  • You can never uncheer someone up with banjo music.

  • my god, he is the Les Paul of banjo

  • WOW look at him just tearin away at that banjo. I love the banjo and this guy makes me love it even more.

  • Do you have the Connie Francis appearance on the Welk show? She was a guest performer in fall 1963.

  • Wow! Fun!

  • Great clip. THANKS!!!!!! My parents made us watch Lawrence Welk when we were so little. Now I watch it on YouTube. Love the music unlike the CRAP my kids listen to today.

  • Eddie used to come over and jam with my grandfather, I remember sitting in the living room and listening to their jams on a reel to reel...I showed some of these to my father, and he was moved, and told me about the last time he saw Eddie before he passed, they sat in the bar talking music and the old man was proud to say he was buying beers for Eddie Peabody.....great man, great musician.

  • @rnrjimmy Great story Jimmy. Eddie grew up in my wifes' Grandmothers' house.

  • You wouldn't happen to have/know where to find the Colour Episode of the Lawrence Welk show where Eddie Peabody plays a rather animated rendition of 'St. Louis Blues' by any chance, would you?

  • Eddie leaves no doubt as to why he was dubbed the "Banjo King". Nice to see the L.W. guitar guys sitting in on banjos - three remarkable talents.

  • hah, wow, I just found it on your channel. Ignore my comment. ;)
